Daft
I need to put together a ripomatic (Basically a video mood board). So I need clips to edit together from various films and any other relevant media. Basically I need two thing. Massive fuck-off monsters and the calm before they emerge (Row boats, fog being the main aim) preferably with more than just a hint of Moby Dick. So far on my list I have, Godzilla (1998) King Kong (New one) Pirates of the Caribbean - All of them Deep Rising Children of Men (The bit with the boat in the mist right at the end) Clash of the Titans (New one) Cloverfield Monsters I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few good one. Would really help!
Ashley
Would The Wickerman count? The scene when they have him captured and are dragging him to the Wickerman as its revealed over the hill.
jayseven
I can't recall specifically, and it may be too kitch, but The Fog might help? :P Problem is you've pretty much named all the big-bads. What about things like Deep Impact, assume that the comet/whatever is a 'monster'? Creature from the Black Lagoon as it emerges? It's funny, for some reason I've got a proper blank for movies with fog at the moment. Why are you ignoring the old version of godzilla? You could squeeze in Attack of the 50ft woman! Yeah, shit idea. Sorry I wasn't any help. Just saw you said other media too - Power Rangers too lame? :P
Paj!
The Alien Queen, to add a touch of stunning to the affair. (see Aliens, Alien Resurrection, AVP)
EEVILMURRAY
Dragonzord/Titanis/Tor etc? Or do they have to be biological creatures?
Daft
Would The Wickerman count? The scene when they have him captured and are dragging him to the Wickerman as its revealed over the hill. Don't think so. I need monsters. Because I forget perfect examples like that! I'm ignoring old Godzilla because I would like the effects to be as cutting edge as possible and I need the films in HD. The Alien Queen, to add a touch of stunning to the affair. (see Aliens, Alien Resurrection, AVP) Too established and not big enough. I'm talking about God of War type size. Dragonzord/Titanis/Tor etc? Or do they have to be biological creatures? Biological. Think the Kraken from Clash of the Titans.
Eenuh
Mr. Stay Puft from the Ghostbusters? =P I actually can't think of any monsters, hmm. Most have already been mentioned. I'd like to see the result though once it's done.
Daft
Haha!! I might try and sneak the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in as a joke. I'll post up the video when I'm done. Anyone got any suggestions for music? I'm tempted to use the clichéd Inception trailer music. Or a track that starts off calm and then explodes about half way through that's about 2/3 minutes long. Paj!
Or I suppose the cliched Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell (from Requiem for a Dream but used in loads of trailers).
drahkon
Justice - Planisphère Part 3 Audio Doesn't start that calmly but it does get more intense and I think the voices kind of sound like monsters :p X-Ray Dog - Army of Doom Audio Maybe too much doom? X-Ray Dog - The New Gothic Remix Audio Probably too fast and not enough build up. But the "explosion" later on is incredible. X-Ray Dog - Approaching Storm Audio If you have the possibility to combine tracks I'd recommend part this (or maybe the whole) for the build up. Edit: An awesome Devil May Cry track Audio Might not fit the concept you already have... Marilyn Manson - Seizure Of Power Audio Just an evil song. Daft
Clash of the Titans (New one) Clash of the Titans (think the Kraken) --- Just got home. 4 in the morning. I look forward to giving all those tracks a listen. Planisphère might be a little bit of genius.
