Happenstance Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 From what ive heard Robin is gonna be the same as the Joker, only playable on the challenge maps.
LegoMan1031 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 From what ive heard Robin is gonna be the same as the Joker, only playable on the challenge maps. Yeah thats what i read as well, and apparantly it isn't exclusive to a console like Joker was too PS3.
Shorty Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The way they word it is that this is an exclusive bonus, not an exclusive feature. In other words, it's a bonus of pre-ordering, not a feature which is only available through this means. So you can still pay extra to get it, down the line, as DLC.
flameboy Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I never even played Jokers missions....at least I don't remember playing them, maybe I forgot?
Happenstance Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I found them quite a bit harder than Batmans, really missed using the grapple
Goron_3 Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 When is this game out? Feels as though I've been waiting for years :/
Magnus Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 It's been less than two years since the first game was released, so you haven't waited all that long. :p It's out October 21st (18th in the US), according to Wikipedia.
bryanee Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 October 21st the day I lock myself away and play Arkham City forever.
Jimbob Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 October 21st the day I lock myself away and play Arkham City forever. I'm taking October 21st off work. Probably need a vacation after all them calls i'll be taking. And September 21st as well, for obvious reasons. (Gears 3)
Happenstance Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Batman Arkham City: Robin Revealed We have our first-look at Robin, courtesy of retailer Best Buy, which published the image of the Boy Wonder on its website today. Robin will be an exclusive pre-order character to play in the game's challenge maps through Best Buy and other select retailers. It's unclear as of now if Robin will be offered at a later time. The Best Buy listing reads: While supplies last, pre-order the game for an exclusive downloadable Robin character. Robin is a fully playable character in the new and improved challenge mode in Batman: Arkham City. The Tim Drake Robin pack is available exclusively to fans who pre-order the game from Best Buy on Xbox 360, PC and PS3. Robin comes complete with his own unique gadgets and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that are included with the pack: Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. The pack will also contain a bonus Red Robin character skin. IGN has contacted Warner Bros. for additional information. http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/117/1177294p1.html
Shorty Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Fuck everything about that. Except Robin himself. Looks kinda cool and suited to the game's tone.
Happenstance Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I dont like the hair but im happy its Tim Drake, plus getting the Red Robin costume.
Shorty Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Yeah it's funny isn't it? Never seen Robin with such short hair. He's like a cross between Chris O'Donnell's Robin and Cole from inFamous. But this is going to be the most "to-life" representation of Robin since Batman Forever, and for the same reason he'd probably never be in Christopher Nolan's films, he's a hard character to show in three dimensions without it seeming ridiculous.
Happenstance Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Its such a shame as well. Tim Drake has actually become on of my favourite characters in the DCU but without aging Robin like they did in the old movies, your right it wouldnt work. I do think there could be some kind of nod to the character though in the last movie, see a poster for the Flying Graysons or something.
bryanee Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I like it but I'm a big giant Batman fanboy. But seriously this better be available to purchase close to launch, god damn retail excluisve stuff, its even worse when there is more than one set of exclusive content spread over different retailers. Heres hoping for a CE edition which has everything included.
Happenstance Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Batman: Arkham City's Robin Explained Speaking on the Arkham City community forums, Senior Concept Artist Kan Mutfic has given the "final word" on the team's vision for Robin. Here's what he had to say: "We wanted to create a Robin that players would identify as a contemporary character and move away from the traditional "Boy Wonder" image that most people know. Our vision of Robin is the one of a troubled young individual that is calm and introverted at times but very dangerous and aggressive if provoked. The shaved head is inspired by cage fighters, because we thought that Robin might be doing that in his spare time to keep him on his toes. Still, we kept all the classic trademarks of Robin's appearance, such as the red and yellow colors of his outfit, the cape and the mask. We really hope that people will discover our Robin as one of their new favorite characters in the Batman universe. He is back and he means business." Dog-amoto Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 At least we know there'll be Riddler puzzles again. And it looks like he'll have a bigger role this time
