Haden Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Hey guys feeling that NE could do with an injection of communtiy spirit and landing myself a sweet headset recently. I was wondering if any people would be up for a NE podcast or even better kinda radio thing. Although im not sure how that would work. By radio I mean just playing songs with a bit of talking not sure how easy that is to stream? Anyway input in here if anyone wants to join in. Anyway any ideas or input and technical knowledge would be ace. Over to you
Daft Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Nice idea, I need another Podcast to jog along to...Since I have no technical knowledge at all I'd be pretty useless. A weekly podcast sounds like the best thing to do although I admit I don't really get how the streaming radio would work.
AshMat Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Live radio: Winamp with the SHOUTcast plugin. Not sure how to do it with more than one person, but there's a way i think, i've only ever done it on my own.
Twozzok Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 While not impossible, it'd probably be too much effort to make a radio station. Get the shoutcast server. Podcast sounds cool though. Live radio:Winamp with the SHOUTcast plugin. Needs the shoutcast server, thats what the plugin connects to. Not sure how to do it with more than one person, but there's a way i think, i've only ever done it on my own. Get one person to host, and use Skype
Haden Posted September 15, 2007 Author Posted September 15, 2007 If we went down the music route one person on would be ok I would have thought? But yeh skype sounds cool.
thirtynine. Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Another site I am on staff on had radio for a while, its not too hard to set up but to be honest, im pretty sure its illigal if you dont pay fees for having it, and its pretty crappy. Podcasts are fun. And easy!
Ant-Shimmin Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I did Podcasts on a failed Xbox Site.. I was awesome

Shorty Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 We did have an NE podcast, it was popular, fun and ran quite regularly, but that was when Franklin was around more often. If you look for it on iTunes you can find the old releases....
Guest Stefkov Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I think i have the old podcasts from here. Somewhere...
Fresh Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Listening to it now and it sounds, well, poor.
AshMat Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Yeah i never really liked the old NE one..
Fresh Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 A weekly half hour program would work, the old one was too long. Need people with decent microphones as well and someone who can edit it well.
Josh64 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Sounds like a good idea. Although the old N-E podcast was really boring and long. A shorter one with music and stuff would be awesome.
Eenuh Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I've never really listened to podcast cause they all just sound boring or something... But if this can be turned into something interesting, I would give it a listen for sure.
flameboy Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I don't know if people will remember but earlier in the year I did try and get an N-Europe Members Podcast up and running. But it never really happened, I agree that the community and site can only benefit from an ever increasing number of different forms of media and ways for members to get involved. I also made my N-Europe Show debut in the E3 news special which I did myself; http://www.n-europe.com/media/podcast/e3newsedition.mp3 I edited this together other than the intro... The N-Europe Show is still up and running just not as often, all the staff (myself included) obviously have commitments and getting together and getting everything working can be problematic. We spent 2 hours trying to get the last podcast up and running before an echoeing problem curtailed my involvement.
Caris Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Me, Ashmat and Demonmike are doing a podcast. Been sorting it out for about 2 weeks now. Stay Tuned

Fresh Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I feel unloved m8. Don't worry. It would probably just end up full of dead baby jokes and 4Chan references.
Haden Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Sabotage! So anyone up for the ace cool NE one still need someone with some technical nohow I guess :S
Strider Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I've never really listened to podcast cause they all just sound boring or something... But if this can be turned into something interesting, I would give it a listen for sure. I'm the same. They just havn't appealed to me.
Bluejay Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 This thread made me remember Woozel Radio/Audio Fusion. I liked that podcast. What happened to it. Laziness I presume.
AshMat Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Audio Fusion is pretty much still going, they came out with a new ep last week. But Guy was replaced by CVD because he didn't want to do it. Also Fresh, fyi we've got material planned, that does NOT involve dead babies, or 4cahn references.
