Guest Jordan Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Can't wait for this one . I can't believe its so close! Wee!
Dan_Dare Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Actually want a ps3 for this (and the eventual new Wipeout) very little else on the system I really want, though, so bleh
Aimless Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I've always been rubbish at wipEout, but for £12 it would be rude not to give the series another shot. Given that the game is made in the UK I'd assume it will also be up on the EU Store come the 25th, but it might be worth bearing in mind that nothing's been announced as yet. Best not to get your hopes up until it's actually on your HDD.
Hero-of-Time Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Ive just seen this over on GT forums and it sums up the Wipeout games very nicely EDIT: Eurogamer has reviewed it and gave it a 9/10 http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=238638

The PSP games are definately the best in the series.
Solo Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Looks nice but I too was always rubbish at Wipeout. Gimme F-Zero GX any day please.
tapedeck Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 It's 1080p - Doesn't that make it one of the first PS3 games to run in such a format as all of mine currently go to 720p outside of the XMB. Mind you, it's not like I've played every PS3 game... Looks awesome though. Custom soundtracks means some old skool 90's dance will be making its way to my HDD.
That Guy Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Wow, £12 is pretty good. I shall be buying.
Daft Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 At last, some more futuristic racing! It's been ages since I've played one and Wipeout looks awesome. I wish F-Zero looked this good.
flameboy Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Dammit....had convinced myself this wasn't coming anytime soon....so picked up Pure on PSP...not gonna play 2 wipeout games at the same time.
LegoMan1031 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Sounds amazing. So now for the bad bad.... How much of my precious HDD is this going to take up?
Daft Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Sounds amazing. So now for the bad bad.... How much of my precious HDD is this going to take up? I've heard some people say it is just under 1Gb. Seems about right to be honest. There are only 8 tracks (that isn't a complaint btw). Obviously that'll go up when more DLC is released for it.
dwarf Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I would get this immediatly were it not for the shortage of tracks: 8?! c'mon!
Daft Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I would get this immediatly were it not for the shortage of tracks: 8?! c'mon! For £12.99? You can do them all in mirror and DLC coming out later. It isn't like there won't be replayablity with all the online, split screen and the like. I really don't think it's a bad deal.

Obviously that'll go up when more DLC is released for it. Yer ok, wasn't as bad as i was expecting, lol. Tar. I don't care, 8 tracks ain't enough, sorry I would have to disagree, the phrase 'u get what u paid for' defiantly applies here. And if u want to pay more to get more tracks then as Daft said there will be DLC in the future.
Daft Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Can someone explain to me what Zone mode is?
Guest Jordan Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Zone mode is jaw-some. You basically start on the lowest speed and you race around the track to a time limit. Then depending on the rules, the speed increases and increases and increases by lap or by x amount of seconds. It gets fucking intense tbh.
Deathjam Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 That sounds awesome. I like speed. I assume you also like blood pouring from your eyes. Ah yes you do, you have burnout too
Daft Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I assume you also like blood pouring from your eyes. Ah yes you do, you have burnout too First think on my check list when I buy a game nowadays.
Cookyman Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 MMMMMM just had an hour of Wipeout goodness - what a cracking game, online is great too!
