spirited away Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 My weight's been playing on my mind a bit recently and I was wondering If anyone had any tips to gain weight. Even though my mass doesn't change much, I feel as if i'm edging into the underweight cateogory - I wan't to do something about it if I could. Problem is i've never really put on weight easily (no matter how large my meals) and I've been going to the gym/ weight training for 3 years now, so everything I put on, just goes stright away. I also want to bulk up to improve my figure - looks strange when you're slim and have been using heavy weights. I'ts not a major deal, but something I wouldn't mine changing if there's anything I can do. Cheers

Slaggis Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I'd love to do the same thing. But however much I eat, I don't put on an ounce of weight. It's really bugs me sometimes (Yes I know I'm moaning about being able to eat whatever I want, but I just dislike being so thin).

Come back when you have some real problems Anyway the secret to my magnificent weight gain was chocolate, digestive biscuits and sausage rolls whilst simultaneously cutting out most forms of exercise. The pressures of doing exams might have helped as well but I'm not sure

Eat carbs as jordan said, with you exercising you should be exceeding 2500 calories a day

Chris the great Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 yeah, protine shakes, pleanty of red meat, not to much cardio. its the same position im getting into, ive lost more weight then i realised, looking back at old photos makes me realise i was actualy fat. now the weights almost gone im going to try and convert whats left to muscle. just make sure you stay off the saturated fats, you can be skinny and still fuck your heart.

I don't, I've being doing free weights for 3 years as well (fuck running) - not muscle gaining that's the problem...maybe I should have a proper meal for lunch, now im off school - would eating pasta/stirfry instead of a sandwich/crips e.t.c be better for building up? Question: where can you buy protein shakes Bard? Strider I'd be happy to accept any donations
The Bard Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 You can get some pretty good, flavoured protein shakes pretty cheap at Holland and Barrets. They also do Creatine supplements, which helps muscle gain quite a lot.

Playing football the other day never felt so hard. I wouldn't call myself overly fat at the minute but it is starting to annoy me. During the summer I plan to actually make an effort to lose weight. I'll have enough free time

Eat as you normally do, but go out of your way to eat as much protein as possible. That way you'll gain muscle mass, and since protein takes more calories to break down into amino acids, you won't put on fat either. Win.

BlueStar Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I've never been able to put on weight, guess it's genetic cos my dad's built like a sparra as well. What worked for me was waiting until I hit 26 and suddenly realising I was developing a beer belly and moobs.

Not that Im anorexic but I weight 60 kgs and Im 1.79 tall anyway- Just eat everything your mum tells you so. It works
