That Guy Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I think they look better than PGR3s. Has the date been set for this in europe? ....Read the first page again and yes it has :p
Guest Jordan Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Geomatry Wars: Waves (the new and free one included in PGR4) video is now out. It looks... awesome. It seems to play quite differently from Retro Evolved. Video here.
That Guy Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Yeah it looks the same but different. Looking forward this game even more now.
Daft Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 PGR4 demo....hopefully soon. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=83294 The Project Gotham Racing 4 demo is done and currently worming its way through Microsoft's certification process. Speaking at a press event at Bizarre Creations' offices in Liverpool, the developer said the demo would be released around the same time as the game - in their words, "it's just waiting for a slot". In terms of its content, we'll be taking a look a bit later, but it's quite substantial, with Nurburgring and a few Arcade mode chapters amongst the treats in store. File-size and exact download date are still to be confirmed, so keep your eyes on Bizarre's website for more details. And yes, Nurburgring does look absolutely sick when it's covered in snow. Yay! PGR4 is due out exclusively on Xbox 360 on 12th October. Also the soundtrack has been announced: Bizarre Creations has detailed the 57-song soundtrack for Project Gotham Racing 4, due out exclusively on 360 from 12th October. PGR4 is also fronted by an exclusive song written and performed by The Prodigy called Shadow, which plays on the various menus and over the credits. Cleverly, the sound team isolated little loops of the electronic track and made it so that entering a new menu initiates a slightly different phase of the song, giving you the sense of progressing through a tune rather than just listing to a jingle on repeat. It's like Rez for menus, innit. What's more, if you stick around on the main menu for long enough without doing anything, the game just starts jamming, spitting out variations on Shadow with gay abandon. Elsewhere on the soundtrack, there's a familiar mixture of various genres and styles, and the game will allow you to switch playlists off and on by genre, or individual song within a genre playlist, so if you don't like hip hop but do enjoy a particular song, you can make sure that stays in the mix. It's all part of a push to avoid having people race in and opt for custom soundtracks - although this being 360, that is of course an option. For more on the audio side of Gotham, as well as all the other sides, watch the site in the coming days. The full track-list follows. Apologies for typos if there are any - the bloody train is swinging from side to side whose bright idea was that. Noodleman Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Classical music is back \o/ It was just so satisfying racing around with Beethoven blasting out in PGR3, Squarepusher also sexy. Holy shit its got Ride of the valkyries :awesome:

Daft Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Dunno if anyone watches On the Spot but Gamespot demoed to game this week Who the hell is the bloke demoing it!? He can't drive for shit and I'm not really sure he actually knows much about the game since he said St. Petersburg is returning from PGR2...I could have demoed it better!
gaggle64 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Looks good enough to eat, don't it? My only problem with the above shots is that the only setup that looks THAT good is to hardwire your 360 directly into your cerebel cortex.
Daft Posted September 18, 2007 Author Posted September 18, 2007 First impressions at Eurogamer!! http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=83516 Sounds pretty good!
The fish Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Edit, here is also the current list of cars (again) in their respective classes: The lack of Noble's is disturbing... How am I going to dominate any class C or D races now?
Daft Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 The rather trendy advert was created by Microsoft, using live action vehicles in a real-life city. If PGR really happened, this is pretty much what it would look like! Being the Bizarre guys we are, we couldn't help but make a little remix of this using in-game assets straight from PGR4. I hope you'll agree that it stands up pretty well to the real-life stuff! Here's our remake shown side-by-side with the original TV spot, using music created especially for this by Chris Chudley of Geometry Wars fame. HD Link SD Link Compared to real life it looks a bit sucky...obviously. The crowds look a bit crap but you are hardly going to notice them at over 100 mph. I can't stop playing PGR3 Cat'n'Mouse and I can't wait to play that with bikes aswell!! Personally I thought they should have released the trailer that is currently on the market place with the Prodigy playing!
Daft Posted October 1, 2007 Author Posted October 1, 2007 PGR4 Review! http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=84445 9/10!! I'm very happy!!
Retro_Link Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Gametrailers Review - 8.7 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/25838.html Looks SO good!
Guest Jordan Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Bikes are tough as fuck to use. Theres no real drifting cars, or cars i'm even used to in the demo but its a great little show of the game. Can't wait.
Daft Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 Yeah, bikes are a bit of a nightmare to drive at first but I look forward to mastering them. I was starting to get the hang of it but I can imagine turning the air blue because I've been taken out by a car! The snow looks lovely as well. I'm definitely going to play the demo a bit more tomorrow....and then get the full game on Friday! Edit: I've played it a bit more now and got a gold on Macau with the bike pretty easily but damn pulling of a perfect drift on a bike is satisfying. I kind of wish the trick system was a bit more detailed but I'm not that fussed. I can't wait to see what the higher end bikes are like!!
rokhed00 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Don't see the problem with the bikes, didn't take me long to get the hang of them. Haven't even touched the cars yet.
triforce_keeper Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I thought the bikes were easier because of the gripping and everything. I don't normally buy racing game other than Mario Kart, might have to make this an exception!
Guest Jordan Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 If you've played PGR and MSR for years and years, bike are mad. I mean, you have to lean into corners to turn, meaning sharper and earlier breaking and far longer time for turning. God i hope the F340, the Enzo and CCX still handle the same way. Super drifty and fun.
