  1. EA Sports: Grand Slam Tennis!

    Where does he say that?
  2. EA Sports: Grand Slam Tennis!

Hopefully in the Virtua Tennis thread. Using the Grand Slam tennis thread to discuss Virtua Tennis is getting confusing!
  3. Factor 5 working on Wii

"Factor 5 officially shuts doors": http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/05/factor-5-officially-shuts-doors.ars
  4. EA Sports: Grand Slam Tennis!

I'm veering much more towards Virtua Tennis. With Virtua Tennis, you know you're getting a fabulous tennis game that's really great fun to play, whereas Grand Slam tennis is a bit of an unknown quanity. I might pick both up if Grand Slam gets good reviews. Nice to have options though.
  5. Virtua Tennis 2009

Brilliant. I've been waiting for Virtua Tennis for the Wii, pretty much ever since the Wii and motion controller were announced. The IGN previews suggest that the Wii version will lack nothing that the other versions have (except HD obviously). So we'll get online matches and all the other stuff. I found a kind of making of video here: Also it supports the MotionPlus add-on. Virtua Tennis (1 & 2) were amongst my favourite games on the Dreamcast, and I've never played Virtua Tennis 3 since I don't own those consoles. So I'm really looking forward to this.
  6. SEGA Superstars Tennis

... I expect it to be excellent. It can't go far wrong, being based on Virtua Tennis.
  7. Virtual Console - All you need to know

Ooh, Phantasy Star II, cool. Phantasy Star IV is awesome, so I'm glad they've finally started adding the PS games to the VC. (The first one was on the Master System.)
  8. SEGA Superstars Tennis

Haha, there's a House of the Dead court in the trailer! Looks fantastic. I'm a bit miffed that there's no online mode for the Wii version, but I don't really mind because I don't play online games anyway. Last one I played was Dreamcast Chu Chu Rocket (which would work brilliantly with the wiimote, I think).
  9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

I don't really appreciate (or even fully understand) this sort of statement. --- from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gay (Only quoting adjective definitions, because that's how you're using it.) If you mean meanings 1-3, then yes, certainly; that's the whole point. If you mean, as I expect, meanings 5/6, then it has nothing to do with that. I am fully aware that everyone has different opinions, based on their experiences. For me the music envokes lots of happy childhood memories of having a great deal of fun. Clearly it doesn't for you, perhaps you never played the game, but I'm bewildered as to why you'd describe it as homosexual. For example, I've never played a Kirby game. When I look at it I just see a ludicrous pink blob with a too-happy face. However, I wouldn't describe it as "gay", because I know other people with different experiences have really enjoyed it. Indeed, you appear to have gone so far as to base your username on it. That's fine, of course; it has as little to do with homosexuality as the Sonic music.
  10. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

Haha, that's awesome! This music would suit it better though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Wf-7BCI7pE
  11. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

This is fantastic. I just got Rocket NiGHTS. I've only played Will's stroy so far, looking forward to the other. Anyone tried online play yet? At the moment i'm loving the offline game.
  12. SEGA Superstars Tennis

What are you talking about? They did Virtua Tennis 3 and Virtua Tennis World Tour (PSP). (See the web site you linked to!) Hitmaker (previously AM3) did VT1 and VT2.
  13. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Wiimote + Nunchuck is much better.
  14. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

I got NiGHTS, Ghost Squad and Zack & Wiki today. Played them all a little bit. NiGHTS is as magnificent as I'd hoped. It has the most enthralling atmosphere and is immensely fun while flying. Ghost Squad is just great to pick up and blast stuff for a few minutes. It's got me excited about the House of the Dead release. Zack and Wiki is okish. Seems a bit tedious: being stopped and told how to do obvious stuff all the time, with banal dialogue, instead of just getting on with playing it. I expect it will improve as I get further though. Anyway, I'm enjoying NiGHTS most at the moment.
  15. SEGA Superstars Tennis

GAME have a boxart up. Dunno if it's the real final one though. http://www.game.co.uk/Wii/Sport/Tennis/~r333470/Sega-Superstar-Tennis/

  18. SEGA Superstars Tennis

Well, whatever the gameplay turns out like, at least we know the music will be great; Richard Jacques is doing it. There's an interview with him here: http://www.sonic-city.com/en/articles/1793.html Also, there's screenshots of a NiGHTS stage and the JSR stage here: http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/2008/01/very-important-news-about-sega.html
  19. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

7.5 from Gamespot, who give it pretty good write-up on the whole. http://uk.gamespot.com/wii/action/nightsjourneyofdreams/review.html?sid=6184120 I'm still looking forward to it, anyway.

  21. Skies of Arcadia Sequel On The Way?

Skies of Arcadia is my favourite game of all time. I loved the playable demo that came with an issue of a Dreamcast magazine. I completed it over an over until I bought the game on the day of its release. Then I got the GameCube version when that was released a few years later. I find it hard to get excited over a rumor of a sequel. There have been countless rumors of a Skies of Arcadia sequel for years. However, if they are making a sequel and it's anywhere near as good as the original, it will be an outstanding game. I don't see why they'd choose to release it on the Wii though. After all it didn't sell well on the GameCube. The core Nintendo fans who had a GameCube tended to turn their noses up at anything that wasn't first party or exclusive, even if it was as awesome as Skies. Mind you, the Wii is a lot more popular than the GameCube was, and the Wii is the only "next gen" console I have, so I hope it comes to the Wii.
  22. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

Wow, beautiful. Thanks pedrocasilva. I love the art style and colours in those new screenshots. Hopefully Sonic Team have regained their edge and will produce a sequel worthy of the original NiGHTS.
  23. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games

    1. That's a gross exaggeration. 2. He's quite fast at accelerateing on the flat (uphill he's slow). 3. The NTSC version (which runs at the correct speed) is much faster than the PAL version. 4. Spin dash, super peel out.
  24. Sega: "Wii Will Look Dated Soon"

Not strictly true. Puyo Pop Fever was a decent puzzle game and I certainly wouldn't say no to a Phantasy Star game on the Wii.
  25. Sega: "Wii Will Look Dated Soon"

No, some guy at SEGA said it and then took it back. I think you're being a bit unfair. It's a port of an arcade game, whereas Mario Galaxy, Metroid etc are wii exclusives which either have been in development for ages before 3rd partys had access to Wii development kits (Mario) or been developed teams with a huge amount of Gamecube experience (Metroid). Really, what do you expect? The old arcade port to look better than Nintendo's main star titles? As for this, IGN also say that the NiGHTS they saw was alpha quality.
