Shorty Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Is it common knowledge that you can set the tactics for all your future matches in the season? Because I always see people on here talking about letting others manage their account etc when they go away, but you can just set your next 3 matches during your holiday or whatever through the upcoming matches screen. Or is that a new feature?
Happenstance Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I only found out about it in the last month probably, dont know how long it was around before that. Never use it myself though, like to wait so ive seen their previous match first.
Mr_Odwin Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 A 17 5 for Silverdale. Hate ... building ... it's so unfair!
SPAMBOT4000 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Hmm X-11 seems very like Monopoly to me. When you're winning it's AWESOME but when you're losing... I've gone from loving it to "not sure I can be bothered" after just two losses in a row. Kinda pathetic really but it's true.
Mr_Odwin Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 You've gotta stick with it. Everyone loses and sometimes the results are freaky bad luck, but it's all about the long term goals. I want my 18 4s to be 28 12s. That's 10 seasons of graft and a load of work. It is nice when you're winning though. Much nicer.
Brian Mcoy Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Mcoy thinks you should follow his example. Mcoy has a good team, his tactics are good but Mcoy gets fucked over by unlucky odds or a dumb player. Mcoy knows he will be relegated but once Mcoy's new players fit in he will "hopefully" dominate next season :P
DuD Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Yeah, pretty much what Odwin and Mcoy said.. Keep the faith and keep playing. Its great when you properly shape your squad and watch it grow. I've only been playing for three seasons (including this one), but i really enjoy it.. even when i lose i'm looking at the match experience etc to see what i need to do to make sure every single player improves for next season. --------- Now to tomorrow.. Merry Christmas to everyone. I'm looking for my first win in 5 games but good luck Mr Odwin.. obviously i'm still hoping to beat you
Cube Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I'm surprised, everyone is staying, even Dale and Ashby (who have been with me since the very start). In fact, Dale scored in my first league match (and my most recent). From a quick look, nobody is losing out on much.
Roostophe Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Just one of my original players leaving - McAnespie. Bond and Monington are all that's left of that original A.F.C. Roostophe squad formed at the arse end of August 2007...we've come a long way, fuckers.
Ellmeister Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Wahey a nice win on Christmas Day! Losing a couple of peeps. Need to replace them lest my premiership days are over! I think I have the hardest last few games, which means after all this and currently sitting in 3rd, I could still be relegated damn! Just like last season :p
jayseven Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I lost 2-0! Merry Christmas, you bloody useless blades! Is it common knowledge that you can set the tactics for all your future matches in the season? Because I always see people on here talking about letting others manage their account etc when they go away, but you can just set your next 3 matches during your holiday or whatever through the upcoming matches screen. Or is that a new feature? Common knowledge :P Been mentioned several times in this thread. Hmm X-11 seems very like Monopoly to me. When you're winning it's AWESOME but when you're losing... I've gone from loving it to "not sure I can be bothered" after just two losses in a row. Kinda pathetic really but it's true. Yeah I know the feeling. Three seasons ago I had a good run in the top league, coming 4th, the next season I struggled to stay up, then i was relegated last season, and this season I'm struggling to stay up again! Currently I feel aimless, not knowing whether to stop playing my 'strongest' team and start just building up youth... whether to buy a good young player or an old great one... Oddy's right (though what he'd know about losing a few games is laughable :P) - stick with it, aim to avoid relegation, or get your own back on the team that beat you, or fall in love with one of your players and beef them up - or just wait for the new season with the new competition!
DuD Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Majority possession, 5 chances to 1, at home, odwin's tactics guessed right, he guessed mine wrong, result..? he scores his only chance of the game and wins 1-0. What the fuck??? I put down a 500,000 win bonus aswell
Shorty Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 My team's getting rather old. I have had the same captain ever since I made my team and he will be 37 next season!
Brian Mcoy Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Mcoy has a spring of luck for him today. Mcoy's players lowest ME is 25% however Mcoy will only need 3 games to get them fully trained.
Mr_Odwin Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I played a youth side too. My 18 4 GK played a 7! Merry Christmas everybody! I have 3 keepers though and James Smedley still needs his games.
Haden Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Majority possession, 5 chances to 1, at home, odwin's tactics guessed right, he guessed mine wrong, result..? he scores his only chance of the game and wins 1-0. What the fuck??? I put down a 500,000 win bonus aswell You only played 1 striker though! Take that sicko out with 2 or 3 next time. Sorry for the no show reports just been hetic may have to just do awards again to catch up. Won a close game against Cube in a friendly thanks for the game needed it badly.
jayseven Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I have 3 keepers though and James Smedley still needs his games. Lol! I was a 'keeper for my cubs side for about a year. We won everything. You got a good player there!
Tales Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Unbeaten for the fifth time in a row Also won my first league match in the X11 league. Counting them it's seven in a row^^
Roostophe Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Both my other teams won 1-0 today. Merry Boxing Day, fecklaces!
Haden Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Where did all the season go? Matches from way back (18th Dec!) trying to do a report a day to catch up during these Merry times! Enjoy! Haden United 1-0 Roostophe Rovers In a tense match United completed the double over Rovers with a second 1-0 victory against the former champions. United played 4-3-3 against Rovers 3-5-2 formation and tried to score an early goal. However chances were very limited in the first half with both teams struggling to create much in a match that had large significance for both managers. As United desperately sought a goal to keep their lead at the top of the table intact, Moscardi whipped in a ball that Weesle nodded in to the rapture of the home crowd. Rovers were unable to hit back and after their win against the 64s seemed to reignite their season they suffer another loss that puts the club in danger. For United it was a vital win to put pressure on Secret United and Essex Elites as the games run out for the chasing clubs. Secret United 4-2 Happenstance FC An action pack matched saw United keep up the title chase against a resurgent Happenstance. Happenstance were the first team to beat United this season 4-1 at home so United had something to prove. They struck twice before half time as the game proved to be an incredibly open one with 17 chances in all. Crowley hit in a goal from close range then set up Noel for a volley just before half time. However Happenstance were not going down easily and Gregor blasted one in from the 6 yard box. But the action was end to end and Rafaelinho scored from a corner literally a minute later. Spajic set another goal up as Happenstance's hero Phingphaew headed the ball in the net and ran back with the ball to restart the match as Happenstance pressed for a famous victory. Rafaelinho finished the match off though as right at the death he weaved past a Happenstance defender and slotted the ball into the bottom right hand corner. United deserved the win and keep the pressure up on Haden United as the title chase draws to a close. However Happenstance were great at times and it shows how far they have come this season to make this match so dramatic. Madpool 3-3 Dysonism F.C Madpool nearly scored a massive boost to their slim hopes of staying in the top league in a dramatic game against Dysonism. The two teams with the most amount of goals clashing always hinted at a large scoreline. Ullathorpe blasted in a goal after 7 minutes to give Madpool fans some hope before Spririto hit back for Dysonism with a header 10 minutes later. Madpool exploited the fact that Dysonism only had 3 defenders with both Quintal and Hadley finding themselves with space to set up a long range goal. Sandford who was on terrific form headed in an effort just before half time to mean Dysonism were only trailing by one goal. At the restart Dysonism's midfield took over and created 5 chances compared to 1 for Madpool. In comparison Madpool made 6 to Dysonism's 2 in the 1st half. This dominance of chances led to a goal quickly after the restart as the superb Sandford set up Twigg who made no mistake in leveling the game. Madpool held on as Dysonism charged forward. This is without a doubt a good result for Dysonism but does not kill off Madpool who could still survive if they had a surge of great form. Essex Elites 3-1 Tin Can Club The Elites keep their title ambitions alive as they defeated a doomed and (possibly) abandoned Tin Can Club. Both teams played 4-3-3 but the game was comparatively quiet in the 1st half with only Pizulli scoring after being put through by Ling. However a shock seemed to be occurring as Johannsson made it 1-1 just after half time as the Elites were caught napping. However the Elites have not drawn once so far and didn't plan to today either, the game opened up with chances for both sides. However it was the Elites headed by the wonderful Ling who won the day, Ling crossed the goal in for Marples to shoot home to make it 2-1. Then just before the end of the game Ling again crossed it in for Marples who headed it home and finished the game off. Elites have to win games like this to carry on what is shaping up to be the best ever finish for the club. Analysis Most Important Result: Haden United 1-0 Roostophe Rovers, vital win for United to keep momentum up while Rovers are still stuck in a relegation fight. Turned on the Style Award: Secret United, all out attack as they pay back Happenstance for the pairs earlier meeting. Player of the Day: Danny Ling, Essex Elites, stepped up to make sure the Elites scored the goals and got the victory with 3 assists. Mcoys Sons 1-2 Silverdale Hotpot Mcoys Sons fell to Silverdale Hotpot who fielded a 4-5-1 formation and landed an important away victory against the Sons. Silverdale created 3 chances to the Sons 1 in the 1st half, with their numbers advantage in midfield showing. Surprisingly 2 of these were converted as the Sons were unable to deal with Silverdale's singular striker. Hudson hit it past the goalie after 10 minutes, then McIntyre headed in his first ever goal for the club. The Sons looked good in attack but failed to create many chances, with only 2 more in the 2nd half being made as Silverdales midfield and defense locked them out. Jbil carried on a quite successful opening season as he scored a direct free kick. But it was to little to late and the Sons who needed a point at least look in big trouble now. Silverdale push on and are chasing after the title contenders in the league. Cubic County 0-0 Emo Blades County played 4-3-3 and put all their effort into breaking down the Blades defense but in the end failed to make an impact. The Blades star goalie Packham was injured after 19 mins and substituted and with County creating 4 chances to the Blades 1 this seemed like just the chance County needed to turn draws into wins. Ashby the player some people associate the most with County failed to be the striker that was needed. He performed the worst out of all 3 strikers and his manager will not be happy. Blades did not have their own star Zeca playing so were lacking in striking power also. A draw keeps both these sides in the relegation fight with both badly needing victories. Noodle Esporte Clube 2-2 DuDs Baggies The Baggies who were flying high mere games ago are struggling to get wins as the 2nd half of the season starts. They did well to hold high flying Noodle to a draw though at Noodles home ground. Competition between these two clubs has been tight with 1 win a piece and 1 draw heading into this match. Morais headed Noodle ahead as it was Noodle who seemingly wanted to take the victory and command of this rivalry. Baggies with 5 midfielders dominated possession and converted two chances before half time. The first being a Forsyth header, then moments later the Noodle defense still reeling failed to mark another cross, leading to a Hulbert header putting the Baggies ahead. The Baggies came out in the 2nd half looking like they could score even more! However Noodle's defense and goalie somehow stopped them. Then on the break Zakay was put through by Eden, Zakay shot past the goalie and made it 2-2. It was a very interesting match and a draw may be the fairest result. Both these teams represent why the middle league is such an exciting place. Edd Kirby Athletic 0-1 Battlestar Odwinica The problem for Athletic who have never beaten Odwinica, that was highlighted in this match, is they are facing a team who like themselves are strong in defense but stronger than them in attack. While Athletic are not so weak in attack as last season They at no point during this game looked like overcoming Odwinica's fortress like defense. Athletic confident of their own abilities in this department, played a 3-5-2 formation hoping that with the back secure they could dominate possession and score. However Odwinica's midfield inspired by Groves actually created more chances (3-2) than Athletic! In the end Tate who came on as a substitute for an injured Oliver headed in a dramatic 82 minute goal that Groves crossed in. Odwinica have not been the all powerful force that some unfairly predicted a 2nd season team might be. But when crunch games like this occur it is usually Odwinica that edges them. Analysis Most Important Result: Edd Kirby Athletic 0-1 Battlestar Odwinica, Odwinica are back after a poor double to their winning ways, Athletic after a good double are back in trouble. Turned on the Style Award: DuDs Baggies, 8 chances and 2 goals with only 1 striker, manager may have preferred 3 points to this award though. Player of the Day: Morris Drynan, Silverdale Hotpot, great defensive work earned Silverdale a 2nd away win for the season. Complete Domstercool 2-0 Made of Win This could be a candidate for worst match of the season in any league as both the match was very much boys vs boys. Domstercool luckily played 4-4-2 to ensure their would at least be goals to entertain the fans. Whiteman struck first as the horrendous Made of Win defense failed to pick him up in their 6 yard box, he made no mistake finishing. Benham after the break headed in a goal to give Made of Win no way back. Domstercools defense was actually the best part of the match and closed down attacks quickly even with 3 attackers against them. Made of Win's team will likely be retired at the end of this season and Domstercool needs to refocus as while his team got the win they should have scored much more. Martinists Men 2-3 Discount Viagra After a disappointing double loss to Recall United Viagra needed a win badly to set their season straight and they gained a hard fought one against the Men. Viagra played 3-4-3 as they went out to attack the Men. However the Men struck first with Millen heading in a close range effort after 6 minutes. Jordan was fed a great cross by Hackworth and he headed in a goal for Viagra a mere 3 minutes later. The game of ping pong carried on as Men took the lead with another header from Johnson before Jordan scored yet again for Viagra with you guessed it a header to make it 2-2! Hackworth who was immense in midfield crossed it in again for Jordan to head in a 3rd goal. The Men were tired and unable to hit back after this. Viagra fought really hard for the win and it was just what they needed after their defeat. Recall United 4-0 Dudezz United easily brushed aside Dudezz as they keep up their double momentum to make their promotion and maybe title credentials clear. Oddly United played 5-4-1 surely for experience sake for younger players as Dudezz created one chance and looked no threat at all. Not that it mattered, Whiteside hit in a direct free kick after 3 minutes and from then on it was just a question of how many. McCartney still on top form scored 2 one a long range shot the other a break away showing his versatility. Whiteside set up Hollingdale for a close range effort as United easily closed the match off. United have never finished above 6th in any league competition but this season are really back on track as their manager has made full use of great talents at his disposal and surely are a favorite to go up. Eights United 1-1 Jaffa Munchers Eights United have been seen as a bit of an underdog in this league but when Munchers set them a challenge after scoring via a McAnuff goal after 3 minutes, United showed they were full of spirit. At times maybe a bit to much, this game had 8 yellow cards and a straight red as both sides fought for their lives to get as much out of the game as they could. Aizenberg was a causality of this rough play as he limped off for the Munchers. United player Ground also was helped off as the play and the cards came flying. United made more and more chances as did the Munchers. But as the Munchers grew more needy for a 2nd goal, striker Poschner dove in for a 50/50 ball and was given a straight red for a two footed tackle. It seemed not to matter until right at the death in injury time Ostbye scored his first ever United goal to the roars of the home crowd. United may be extreme outsiders for promotion but they are full of fight and gave Munchers a bloody nose in this epic encounter. Analysis Most Important Result: Martinists Men 2-3 Discount Viagra, Viagra badly needed a win after the awful double result they had and just about got it. Turned on the Style Award: Recall United, utterly dominant display 7 chances and 62% possession with 4 goals. Player of the Day: Gabriel Jordan, Discount Viagra, amazing hat trick gave his team a much needed win.
Brian Mcoy Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Mcoy was wondering if anyone would want to make any player traders for next season to spice things up a bit? Mcoy is looking for a fair or good deal.
Shorty Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Hah, I didn't get time to set tactics today, in fact I didn't even check who I was up against. My opponent was up for taking the top spot away from me... and it was a bore draw.
Haden Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Unexpected win. Think I might be one win away from the champ now if results go in my favour! Sorry about lack of reports will get one up today.
jayseven Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 MWahahaa! Striker played a 12 skill game, scored a hat-trick! Bumped me up to 4th spot - a comfy position as everyone else will be a game in hand on the last day of the season. Next game against odders - if I get a win then it's all good Feels great to win a game again!
