Dante Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Joystiq We know, we know -- another Rayman game, right? But no, seriously, this one looks totally sweet. Debuted at today's Ubisoft press conference, Beyond Good & Evil and Rayman creator Michel Ancel is developing Rayman Origins. From what we saw, it's a 2D Rayman that allows for some content creation as well. While we were impressed by the Rayman levels shown, a handful of user-created levels were also displayed with vastly different art styles. With any luck we'll get a chance to check out more when E3 officially starts tomorrow.
Daft Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Love Rayman. The platformers on the N64 were immense. God knows why UbiSoft dropped him. Wankers.
Fused King Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 RAYMAN! RAYMAN! RAYMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But why are they picturing him as an idiot?
Diageo Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Why? Was he always some sort of rocket science analyst?
Retro_Link Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I don't really like the creepy style tbh. Not fused about this one unfortunately.
Fused King Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) Why? Was he always some sort of rocket science analyst? Well, he was more bad-ass in the 3d games, especially in Hoodlum Havoc. BAD ASS! Edited June 15, 2010 by Fused King
dwarf Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I saw the thread title and was like 'No fucking way, I've wanted a HD reboot so bad!' and I looked in, was slightly disappointed by the character model, then I looked at the gameplay and was a bit more depressed. Call me classical or a nostalgic bellend, but I do believe these reboots should look and play similar to the originals, otherwise you're just gonna let your audience down. I like how they have combined the original 2D stuff with the almost equally brilliant 3D stuff - features like the picture-taking savepoint, and the character Globox. It could still be good but, nyah. I guess it just wasn't to be, ah well.
Retro_Link Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) Gameplay isn't what I was expecting! It's far from a traditional platformer! Now it's some crazy sidescroller... hmm not sure. Looks to have some difficulty to it, but I'm not sure about the character movement, looks a bit awkward at times/overly manic. Tetris bit was great though! Edited June 6, 2011 by Retro_Link
