EEVILMURRAY Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 For I know there are many Charlie Brooker fans here ¬_¬. I know this topic won't last long, feel free to delete it in a few hours, it's merely a forum public announcement. http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?event=10&channelId=132&programmeId=99527064&jspLocation=/jsp/prog_details_fullpage.jsp Details here!
ReZourceman Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Damn right I'll be watching that shit. David Mitchell + Charlie Brooker? Erm...yes.
Roostophe Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I'll be sure to make my eyes see this. All four of them.
dwarf Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Was going to make the thread but thankfully checked first to prevent another dickhead move from myself. I'd prefer a new Screenwipe series but anything with Brooker in has to be brilliant so I can't wait. The guy uses swearing to unbelievable comic effect and there's so much to like about him.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 It's on in a few mins. CHANNEL FOUR PEOPLE.
dwarf Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 It was quite good but as a 'quiz show' it doesn't quite work somehow. As I said I'd prefer another screenwipe.
Dan_Dare Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I absolutely must watch Deadliest Warrior. That was fucking hilarious
Sheikah Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I wasn't all that impressed...it's a bit dumbed down and nowhere near the fast-paced brilliance of Screenwipe. Having an audience there to laugh doesn't work quite as well as the silence you normally get...heh. It's better when he's rattling off loads of words rather than less content with minor celebrities having their input. Some parts of it weren't bad though, so it's still worth watching.

Nailed everything there. Canned laughter (or real audience laughter) just doesn't work.
Molly Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I only watched the first bit, Jamelia was acting like such an airhead; I couldn't cope.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 Jamelia had varnished her legs or something, I needed sunglasses everytime they were on screen.
ReZourceman Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I thought it started off a bit meh, but it really picked up. Just a poppy, celebrity-upped version of his usual stuff, so I really enjoyed it. Rufus/Roofus I adore that guy hes a fucking legend. Should be good with good celebrities too. Jimeelyia is a nice enough girl, just a bit of a tool, and hitler was meh...
Dyson Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Absolutely agree with you ReZ. It started off really weak and I was finding it hard to enjoy, but it really picked up after a while and me and my mate were laughing our socks off at a lot of it. Deadliest Warrior looks AMAZING. Taliban vs IRA had me and thunderer pissing ourselves, it was epic. But yeah, drop a lot of the opening gags and get right in there and it'd have been much better.
Chris the great Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 any one else hear about gamewipe mento to be coming out?
Dyson Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 He is indeed, will probably be a oneshot apparantly, but should be good.
Dan_Dare Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Absolutely agree with you ReZ. I love the second guy's reaction to deadliest warrior: 'I fucking loved it!' I was close to tears watching the bit where that guy went at the jelly corpse with the kebab skewers/ deadly shaolin monk knives. seriously: We all need to watch that show.
Dyson Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Me too. But the face on the Taliban actor when he saw the bomb was classic. ME and thunderer actually were crying with laughter at the skewers bit; absolutely insane show by the looks of it, MUST WATCH
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 On again tonight, and on their Twitter they were asking for people's opinions on Jeremy Kyle [most coincidental considering the thread we had] Maybe we'll get some sexy input from the Brooker.
dwarf Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 This is the only thing keeping me ticking over today, has been pretty boring other than playing tennis.
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 This is the only thing keeping me ticking over today, has been pretty boring other than playing tennis. I mentioned some shizzle on his Twitter, as well as linking him to The Gringo Asylum. Y'never know, they might even mention my stuff
dwarf Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 It isn't live though is it? Or do you mean for next show?
EEVILMURRAY Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 It isn't live though is it? Or do you mean for next show? Not live, but it's filmed close to screening time. So if it was filmed last night, it's possible.
