ipaul Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 YEAH! Woop. Released digitally on the 19th of February. Who's excited?
ShavenWolf Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Hell. Yes. I couldn't stop shouting "OH MY FUCKING GOD!!" when I found out, and ordered the CD/Vinyl/MP3 version immediately!
Mundi Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 First time I've heard of this. I am way more out of touch then I thought. looking forward et cetera.
Wesley Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 FUCK YEAH! Newspaper Album definitely. I'd give Thom my child.
Charlie Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Why would you pay extra to get this in .wav format?
The Peeps Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 First time I've heard of this.I am way more out of touch then I thought. looking forward et cetera. Same. However, I do know about the new Strokes album in March
Ten10 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Why would you pay extra to get this in .wav format? Mainly for the lossless audiophiles out there who hate mp3. I think flac would have been better. I see they're not trying the pay what you want stunt again.
Paj! Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Light is seeping out of all my pores. I'm so ready.
Wesley Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Is In Rainbows even on Spotify? I don't remember...
ipaul Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 So it came out a day early. Hurrah! Just had the first listen through. First impressions are pretty great, though I will say I'm preferring the second side at the moment. It took a good few listens before In Rainbows really clicked, I'm interested to see how this will develop.
dan-likes-trees Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Appears to be modelled on Mark's Rainbow Rhythms dance in Peep Show. Awk. Anyway, can't download it as our internet is too shit. So that sucks. Might go to uni and do a mass downloading sesh...
Paj! Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I'm so tempted to just buy the download...but I like having albums I really want in a physical form. I'll just wait for the CD.

tapedeck Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) Well...same as in Rainbows this is gonna take a few listens. It's definately got a lot going on and therefore needs attention paying for the first half of the album. As it slows down I've enjoyed it more... LOVING Codex (chord changes are sublime and is up there with Videotape from In Rainbows) and Give up the Ghost is wonderful. Separator (last track) is frickin' beautiful too. Needs headphones more than ever though. And there doesn't seem anything as euphoric as 15step. Again, it's a different album. Again it's Radiohead never standing still anymore. ShavenWolf Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 On probably my 5th listen now. Even as a massive, massive Radiohead fan I was still a bit 'wtf?' at first, but I'm truly loving it now. It's reminding me a lot of The Eraser, Amnesiac b-sides and In Rainbows (a bit). It's not what I was expecting from them anyway! If anybody's not keen on it first time round, you'll appreciate it much more on a second listen! Little By Little is awesome, but I think Separator is my favourite at the moment. It's so damn pretty!
tapedeck Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Did a little guide to Codex on keyboard. Enjoy! Audio
