Darkspine S Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Yeah, I know the whole viewpoint of remakes and ports on Wii is less than welcome right now, but this is frickin Klonoa! Revealed in Famitsu; http://img152.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=43211_up305245_122_1199lo.jpg (Sorry, I'm not sure how to stick up pictures yet. ) I loved that series on the playstation, so I'll be getting this one. Looks pretty good from the scans too.

darksnowman Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Well, I haven't played Klonoa but its a series that keeps popping up now and again in discussion so a Wiimake for someone like me, who hasn't touched the series before, is a good thing.
Zero Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I loved this series back on the Playstation. I'll be watching this one.
darkjak Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I've only played the original for the PSOne, but it doesen't seem to be that good of a franchise. Definitelly not something I'll be buying.
Hellfire Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Fuck Yeah ! Klonoa is awesome, platforming lives!
nekunando Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I have never played a Klonoa game before.. but I enjoy a good platformer I'll keep an eye on this if there are good impressions of it.. and, to be honest, I'm already more interested in this that any of the new sonic games (which I don't seem to care about at all..)
Tellyn Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Heck yeah! I've only played Klonoa Beach Volleyball on the PS1 or 2, quite a few years ago now but it was really enjoyable.
Dyson Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Awesome news. Absolutely loved the demo on the PS1!
DazzeL Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Awesome news. Absolutely loved the demo on the PS1! lol, I'm exactly the same. I never bought the game (being a poor kid) and it wasn't big enough to "use" a birthday or xmas on so I just endlessly played the demo from the discs that Official Playstation Magazine gave away. Ahhh those were the days. So easily pleased and, to be fair, treated by classics like MGS and FF7. :p
Blue_Ninja0 Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I wanted more platformers. It seems this is good.
Slaggis Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I used to play the demo of the sequel on the PS2 all the time, I loved it. If this is as good as that, I'll most definitely be buying this.
Zero Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Sold! It really does look like a good old school title. Can't wait for it now.
Gentleben Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I never played this game but it kinda looks like it has a kirby platform feel. It also reminds me of another Saturn platform based game called Pandemonium. Anyone remember it?
Zero Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I never played this game but it kinda looks like it has a kirby platform feel. It also reminds me of another Saturn platform based game called Pandamoniam. Anyone remember it? Pandamoniam was awesome. I don't remember much of it now but, it was always fun playing it. If you like Kirby, you should like this.
Rowan Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I remember playing the demo a lot on the demo disc that came with the PS2 and I quite enjoyed it. Will be keeping an eye out on how this game turns out
pedrocasilva Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 really needed detailed shadows, it's really the thing that stands out as wrong in this game. Other than that, nice, hope they somehow remake Klonoa 2 as well (not port without updating) and then... head over for Klonoa 3!
Jonnas Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Pandemonium is exactly what this game reminded me of. really needed detailed shadows, it's really the thing that stands out as wrong in this game. Gah! Stop it! That doesn't matter! It's a cartoony art style for god's sake!
pedrocasilva Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Gah! Stop it! That doesn't matter! It's a cartoony art style for god's sake!without detailed shadows that should be there. That's like replying "it's a cartoony game" to someone that says "the textures are crap"
Jonnas Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 without detailed shadows that should be there. That's like replying "it's a cartoony game" to someone that says "the textures are crap" Not really. One can easily argue that realistic shadows aren't needed in an unrealistic world. Round shadows (usually used in less realistic environments) work well, and IMO fit better. Anyway, I don't really feel like discussing graphical quality, as it's the least important factor of a game.
Fruitgun Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I just really... REALLY hope waggle doesn't involve much in this. Don't get me wrong, I think it might be sorta cool to swing it to get the enemies and such, but I'd just WAAAYYY prefer it without
darksnowman Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Pandemonium is exactly what this game reminded me of. I played Pandemonium a fair bit on the PS1 back in the day, and despite my staunch pro-N64 stance, it was definitely a quality wee game.
DazzeL Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Again, Pandemonium is another one I spent ages playing the demo of. If I remember correctly (and I think I do :p) it came on the same demo disc as GTA 1. Legendary times.
