Zechs Merquise Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I've bought it. Just waiting for it to get despatched says 3 days. You won't regret it. It's amazing! The graphics are stunning, I was blown away by it. The gameplay is superb and the sword play really works. This should have been a million seller.

daftada Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 It's definitely worth it at that price, hell i bought it full price and i still felt i got my moneys worth! As Zechs said it looks amazing and the samurai/wild west theme is such a breath of fresh air in a market choc-full of space marines and ww2 FPSs.

As Zechs said it looks amazing and the samurai/wild west theme is such a breath of fresh air in a market choc-full of space marines and ww2 FPSs. I not only loved the settings, but I also loved the colour palette used. It was so vibrant and just enjoyable to look at. Sadly though if you showed that to the average consumer they would rather look at the 'more realistic' original Red Steel or a balding space marine. It's sad how badly this sold, I really hope people will pick it up at this price and give it a try, It's a bargain and I'm sure people won't be disappointed.
nekunando Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 It's a bargain and I'm sure people won't be disappointed. ..so far, I am disappointed
Zechs Merquise Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 ..so far, I am disappointed Wow, sorry to hear that! What are you finding you don't like?
nekunando Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Wow, sorry to hear that! What are you finding you don't like? I made a post on it about a week ago in another thread.. I haven't played it again yet.. been concentrating on Golden Sun
darksnowman Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Anyone else think Red Steel 2 might have benefited from a more traditional mission structure? This style of being almost open world seems maybe too betwixt and between.
flameboy Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Anyone else think Red Steel 2 might have benefited from a more traditional mission structure? This style of being almost open world seems maybe too betwixt and between. BUMP and YES. Quoting you because this how I feel and its making me hate the game. I actually came in this thread to make this very same point. Finally got round to starting this game and have found the mission structure frustrating. I always find you end up back at the "hub" areas with mission board and/or that girl. Just find it so frustrating and annoying that am always going back to these points and then having to walk some way before being in the mission area. I can't see any reason for doing this other than to make the game longer. It's a shame because I love the gameplay mechanics, I love the combat, I love the graphics, I love the setting. Although also I hate all the characters I've met so far not one of them is interesting. I'm not far into the game yet still getting tutorials off that old asian bloke last one I did was to learn the tiger hoping there won't be many more...
lostmario Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Oh my god... my eyes were not ready for this game... its looks FANTASTIC! Had a quick go on it last night (10-15 minutes), the controls feel great and the graphics are amazing (I spent 5 minutes just looking at trees, building etc). Really looking forward to putting some hours into this. Also, nice to have a proper game to use motionplus with. Thanks to Zechs for recommending it while we were playing Black Ops.
nekunando Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 How have you found the shooting aspect having coming from Call of Duty: Black Ops, lostmario? The last time I attempted to play Red Steel 2 I was extremely disappointed... but my previous posts have already explained that I'll definitely have to give it another go in the near future..

I use the classic controller pro for Black Ops so can't really compare it to that. Shooting seemed fine, didn't have any problems. The fact I only played it for 15 minutes and the controls clicked straight away for me is a good sign. Everyone is different tho.

Pleased you like it! It does look fantastic, some of the areas have the most beautiful colour palettes. It really does look first party quality!
Wii Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Good to see you're enjoying this game lostmario as your taste in games is along my lines. I have yet to remove the wrapper from this game. It's yet another game on my backlog. It looks great from any of the previews I've seen though.
LostOverThere Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 This game also has a really amazing soundtrack, too! Example: Audio EVERYONE LISTEN NOW.
darksnowman Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 EVERYONE LISTEN NOW. Yes sir. *salutes* (*and listens*)
LostOverThere Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Yes sir. *salutes* (*and listens*) THAT'S THE SPIRIT, SON.
lostmario Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 (edited) Finished this tonight, a really enjoyable game. The build up to the final battle was great unfortunately due to upgrading all my weapons and attacks to near max, I defeated him in like a minute... a bit of an anti climax. For the price you can pick this up now, I'd highly recommend it to everyone. Edited May 11, 2011 by lostmario

For the price you can pick this up now, I'd highly recommend it to everyone. I loved it all, but if you do fully upgrade EVERYTHING, you're basically like the Terminator. I think most people won't upgrade it all though as I think the idea is that you choose what you specialise in. I however went around hitting everything to earn extra money and literally ground out every upgrade possible lol!
Kav Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I've just picked this up for £5 pre-owned, I think I'll give it a whirl tonight!

Found it so easy and brain numbingly so. I havn't finished it yet just got bored.
