Dog-amoto Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) Any fans out there? I think I'm one of the few people out there who preferred Holy Grail to Life of Brian. So, which of the films did you prefer? Are you one of the three people who liked Meaning of Life, or did you enjoy Flying Circus more? Or do you find it all a bit dated now? For me, Flying Circus was a bit hit and miss, but here are a few of my favourites. I've tried to avoid the more well-known ones like the Parrot Sketch Feel free to add your own. Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I must say I much preferred Holy Grail to Life of Brian. But I've always been a sucker for Arthurian mythology, so ... Meaning of Life had some hilarious parts as well, though some of them were just disturbing.
Guy Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 You know, countless people have told me I would love Monty Python and it's totally my sort of thing. Having checked it out I wasn't able to get into it. What's wrong with me?
Retro_Link Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 From what I've seen, I can't stand it personally. I think it's probably a love it or hate it thing. A lot of people seem to find it hillarious, which does make you feel like you should like it, but I just don't... at all!
Fierce_LiNk Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Dog, I love The Holy Grail. I find it a lot more funny than the Life of Brian. Both are great, but Holy Grail is just in a different league, in my opinion. Flying Circus was great, but I must admit that I do find it a little bit dated now, as you say. However, Holy Grail is still something I can watch over and over without getting tired of. "He's already got one...it's verrrry niiiice!" *turns to other soldiers* "I've told them we've already gooot one *sniggers*" Gets me every time.
Nolan Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I love it all, including Flying Circus....too bad I don't get any of the British Politics.
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I think the majority of people preffer Holy Grail, not the other way around... which makes sense, as it's clearly the best comedy ever made, by a big margin. Ok, maybe it's tied with Dr. Strangelove. Also, I didn't realize it was possible to not like Monty Python. How? Why?
mcj metroid Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 I never got it either, not even the movies. Which is unusual because I usually love british comedy
Pancake Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 All the Python stuff i've seen has been hit and miss to me. I liked Holy Grail best though i think. The Python moments that come to mind are the famous "now FUCK off" from Life of Brian (great delivery). And the old parrot sketch. It's overplayed cos it was one of the best!
