I think I have an idea why he likes rugby so much. Granted if I was covered in women, I would be happy too.

Nice arse on 'im

I don't know why people have resorted to slagging the other sport off??

One Two things are certain - International Rugby players are by no means women - and only a small minority of football fans actually are hooligans.

Edit: Lets all agree to disagree on which is the best sport, but can we not slag the other off?

Conzer once again talks sense :)

Because rugby is the national sport in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and is followed hugely in France and Italy?

There is one Aussie, and none of the other nationalities on these forums... Haven't seen many Irish either that I know of (sorry guys!).

I miss her, she must be miles from the pitch now :(

it was actually any time any opposition player got the ball in Arsenal's half :D

Still FUnny none the less

I sit next to Old Jimmy on The Kop a few times a season, well into his late 70's and always has something to say, he is a really funny chap who still thinks Kenny Dalglish is playing for Liverpool.

The best line he came out with was during the 6-3 defeat, considering he never swears, and Reina wasn't playing that night.

He brought himself up off his feet, and said "REINA YOUR FUCKING SHIT", brought a few howls of laughter!

You know what else grinds my gears.

Why do english people hate their 'football' being called 'soccer'?

Because it plays with a ball in the foot most of the time. Why call it enything else.

Because America have branded it this new name because they already have a sport called Football.

They think we should all adapt this new name. WHen it's stupid

Because they know it to be football but in Ireland and America, where soccer is most commonly heard, there is a different type of Football. It's only used to distinguish between two different types of football

Well other countries have other forms of football. In ireland we have Gaelic football, americans have american football and then there is the australian one. Funny how they don't call it english football:)

I usually find that England only like the sports they are good at? Maybe that sounds silly i say this because cricket is the worst sport i have ever seen in my life and yet some of you seem to like it:) It boggles the mind.

Let's end this by saying that pro wrestling beats all!!

*Grabs flame shield*

Get out. Get out. Cricket is the greatest sport in the history of the world.

Cricket is awesome. Seriously, it's too good. Atleast put forward an opinion instead of increasing your post count.

Care to come up with a less retarded comment? I find rugby league very "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" but I don't say it because I'm not a troll. You obviously don't appreciate cricket and it's depth as a sport and I don't mind that but when you say it's boring without a reason then that annoys me slightly.

+1. Well, not the greatest sport ever but it's pretty high up my rankings.

Comparing the two sports isn't particularly constructive considering they're so different even if they do share a common ancestor. And all it does is produce a lot of bullshit from both sides of the argument (not all of it, but some of it). In the end having played most of the types of football in the world I know which ones I like best both as a spectator and as a player. And I genuinely find rugby the most satisfying and football the least. But in the end it's all subjective.

A lot of the people I know who dislike rugby don't like it because they don't understand it and as a result just see it as a lot of dumb, breeze-blockish men running into each other (although rugby players on the whole seem to be pretty intelligent despite what rugby drinks may tell). I see the same thing with American Football.

EDIT: to the person who said that the NFL is much more physical than rugby...don't go there. I can guarantee you that someone like Jason White or Ben Cohen could hit you as hard as Brian Dawkins or Joey Porter. Rugby's mentality for tackling is to make sure you get your opposite number to ground, dislodging the ball comes second. In American football which is much more possession based many players are tackling to dislodge the ball...plus they can lead with the shoulder which is banned in rugby. Also in American football you know that the whistle will blow once you've made the tackle. Passages of play in rugby can go on for ten minutes and there's very little time in which to catch your breath. So if you put monster hits in all the time you're going to be pretty fucking knackered and not getting to the rucks.

This is exemplified by one of the toughest drills I've ever done. Four tacklebags on each corner of a rectangle (1,2,3,4). For three minutes, your coach calls out numbers in quick succession and you have to hit the corresponding tacklebag. This is done at full speed. It's agonisingly painful...but it shows that in rugby you shouldn't waste your energy putting in a huge hit when getting the guy down will do. Of course, putting in a big hit every so often is good, but it's certainly not required for every tackle.

And you don't think hearing 'rugby is cack' is annoying?

Anyway I find cricket boring. But then I don't understand the game completely so who knows, it just seems very dull and repetitive.

I've never said rugby was cack. I'll reiterate my opinions. I find rugby to be a good and exciting sport, but generally not as exciting as football (although is international rugby beats international football, defo). Sorry if I came across as "rugby is cack" in the heat of the argument. Although I do think rugby league is very dull and repetitive.

I didn't mean YOU stated that 'rugby is cack', I should have made that clearer. But hearing all day about how inferior rugby is to football was annoying to me.

Agree there, though I haven't watched much league.

So you're allowed to tell us football is shit but we're not allowed to say the same about Rugby?!
