dan-likes-trees
Just come back from it. Can't be bothered to say why but I thought it was terrif and deserved a thread. Also it's directed by David Bowies son, which is impressive. Much love, DanLikesTrees
Hamishmash
Although in all seriousness, I loved Moon so will probably go and see this this weekend.
ReZourceman
Yeah just got back myself. I really enjoyed it. Thought it was great. Erm. Yeah. Spoiler talk basically. Lolz. Really loved how it all resolved. Sick. Not as good as Moon but a nice meat-in-the-middle-deal. YEah. Recommend. This and Limitless = strong leads, fun movie. Paj!
Thought it was good. Wasn't STUNNED, but nothing was wrong with it. No complaints/things I felt could have been improved or anything. I really liked how it avoided the cliches it could have so easily fallen into. Every time I saw opputunity for a cliche I was internally clapping that they avoided. Liked the ending but was half-hoping it was just going to end on an extended version of that shot.
Magnus
I seriously thought this was about a movie called Sauce Code - and couldn't understand why someone would name their movie that - until I tried googling it. The image in the first post doesn't work, by the way.

Yeah, I concur, assuming we're talking about the same shot. Do you mean when the bomb (is about to) detonate and everyone in the train is joyous? Because I was thinking that probably have made a better ending. Was a bit 'oh' when the film kept going for another 10 mins. Wasn't sure about the whole - oh it does actually alter time and create parallel universes. Seemed to cheapen it a bit. Didn't seem like too much of a Hollywood cop out though so it was fine. Paj!
I mean specifically the frozen-time shot.
dan-likes-trees
I mean specifically the frozen-time shot. Yeah that's the one I meant. Thought a fade to black was coming, but not to be.
The Mad Monkey
Think I might have to go watch this, the whole idea of it as far as I can tell is very Quantum Leap.
Daft
I thought it was much more competent than Moon. "Do you believe in fate?" Fuck off. Was great but that made me snigger. I like the implication of the end, did not like the happy ending. He stole someone's life. How does that make sense?
Hamishmash
I suppose I was expecting a bigger twist but I generally liked it. Was worth the cinema ticket and I had fun. Also Jake Gyllenhaal is purdy so I can say that in exchange for all the people going to see Sucker Punch because the leads are purdy.
Shorty
Can I fix the title or is it an hilarious joke which I do not get? I like time travel movies but as a web developer, the title alone really makes me cringe.
chairdriver
It was great, it was fine. [/s&M] Loved the fact it just forced you to deal with parabolic realities. Just because it's an alternate reality does it make it any less pregnant? I love the feeling of circularity. Did the film actually happen? [Kinda hate how American it was though. Loaded with "villain is anti-government therefore evil". / they needed a reason to explain the bomb, so it was fine.] Jake G is hot. Michelle M was unprecedentedly beautiful/stunning/a great actress/was captivated and I loved how her character told me jokes. Really insensitively walked off to get coffee when he told her his friend could have been dead. Dealt with shit well. That said, there was no moment where I thought "This is stunning". In Inception, District 9, Watchmen etc etc there were moments where I was like "Fuck me, I'm whet and wet." [although, ironically, in hindsight I kinda hate all three of those films mentioned.] Source Code kinda burned with a dull flame. Was anti-cliche, and interesting, and parts were exciting. But also, there was no hook for me to hang, and the I'm not sure the script was that good. I loved how it feels really self-contained. Could have been a stage play. Only 2 settings. And love how they could do a Source Code 2, with an entirely new cast, and no one would care. I feel, ultimately, I'll look back and be stunned by it. But I wasn't impressed or moved. It felt nice. It was great, it was fine. 7.8/
Coolness Bears
SOURCE TOADS. Average. Decent premise but fell into the danger of lacking any suspense because of it and the ending is horrid, smushy nonsense and FATE. Still entertaining and funny. Especially no morals blackman. Fierce_LiNk
I really enjoyed the film. Ine and I both agree with how it probably should have ended (Paj and Dan's posts) but I also see why it ended in the way that it did. It was a good resolution. Wouldn't it be decent though if they did both endings for the DVD? Jake Gyllenhaal (sp?) was great, though. Thought he carried the film well. Probably turned out a bit better than what I was expecting. It was going to be difficult to make another film after Moon, but I think this is probably a more "complete" film. There seems to be a bit more to it. Not sure which one I prefer. Loved the ideas in this one, though. Had a 12 Monkeys vibe to it.
