Retro_Link Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Yeah I'd fully expect Leon to be either be unlockable or available through DLC, but I just think it's a really strange choice, because normally you'd use those slots for completely unexpected characters for people to anticipate and get excited about who they might be... not a character you'd expect to be in there from the start!

Captain Falcon Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) I just caught some of that live feed (not much though) and from what they were saying, it sounded like you can't play online with random people - they have to be on your friends list. Also, unless it was me, the camera wasn't zooming in so much when aim was held down. In that video there of the Japanese version, you can't see Chris when he's aiming making it almost first person but I'm convinced the characters were always on the screen when I was watching just - and they were playing the US version. You could ask the guys questions and the entire feed seemed to be asking why no Leon and all the Capcom guys said was they choose characters who had a lot of impact/were memorable from the series. Only prompting more questions of why no Leon :p Still, I am tempted to pick this up just so I have something new to play because it does look like it could be fun - I just question for how long though... I'm picking it up because it's Resident Evil and I loved the mercenary mode on Resident Evil 4 but like you I have concerns regarding the length of the game.

I liked Mercenaries too but I'm not sure there is enough meat for it to stand up on it's own. I like the idea of being able to upgrade/customize your characters and stuff and that helps to give extra incentive to keep playing. I just worry it's gong to feel repetitive sooner rather than later, especially if there isn't many different levels to play on. Dozens of missions can only go so far if you're constantly running around the same environments. And given the brevity of the demo, the Revelations teaser isn't much of an incentive either.

I don't think it'll be that fast to go down, it is a Nintendo published title after all, then again retailers might over price it to hell (as they do like DoA £40) then lower it cause of bad sales

This sucks for those who are gonna pick up a 2nd hand copy of the game as all of the scores will be saved as will all of the unlockables.
