Darkspine S Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 No you essentially have City Folk Anyone found WiiSpeak alone yet? Argos are selling it separately in their new Christmas catalogue, although I hope the price they have it at in there is merely speculative; £25 is way too much for any Microphone.
dazzybee Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 But why would someone buy it without Animal Crossing Seriously, if the game doesn't appeal to you, you won't have anything else to use it with!
Hero-of-Time Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 £30. It'll fall under, since if it's £29.99 it won't apply. If you include FE and AC in the same order though, you'll get £3 off the overall total. Or you could do what I usually do and order some wrapping paper ( 99p ) to make it over £30.
Tellyn Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Argos are selling it separately in their new Christmas catalogue, although I hope the price they have it at in there is merely speculative; £25 is way too much for any Microphone. The bundle is £20 more on GAME than the normal product, they're likely to be cheaper when bought together. £25 might be right, or it could be even more.
Guest Maase Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I'm now convincing my sister to buy Animal Crossing with the Wii Speak. She fell into it, now i just need my mother to accept. 61 Euros... Sigh...
ShadowV7 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Eek, if it's actually £25 for the Mic alone, I might just get Aninal Crossing then. I want that damn Wii Speak channel though!
Hellfire Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I'm now convincing my sister to buy Animal Crossing with the Wii Speak. She fell into it, now i just need my mother to accept. 61 Euros... Sigh... Man, back in the N64 days, we had to pay €70-75 for a game.
Guest Maase Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Geez, really? Well, i'm gladly happy in comparision, then
Hellfire Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Geez, really? Well, i'm gladly happy in comparision, then 360 and PS3 games cost 70€ too :/ At least it's easier to find bargains and used games than it was before. I was talking with a friend on MSN the other day with my mic and I had other people in my room trying to talk and it came to me that I could really use something like Wii Speak, which made me even more convinced that it's pretty cool for an Animal Crossing experience.
Gentleben Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Question-I'm ordering this from the GAME website (The Bundle) if I select the free delivery will it mean I get it on day of release or will I have to wait?
dazzybee Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 You'll still get it early. The thursday most likely. The express delivery wont change a thing! Waste of money
Gentleben Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 You'll still get it early. The thursday most likely. The express delivery wont change a thing! Waste of money Thanks, now I can safely order and use all my saved reward points to discount the game price a little.
Tellyn Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 You'll still get it early. The thursday most likely. The express delivery wont change a thing! Waste of money Thanks for telling me. I'll cancel the order and re-order it with free delivery.
ShadowV7 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Express delivery is just a con. Free delivery will get you it the day after it's dispatched.
welsh_gamer Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Eek, if it's actually £25 for the Mic alone, I might just get Aninal Crossing then. I want that damn Wii Speak channel though! £17.99 at HMV
dazzybee Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 So it's cheaper to buy the game and wiispeak separately!?!! Doesn't make sense!
Tellyn Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 So it's cheaper to buy the game and wiispeak separately!?!! Doesn't make sense! Question is, do you trust HMV in getting the game to you before/on the release day? I waited for months on end for a Classic Controller that never came. EDIT: Wait, it's not really cheaper considering with the GAME bundle you can use that code I provided earlier. GAME bundle + code = cheaper than HMV.
flameboy Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Well got emails off GAME saying the price had gone down to 34.99 then 29.99....I'm no way paying £49.99 for the bundle....why of why do you have to use the wii speak mic? Why can't I just use a normal headset...
david.dakota Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Why can't I just use a normal headset... Blame the paedophiles. On one hand, i like the idea of the sound coming from the tv. Makes more sense. However, i'm concerned that a 'social mic' won't be up to the job of picking up voices without background sound.
Darkspine S Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Might explain the high price if there's advanced Noise-Cancelling Technology in there. Doesn't make the impact on the wallet any less though.
ThePigMarcher Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Looks like it'll just be the game for me for the time being then , no way am I forking out that amount extra just for WiiSpeak at this time. May pick it up at a later date , depending on how much it'll get implemented into other future titles.
darksnowman Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Might explain the high price if there's advanced Noise-Cancelling Technology in there. Doesn't make the impact on the wallet any less though. I don't think any sites or mags have had any playtests with it yet, but you could be right because didn't Nintendo say that the Wii Speak thingummy was meant to be able to single out the voices and remove other background noise...?
dazzybee Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Theres been a few playtests with it, IGN had one recently in a quiet room. Sounded good but not overly impressive, noise filtering is meant to be good, but people directly facing the speak were much louder then people from the sides; I still think it's an unbelievable rip off; and dread the pricing for wiimotionplus
ShadowV7 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Well the reason they didn't out WiiMotion+ earlier was due to the pricing, so now it must be a decent price for them to include it. If it was expensive they wouldn't bother yet, especially if they're thinking of adding it in to Wii Motes in the future. Though it's obvious that people infront would be louder than the folk at the sides wouldn't it? It filters sound and not the volume, right? Or am I missing something?
