Daft Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Yeah, one area a dude saw me literally for a split second just as I shot him with a silencer. I reckon they should use the stealth icon they use in the online.
dazzybee Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Glad I can't play this til December now, hopefully by then the aiming will be fixed. Had a little go on level 1, was pretty good. Wasn't wowed by the graphics though like I was expecting. Started level 2 and loved the animation on the kid, but decided to stop due to the huge gap before playing again. Just want to blitz it straight through!
ReZourceman Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Crushing is quite "easy". Although I am about to do what I found to be one of the trickiest pieces of the game in a minute; Cruise Ship Hall
Happenstance Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Just completed the game. I probably wont return it like I said last night but I found it nowhere near as good as Uncharted 2 and it had too many problems. Was more interesting that Uncharted 2's boss fight but as I hated the melee combat it was pretty much ruined for me.
ReZourceman Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 What was your (everyones) favourite bits?
Happenstance Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Id probably have to play it again to say that, I was so disappointed and getting annoyed with the difficulty throughout so at the moment thats all I really remember.
S.C.G Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 What was your (everyones) favourite bits? I don't wish to spoil anything for anyone so I'll just say all of it because it is genuinely stunning from start to finish. Did you watch all of the behind scenes featurettes? I found them all to be particularly inspiring and insightful.
ReZourceman Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I havn't yet but certainly will do. Are they on the main disk because I still havn't received my special edition yet.
Aimless Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I also think they need to fix the stealth. It's way too hard to be stealthy. Getting spotted by an enemy alerts the entire area. They should make it so that gunfire alerts the area, not simply getting spotted. So if you do get spotted by one (or two) guards but take them out quickly (silenced gun, melee) then you should still be able to proceed silently. It actually does work like that sometimes, but I think in the bigger areas the game makes sure you'll be detected so as to not to circumvent the massive firefight they have planned. Problem is that rather takes the incentive out of stealth; it's like the player is simply delaying the inevitable. The campaign comes across as a little rushed to me. Not that it isn't full of love and attention to detail, but the game's combat scenarios often feel like a bit of a hodgepodge of tougher enemies jumping into the arena from all around you. It's a strange one as the combat areas are generally well designed, the core mechanics (inexplicably laggy aiming aside) a joy, but often times the opposition seems tuned towards extending the experience rather than actually being fun to fight. In many ways I think this is the best game in the series, but the above really conspires to undermine the advances elsewhere. Hopefully some of it can be patched — the flaws aren't fundamental — as the co-op shows how much fun the combat can be; for my money it's the best third-person shooter action there is.
S.C.G Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I havn't yet but certainly will do. Are they on the main disk because I still havn't received my special edition yet. They are unlocked and viewable from the extras(?) menu at the main menu upon completing the game.
ReZourceman Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 They are unlocked and viewable from the extras(?) menu at the main menu upon completing the game. I don't have this yet....maybe you have to do it on Hard/Crushing. Oh no nevermind...its in campaign menu.
flameboy Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Pffft, whose further on in the game?! I'm hoping it's me, or I may look rather foolish. Errr.....I finished it Everyone up for some multiplayer this weekend?
Happenstance Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 God, having to listen to ReZ burp all the time while playing multiplayer is fucking horrible.
ReZourceman Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Do you expect me to not drink carbonated beverages whilst playing? Which would lead to a lower proportion of n00b pwning? I do it for the good of the team.
Retro_Link Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) ROFL at the Exclusive Gel! Nice unboxing! *once you finally got in* :p I like the base, base, base, base... Edited November 4, 2011 by Retro_Link
Ganepark32 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Picked up my copy earlier today. Been 3 months almost since I last bought a game so felt it was time to treat myself. Looking forward to getting stuck into the single player later, even though it sounds like the aiming is pretty poor. Think I'll have to tinker with that before I start. May try out some multiplayer as well (as long as it's Plunder :p). See how it goes.
Wesley Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 @ReZourceman, you made a ten minute unboxing video? Don't you have a life...? *spends 10 minutes watching*
flameboy Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 For some weird reason my horizontal camera always defaults to flipped?!
Jon Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Errr.....I finished it Everyone up for some multiplayer this weekend? I've finished it......Twice. I'm now Trophy whoring. And then I can get this new Uncharted thing.
flameboy Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 GRRRRR was just doing awesome in a team objective match and got disconnected.
Daft Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Anyone want to play after lunch tomorrow? Like at 1?
flameboy Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Anyone want to play after lunch tomorrow? Like at 1? I probably will done working out by then so yeah sure!
Jon Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 How is that even possible dude? It took us months to do that in Uncharted 2! I've not looked at the trophies though, i'm only assuming they're somewhat similar to Uncharted 2.
flameboy Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I've finished it......Twice. I'm now Trophy whoring. And then I can get this new Uncharted thing. oooooh ok.... Is it worth playing through more than once? Does the story change enough?
