Thinking of getting this, but I'm really only interested in the online mode.... anyone got a good play of it yet? Is it any good, is there any lag....have you been in any 32 player games?

Also control-wise....i've been hearing (reading) it controls better than Metroid Prime 3.... any one who has played both wanna confirm, deny this for me, please.

Thanks

Online is brill I've not played single player yet lol. I've been in 32 player games and no lag - it rocks.

Controls are also top notch and have a comprehensive level of adjustability controls are at least as good - if not better than metroids. : peace:

Just like what happend with Strikers, I have hardly touched the single player mode! Online mode rocks, but then again, I haven't played an online shooter before so naturally it's all pretty exciting for me. If you are used to playing online games on other consoles you will hate it, but if your a virgin to this experience like myself, I think you'll love it! Played two or three 32 player matches and I experienced no lag whatsoever. Most games seem to consist of 12-16 players btw.

Controls seem just like those from Metroid to me. My only complaint about the controls is that there is no jump function., which is a real shame.

anyone up for a game now?

Played one level of the game and it seemed really good, yeah it's basic but the controls make it SO much more, the controls are really incredible. I was expecting it to be really good, but I was surprised how fluid they really are.

Online is flawless so far. Really good fun, would be much better when we all geta game going in a locked room. I suppose my only niggle would be that I would prefer an option where you just have timed deathmatch games rather the constant in and out way of doing it, like the feeling of partaking in a match and see who wins!!

This is pretty good online, mind you, i don't like the fact you have to go through 2 rounds on a thompson before killing someone! Seriously, how many bullets before they die? Slightly annoying :indeed:

Yeah this has been a big complaint since it was released in America

It takes one round of the Thompson for me to kill people.

People seriously need to get their act together and buy this game! Online is amazing

Couple more questions: in the online lobby theres symbols next to 'Game Name'. Like EA, ff and a shield. Anyone know what these mean?

Is there any way to communicate with the other players on your team? Voice chat or preprogrammed messages or anything?

Australia, February 10, 2008 - Last week we reported that all online functionality had been stripped from Medal of Honor Heroes 2 on Wii in Australia. Not only did this come as a huge shock to Australian Wii owners looking to get stuck into some 32 player fracas' online, but it also came as something of a surprise, given that the game's manual, and indeed, information about the game on EA's website, still touted online as one of the game's major features.

We told you to stay tuned, and now EA Australia has made an official comment on the situation and is offering refunds for anyone who purchased the game. Here's the official statement released by EA Australia's PR Specialist Cameron Jenkins:

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for Wii does not support online functionality in Australia. We made an error in the documentation and marketing materials. We are very sorry to have caused confusion for our customers. We will provide a refund to anyone in Australia who wishes to return the game to EA because of the lack of online functionality.

Of course, this issue is about more than money or misleading information – it's about why the online element was stripped out in the first place. Unfortunately, EA Australia "do not wish to comment" on the reasons the game is missing this functionality, but from what we understand the company would need to run local servers to ensure low latency online play, and it has evidently decided not to do so.

Poor Australia :'(

Poor Australia :'(

Shocking. Utterly shocking to hear :|

I suppose the online mode is bound to the continent you're playing from? Maybe EA didn't bother to setup an Australia+NZ-only online server... Poor ppl down under. I suppose they'll always be able to import the EU version, though they'll have to connect to EU servers, prolly raising the chance of lags.

Single player is good. Not amazing but solid and great fun with the awesome controls, the game is well worth getting; it depends how jaded you are with WW shooters, if you're not then you'll love it. If you hate the sight of greens, greys and browns then it might be a little samey but seriously, the controls really do add a lot to the game.

PS And online is awesome!

I'm thinking of getting this instead of No More Heroes. Is the online really that good? How many people from here have that game?

Importantly, in a months time, will we still be playing this?

PS: If somebody gives me a reply in the next half hour, I'll take their decision and go to town right now and get the game.

Is the online play global or restricted to regions?

I wanna buy the Japanese version as it is released this week but worried about it being restricted as I doubt it is gonna be a popular title in Japan.

Also I hope the Japanese version is actually online unlike what happened in australia.

Take it this way, if you haven't played an online shooter before, you'll love it. Everyone on here, and on other forums I visit, who are new to this experience seem to love it. I've played many hours on the online since last Thursday, and it's very addictive. I'm trying to limit my playtime on this now as it's not good on my social-life and other intrests

Not that many people have it on here (about 5 methinks) but hopefully that number will grow.

Will you be playing it in a month? No idea! Where you still playing Strikers after a month? Single player is pretty decent too, along with the 'Arcade' mode, which I prefer to the usual 'Campaign' mode. Arcade mode keeps a tally of your scores which will tempt you to come back to beat your scores too!

If you don't like it or get bored with the online, you can sell it on Amazon marketplace for £25ish, then you'd have some money for NMH!

The game is really good but INSTEAD of No More Heroes?!?! Don't know, depends how much you like online...! I think everyone will definitely be playing in a months time, it's really good!!!!

PS Did I get in in time for you to go get it?

I'm a bit pissed off at how NMH has been trimmed down. I would still get the game if they had kept certain things in the game. Blowing off somebody's head and having the head still remaining is pretty poor. :(

I think I'm going to get this. I need a shooter, plus I need an online game. EA did well with Fifa, so I'm hoping this is a good follow up.

I'm on the way to get this then. :D
