Daft Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Stargate Universe has aired. Anyone watched it? I'm about to.
Happenstance Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Stargate Universe has aired. Anyone watched it? I'm about to. As I mentioned in the Stargate thread, i'll be waiting until Tuesday and watch it on Sky One
Ashley Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 It would seem the writing is on the wall for Dollhouse. Stay tuned...because it probably won't be around for long
Cube Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 It would seem the writing is on the wall for Dollhouse. Stay tuned...because it probably won't be around for long I'm still pleasantly surprised that there is a second season.
Ashley Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Mhm but the latest rumblings are we may only see another episode or two at best.
Ashley Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 To be fair, it was Fox that canceled TSCC not Whedon :p It made more business sense to choose Dollhouse (as its cheaper) even if TSCC was better. Still, Glau is going to be on Dollhouse...if the episodes air.
Dan_Dare Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 That kind of....really sucks. Why such a turn around? I know the choice for season 2 was odd but did like...nobody watch it? at all?
Ashley Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Pretty much. The opener had its lowest figures ever, episode two had even lower.
Dan_Dare Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 ack. Epic Fail. To be honest, the concept has always been better than the execution. I'm not greatly shocked.
Daft Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 To be fair, it was Fox that canceled TSCC not Whedon :p But like FOX, Whedon is a tool. Yeah, Buffy was amazing. The rest of us have moved on, his writing style sure hasn't.
Ashley Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Dr Horrible was pretty special, as was Firefly (even if you can't stand the opening tune) :p But Fox are definitely a tool.
Molly Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Fox are equivalent of Jean-Claude Van Damme's hair in Hard Target. (see ITV1).
Daft Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Ah, the mass delusion that is Firefly... Fox did good cancelling that.
Dan_Dare Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Whendon's X-Men run was, for the record, flawless. Absolutely amazing run.
Daft Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I'm just talking about his screen writing. I've heard only good things about what he did on X-men.
Dan_Dare Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 well, it's all script innit. Personally, I think he needs someone more experienced at fleshing out a concept. He has good ideas- Firefly and Dollhouse are both, conceptually, great. The problem is that he rarely has the ability to carry the concept through on strong plotting. Firefly has some good characters, a good scenario etc but the show basically went nowhere. Dollhouse is exactly the same.
Daft Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 My problem is his dialogue. It's laughably predictable. It's probably made worse by the fact that I went to the same school as him and "Buffy-speak" is not as original as everyone thinks.
ReZourceman Posted October 6, 2009 Author Posted October 6, 2009 Whendon's X-Men run was, for the record, flawless. Absolutely amazing run. Amazing amazing amazing. Iconic run tbf. The fact that Astonishing is still going annoys the bejeesus girl out of me. And the finale was the best thing ever.
Happenstance Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Dont have a link but apparently the first 3 seasons of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are going to be redone with CGI for the Megazords/monsters etc and re-aired. Now I dont know about anyone else but the little kid inside me is really excited about this! :p
Daft Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I can't wait until they reboot MMPR into a gritty big budget blockbuster.
Paj! Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I can't wait until they reboot MMPR into a gritty big budget blockbuster. As long there are still sparks when they get knocked over by whatever the villain fires at them. I love the sparks.
Daft Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 So hold on....I thought Scrubs had ended... What's this new series starting on Thursday?
jayseven Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Sorta-spin-off, with turk and cox, focusing on the teaching part of the teaching-hospital, with sporadic special-guest cameo things from the old skool. iirc.
