I presume this is the trailer for the Wii version, as it's the only console listed at the end of the trailer:

Looking forward to Grand Slam Tennis WAY more than this!

id say but will be amazing games.. but virtua tennis seems to make even more use of the motionplus... my question is....

they release their games around the same time why wasnt this done years ago?

Brilliant. I've been waiting for Virtua Tennis for the Wii, pretty much ever since the Wii and motion controller were announced.

The IGN previews suggest that the Wii version will lack nothing that the other versions have (except HD obviously). So we'll get online matches and all the other stuff.

I found a kind of making of video here:

Also it supports the MotionPlus add-on.

Virtua Tennis (1 & 2) were amongst my favourite games on the Dreamcast, and I've never played Virtua Tennis 3 since I don't own those consoles. So I'm really looking forward to this. :D

Ahhh I just don't know which game to get. EA must be applauded for their efforts and yet they've never made a tennis game in their history (shoxxors!). I'll hang around for reviews but I really like the art style in EA's game - and it will come with M+.

Time to sit back and wait me thinks - Especially now this has been slightly delayed in the US.

TANGENT: Been playing Smash Tennis on the SNES today. would LOVE Namco to get an update of this on the Wii. WHAT. A. GAME.

Grand Slam Tennis is exciting me more. But we'll see. Last year I would have just bought them both, but I'm a changed man now :) The only thing Virtua has going for it is online...could be good...

Impressions will dictate my purchase

Grand Slam Tennis has online I thought...

It indeed does, and that's actually one of the things EA are bigging up about it. Not sure if they've released full details of it yet.

That's what I thought; both Tiger and Tennis are online, though Tigers been given a Pay & Play logo, so we'll have to see if Tennis does aswell, and what will happen regarding Pay & Play in Europe.

Oh...excuse my ignorance... Well Virtua will have to play a mean game of tennis to come close to me getting that then as Grand Slam looks better in EVERY department

Every review of the game seems to mention this as the ultimate tennis game, but none care to compare it to Grand Slam Tennis. Bizarre.

Edit: I demand that remark be stricken from the record your Honour! What I meant was, no clear comparisons.

VT is alright. It's fun to play in the beginning. But after a while it's get's too repitive and easy. I played the amateur tour for 15 hours, winning 60+ tournaments and 200+ match streak before advancing to the proffesional tour. Then it was another 15 straight tournaments on the lowest level of tournaments before I advanced to the higher leveled tournaments. Then it suddenly became too difficult. A problem I had on the highest level of tournaments on the amateur tour, and now on the mid levels of the pro tour, is that the opponents have some ridiciolous recovery times. Rallies could last over 50 times over the net, sometimes even a 100. My record is 106.

You can change your characters ability, like "strong forehand" or "serve and volley" but you can only have one at a time and I'm not sure if they make a difference. It's all in the racket I think, you can buy new ones everytime you win a sponsor match against a real life player.

It's almost impossible to make an error. I had 4 UE in 20 hours of play.

It got 20 or so minigames, but I sucked at them and you don't really need to play them. They give you experience points which again gives you new abilites, but as I said, they're not that important.

I have the 360 version.

You've played Grand Slam for 20 hours already?

And you got the 360 version of VT? Why? Not directly a fair comparison then is it?

Anyone up for some late night Grand Slam later?
