Dan_Dare Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I wish it was possible. There must be a way! trivia fun: the fightpad I just bought is based on the saturn pad- widely regarded as the best console pad for fighters.
Portlett Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 in a weird way this feels to me like the sequal to street fighter 2 turbo since that was the last home console street fighter I bought as I never owned a ps1 or ps2 since I was always a nintendo person ( I own one now but only bought it about 2 years ago). Its like im 10 again!
Dan_Dare Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 it's going to be absolutely awesome. I've tried and failed to get in to the series before but now, with a new generation, a proper bit of kit and a new game to get my teeth in to I'm finally set to do it. I'm wondering if the fightpads are as good for other fighters. I wouldn't mind another crack at 3rd strike and VF5
Dyson Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 3rd strike is an epic game, me and my flat mate have found ourselves glued to it many, many times. The Amazon deal works out at £27.50 for the game and controller each.. Hmm, not bad.
Dan_Dare Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I liked 3rd strike but never loved many characters. I'm actually just really excited to go back to the original line-up (plus extras I know, but I can see myself really going for old favourites instead of them)
Dyson Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 For sure, the SF2 lineup is the classic one really. Chunli, Ryu, Ken, Akuma were in Third Strike but I can't wait to get Zangief, Blanka, M. Bison, Dhalsim, Guile, Sakura (used to be my favourite character) and more back. Though my all time favourite Street Fighter game has to have been Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha on the PS1. Skellotor and Dr. Dark (probably not their names at all but close, I hope) were classic characters and there was loads to do
The Bard Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 You have to be taking the shit. That game was worse than meat hook sodomy, dude. And you'll find that his name was Skullomania =p. Also: I still don't see this as being as good as SF3, and I find the animation kind of blocky and ridiculous. But it's always difficult to get used to the idea of a new iteration of SF until you play it yourself. Gonna be playing a lot of HD remix to get my game up for some online pwnage when this finally makes it out. Gonna be epic.

Actually it was the only SF I grew up with which'll be why I liked it, probably, but I still look back on it fondly after having played Third Strike and even SF2
Choze Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Sf4 is still the same street fighter i doubt it will appeal to anyone outside of hardcore fans after this game.
Dan_Dare Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I'm not a hardcore fan and it appeals to me greatly. I'm just really looking forward to getting my fightpad. I'm now maining with Dhalsim on HDR because he's got the least complex controls so the 360 pad cna fucking deal with him. I wanna expand my lineup but it's just taking the piss when you can't even pull of a dragon punch on command or, even worse, even Guile's commands don't register and they're just basic charge moves. Shocking. I'm not saying I'm a master in waiting but I can already out think the speed at which the 360 pad lets me play. I need something reliable to really put my ideas in motion.
Mundi Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I´m gonna disagree with Choze, I haven´t played a Street Fighter game in over 10 years and I´ve rarely been as hyped for a game then this one. As for the pad,I really wanna order one but due to currency, tolls and shit it looks like it will end up costing as much as the game for me...
Dan_Dare Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 is your local arm of Amazon not up to task? the UK one has all but one design in stock for £25
Mundi Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I would go for that except that as of a couple of months ago the pound has nearly doubled when matched against the ISK so 25 pounds plus shipping (16 pounds to ship here) is 41 pounds. After tolls it goes up to a whopping 56 pounds which is a lot to me now. It won´t stop me from getting one later just right it I can´t and it sucks majorly.
Dan_Dare Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 that'd be Iceland? I would think amazon had a local presence you could use
Dan_Dare Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 that's a shame. What about France and Germany? you might do better with the Euro? back to HD Remix: I wrote a sweary, word riddled review on the best website ever this week. Enjoy.

He's by far one of my favourite characters in Street Fighter, ever.
ReZourceman Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 ShopTo keep changing the price of the pre-order for the CE. Price is going up and down quicker than a fiddlers elbow.
Pit-Jr Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Nice review there Dan. My friend wanted to try out my PS3 this past weekend and out of the all the games he tried, HD Remix convinced him to get one
Deathjam Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Dudley is the shit... He's by far one of my favourite characters in Street Fighter, ever. Dudley was my fave, though all the characters were godlike in the right hands. Chunli though was fricking awesome, and Ryu's shinkuu shoryuken, drool....the way it used to zoom in, and then when you used it as a finisher drool....
