Hey guys an gurls. I don't usually make threads, but i reeeeeally need your help...

A female friend (might help with the suggestions) and I have decided we'd like to go to London next Tuesday, and seeing as i've only ever been once (for the West Brom v Port Vale playoff final), i'm not sure what is actually good/fun to do down there..?

Can anyone help with any suggestions please?? :)

Open bus tour is great if it's nice weather, various museums, Hyde park for a relax maybe a play on the lake, drinks in Leicester square/soho...

There's so much to do here, if there's something in particular you fancy you will almost certainly find it in some form.

if it's nice, and there's something on, I'd recommend a walk down the southbank, across town and up to Chinatown.

Chinatown's a bit stinky though, and last time I went there to eat, I swear to fucking god I was served by Voldemort. The guy didn't have a nose, and he gave me something that I don't think I ordered and which looked suspiciously like dessicated snakeskin.

Just go to Piccadilly Circus and start walking around, you'll be sure to find something to do. If you want to take her shopping/ for a nice meal, try Carnaby Street. It's off Bond Street station, or thereabouts.

I'm a pretty shitty citizen of that city, since I haven't made the least fucking effort to explore.

Start at Tate Modern and, like Dan said, walk down the South Bank. Cross over at Westminster. Walk up to Buckingham Palace then down The Mall and chill out in the park next to it. From there you're right next Trafalgar Square. You've then got The National Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery. Then you're right next to Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus (You could also check out The Royal Academy of Art while you're near and Fortnum & Masons - great milkshakes). Then do what The Bard says grab food and/or walk to Carnaby Street.

What do you like doing?

Thanks for the ideas everyone :)

Its not a date.. we've just decided we'd like to do something different for the day.

We quite like our music so i was looking at something called the British Music Experience?? that sounded interesting. Then i know that she would love to see a show and has dropped a million hints at madam tussauds. I quite like the idea of a picnic on hyde park for lunch weather permitting. A little bit of shopping. Walk round kew gardens. Zoo? Galleries.

There just is too much to choose from. We're only going to be there for 11 hours.

I'll have to start googling your suggestions... its sad how little i know about London

I've been dozens of times in the last few years and done very few (if any) of the things listed here. Nor do I really know my way around as I'm constantly being led. But hope you have a good time :)

(and just noticed you live near me, I'm on the Cradley/Halesowen border)

My grandad lives in Cradley... I swear i've actually walked past you once.. on Colley Lane. I recognised your face but couldn't think where from... then i realised later it was the user image gallery :)

Dudley Meet. Hahaa.. we could show you the sights

Ha I do walk down Colley Lane sometimes as I live just off Windmill Hill.

Somehow I doubt there's much to actually see in Dudley. Plus I have to put up with the accent at work, yet alone during socialising! :heh:

In that case we'll say that this was the Dudley meet:
