I read this thread before I checked the site so I originally thought it was Burbage leaving so I was at least a little relieved.

On the plus side I just found out I won a months worth of VIP in the MSE league which is cool.

Abel Thorell is the only retiree. Not surprising, as he is 37.

You're also on the league's Roll of Honour. Well done, lad.

Got archibald coid leaving - 36 years old is understandable. A key player in my midfield but totally understandable. Shouldn't have anyone leaving again for a good few seasons now.

Haden United 1-2 Emo Blades

The Blades secured a shock victory on Friday as they notched up their first victory over an ailing United. With youth goalie in to gain experience for United they always seemed nervous and after 15 minutes youth Canmore headed his first ever goal for the Blades. However just before the half ended new signing Durov headed in his first goal to draw United back into the game. United had 66% of possession but less chances their attack was without their two star strikers and they seemed to be without purpose. The Blades took advantage of this as Zeca who had the game of his life shot in a long range winner. A superb game for the Blades who are now within reach of getting out of the relegation zone. For United this formally ends their title hopes and draws them firmly into the relegation battle.

Dysonism F.C 4-1 AFC ReZs Rabies

Like United vs Blades this was a huge match however in this one the home side did not disappoint and Dysonism swept Rabies aside with style. Dysonism were on the offensive with a 4-3-3 formation and they got off to a great start as Bakboord headed in a goal after 17 minutes. However Rabies striker Gladh who headed in a short range header to bring the game level before half time. Dysonism found it hard to make a breakthrough until Twigg scored two in 3 minutes. The first goal was a header from a corner and the second was a volley from another corner. Twigg had the game of his life and his winning goals were then complimented with a goal from youth striker Boland. This was a crucial win for Dysonism who keep their head above water and improve their goal difference. While for Rabies they badly need to start to get results to pull themselves out of the relegation zone.

The Sixty Fourthers 5-1 Roostophe Rovers

A epic game between what many are saying are now the two teams left standing for the title race, although they may well want to consider the Elites. Whatever the situation this was a must win game for the 64s and they won it in style. With pressure all the time Rovers 3 man defense fell apart and the 64s won the battle of the midfield's even with 4 men vs 5!. They were awarded a penalty after 6 minutes and the captain Haddad stepped up and inspired his team by shooting it in like it was a friendly. A true inspiration, young striker Kamal slotted in his 4th goal of the season a few minutes later. Rovers hit back with a penalty of their own to make it 2-1 however in the 2nd half the 64s had 7 chances to 1 and completely dominated Rovers. Haddad slotted in another penalty as the discipline of Rovers side fell apart. Yaketi then scored his first 2 goals of the season as he struck 2 in before the final whistle. One a long range blistering shot the second a header from close range. The home crowd was ecstatic the ball is now in the 64s court as they are a point behind with a game in hand, there is nothing Rovers can do but keep on winning now.

Cube FC 1-1 Secret United

While Cube FC are down they are not out. They nearly got their first win against fellow promoted side United. Tenant put United ahead but while their midfield created chances, the strikers failed to put any more in. United playing youth players that weren't quite ready for the occasion. Cube FC pushed forward and were given a penalty which young star Maupas drove in for his 13th goal of his Cube FC career. The much soon petered out as neither side were able to score again. However this is Cube FC's first ever game against United that they haven't lost so a small victory for them in hard times. United lost a chance to gain some breathing space and are now in the tight relegation battle.

Analysis

Most Important Result: The Sixty Fourthers 5-1 Roostophe Rovers epic result for the Sixty Fourthers gives them the upper hand in the title race.

Turned on the Style Award: The Sixty Fourthers, 13 chances and 5 goals a superb offensive display!

Player of the Day: Patrick Twigg, Dysonism F.C scored 2 at a crucial time and set the first goal up. Had the game of his career.

Happenstance FC 2-1 Made of Win

Happenstance scored a close victory over Made of Win to take the upper hand in the title race. Free kick specialist Harford curled in a beauty after 3 minutes to give Happenstance the early lead. Ronaldo (who announced recently he would be leaving Happenstance after 1 season) gave his club something to remember him by as he broke away and scored his 9th of the season. Happenstance had two injuries to a defender and their goalie and Made of Win hit back at them after these events and scored a conciliation goal. However Happenstance hung on for the win and now are 3 points behind Tin Can Club with a game in hand and a superior GD.

MadDog United 4-0 Tin Can Club

United scored a shock rout over Tin Can Club who suffered their first defeat in the season. Tin Can Club fielded a slight youth team but the score line will still come as a shock to all. Ullathorpe shone and side footed in a scrappy goal to give United the lead. Ullathorpe later set up Carpenter who shimmied past a defender to break away and beat the goalie 1 on 1. Ullathorpe hit in another one to the delight of the home crowd, a 4th sealed the win and was scored in extra time. A supreme display for United who have big momentum behind them now. Tin Can Club will want to recover quickly and will seek to earn a big win in their next game to prove they are still top dogs.

Soap Box Utd 4-2 Party at Richters

Two abandoned teams clashed in a entertaining game. Alfen scored a hat trick for Utd from a free kick, penalty and a header much to the delight of the home crowd. Richters had a forward as their goalie and have seemed to have totally lost the plot without their manager. However Larkin and Culkin scored a goal each to make the game competitive. What does the next season hold for these two teams? Well you would have thought Division 1 football or non existence, hopefully managers can be found or old managers will return.

Noodle FC 0-3 Silverdale FC

An incredible result for off form Silverdale as they thrashed Noodle FC away from home. Playing a 4-5-1 formation Silverdale dominated chances made with 8 against 2. Noodle FC played two youth players in midfield who failed to make an impact on the game. On the other hand Silverdales players, especially Riley utterly shone. Riley set up the first goal a shot by McBrain. After the break Noodle FC failed to attack Silverdale who continued to hit back at them. Riley took a shot for nothing which looped into the net and then set up Hatharway who finished the game off with a cool ground shot. Surely it is to late for Silverdale to be promoted but it seems now they are not going to get relegated. Who knows what surprises they hold, as for Noodle FC he still is primed to be promoted but this may be a result he looks back on when he counts up his points at the end of the season.

Analysis

Most Important Result: MadDog United 4-0 Tin Can Club, Another 4-0 win for United, the first defeat for Tin Can Club after 11 games the title race got blown wide open.

Turned on the Style Award: Silverdale FC, bundles of chances they really showed how to beat a team with style.

Player of the Day: Val Ullathorpe, MadDog United, scored 2 and set 1 up really helped his team get such an amazing result.

Complete Domstercool 2-2 Mcoys Sons

The only team in any league not to lose a game held on by the skin of their teeth in a thrilling match. Domstercool struck first as Rodwell put away his 2nd goal of the campaign, Woozley who had a great game set Curtis up to smash one in from outside the box. However after half time Tusken put Domstercool in the lead and they seemed to have the Sons on the run. The Sons pushed forward desperate to keep their unbeaten record. Flores was through on goal after 4 minutes of extra time had been played, before Domstercool defender Cardwell hacked him down as he ran through, he was given a straight red. As play restarted the Sons knew they had seconds to do something and Woozley lobbed the ball into the area where Jevons struck the ball into the top right corner of the net. A thrilling game that keeps Sons top and unbeaten and has put a big dent in Domstercools promotion dreams.

Tellstorm 0-1 DuDs Baggies

DuDs Baggies scored an important win to equal Sons on points and take a big step to promotion. Baggies went 4-3-3 against the 4-4-2 of Tellstorm and pushed for the victory. Allman headed in a curling cross that was put in the box by Gilchrist. Tellstorm had nothing to offer and Baggies deserved the victory. They are now surely all but promoted and might now see the title as their goal, will look to improve their GD in their next game.

Recall United 0-2 Jaffa Munchers

Two mid table teams that promotion dreams are almost over clashed today putting forward very different systems. United played a 5-4-1 formation and secured more chances than the Munchers who played 3-4-3. However the Munchers formation allowed them when they did get chances to bound forward and attack. The early pressure resulted in a penalty for the Munchers which was converted by their goalie! Just before the end of the game Geller broke away from the United defense and slotted in the 2nd goal. After 3 straight losses this was much needed for the Munchers. Both teams could still be promoted but it seems very unlikely now a season in the lower league refining their teams that do have great potential.

Battlestar Odwinica 4-0 Mike Strikes FC

Odwinica after their double defeat of Munchers seem to be favorites to go up with Baggies and the Sons. They inevitably demolished Strikes FC even while playing a relatively young side. 66% possession and 11 chances for Odwinica was aided by a dominant midfield display by Gullian who set up two goals one for youth Oliver who struck in a sweet shot. Gullian then scored himself after volleying home a free kick. Groves hit one in from outside the box to make it 4 and get his 2nd goal of the campaign. Groves has defiantly been overshadowed by Gullian this season and will have to fight for his place next campaign. Odwinica now looks favorite to qualify and may well be worrying and preparing for life in the championship.

Analysis

Most Important Result: Complete Domstercool 2-2 Mcoys Sons, Sons are now the only team who haven't been beaten in all the leagues and are surely promoted after this resilient display.

Turned on the Style Award: Battlestar Odwinica, great offensive display even with a youth team.

Player of the Day: Mcoys Sons, Preston Woozley, assisted in the two goals for the Sons not bad for a defender!

I've changed my tactics and formation for my next game twice already. If I wake up in time, I'll probably change them again. The decision to either stick for a draw or go all-out and LOSE BIG TIME is a tough one... I know my boys have played well recently but there's a lot of FEAR at the moment... I've generally performed well against 64thers, so I really need to look at the fixtures and calculate a few things.

The fact that gaggle NEVER changes his tactics confounds me...

Very tense moment when I checked how I did.

Mostly because I saw that someone had posted in this thread and I though: "I should set my tactics"

That was 2 minutes ago...

But hey everything went great.

1-0... Top of the league :yay:

I gave a fair bit of respect to Recall for that match after drawing 0-0 at theirs, but i got through his 5 man defense within the first 5 mins.

I also took out his best player.. at the expense of losing mine, although his player got properly injured :heh:

I rock. Boo ya. My team is averaging 8/9 skill. Wishing I'd not been so scared at the start of the season and pushed for more than a draw.

Got ANOTHER manager of the round, got the best defense in teh league and nearly the best goal diff too. BUT I'm not out of the relegation battle by a fair old way. Big game against villan on friday... gulp.
