S.C.G Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Yesterday I gave Appetite for Destruction a listen in full and again today, it was really enjoyable and I think I'll be giving the rest of Guns 'n Roses older albums a good listen in due course.
Goafer Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 A very well-written and accurate assessment of Lady GaGa. Probably the best I've read and seen, and sums up my thoughts on her too. EDIT: Also, Joanna Newsom's new album, "Have One On Me" , is out on Feb 23. Hold me down. My feet, they can't stop DANCING. I have an X-Men trading card with that picture on. True story. I think I'm in love with Shirley Manson
ipaul Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 God I love this video/song. Normally Animal Collective's vocals are on the verge of being irritating but these..... still are really. They just work so well I don't really care. It stuns, as a certain prolific n europe member might say
Paj! Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I think I'm in love with Shirley Manson Garbage are (were) my fave. Do you have their first 2 albums?
chairdriver Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I have an X-Men trading card with that picture on. True story. I think I'm in love with Shirley Manson My favourite song for a long while. I have 100+ plays of that on last.fm.

Daft Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm not really sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes... Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for Antony & The Johnsons' cover of 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door'? I would REEEEAAAAALLLY appreciate it.
Coolness Bears Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 ME AND MY COUSINS AND YOU AND YOUR AND COUSINS... IT'S A LINE THAT'S ALWAYS RUNNING! ME AND MY COUSINS AND YOU AND YOUR AND COUSINS... I CAN FEEL IT COMING!
Goafer Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Garbage are (were) my fave. Do you have their first 2 albums? Not yet. Probably should really. I only have the Absolute Garbage at the moment.
Paj! Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Oh, that's decent, tbh. Their first and second are just the best, album-track wise. BeautifulGarbage (the "poppy" one) has some alright songs, but the production is really dated. Bleed Like Me (their last album) is fun/rocky though.
Paj! Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I kinda hate how she almost can't sing it. It's on the verge of too low for her while the backing track is too jolly to make up for it. But that's only the verse.
Roostophe Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 FFFFFUUUUCK! The first time I've listened to Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park in f'in years and it feels like I'm in 2001. Even reminds me of Shenmue and Phantasy Star Online. Being reminded of two classic Dreamcast games is always win. Pity this band are tripe, really. But this is a great Nu-Metal album. Nostalgia rules over all taste and opinions, but you don't care that it does.
Coolness Bears Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 ...and I'm offficially addicted to the new Vampire Weekend Album.
Razz Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Classic song, and beautiful imagery. Peter Gabriel gets points. Why was I not born in the '80s?!
Paj! Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 (edited) Classic song, and beautiful imagery. Peter Gabriel gets points. Why was I not born in the '80s?! Peter Gabriel is great. I feel I should get an album of his, I only have Greatest Hits or some other compilation. I love Biko. --- In other news, I question when my love for Delta Goodrem will cease. I love her and her music. Edited January 15, 2010 by Paj!
Slaggis Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 30 second preview of Diana Vickers first single, written by Vickers and Cathy Dennis. Not what I expected at all (Though I love), but I cannot wait for the album. She's worked with people like Patrick Wolf and Ellie Goulding, so I can't see it being an utter disaster.

Not...horrible, which is what I was expecting (I liked her on X Factor, but I had a feeling they'd make her do like..jazz standards or something), and her collaborators sound interesting. Are they confirmed? Seem a bit random.
Paj! Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Heard that a while ago. It's alright, the singer's voice is on the cusp of really off-putting in most cases, for me. I never listen to their last album anymore, and only really like a few from The Warning (My favourite being And I Was A Boy From School by far).
Dan_Dare Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 He's got a voice that could only work in his own band. It's not really a good voice at all, but they use it well. They're great performers, too. As an aside...
ipaul Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Brilliance. YES! So excited for their new album. Though I did listen to a track from it today I wasn't so keen on, One Life Stand and Take It In are brilliant. Discovering Kraftwerk at the moment (coincedntally, through someone who knew I liked Hot Chip and recommended them). I think I'm going to have to buy a few records.
Paj! Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 I like Kraftwerk. It's kinda background-y, but they're definitely innovators/whatever the word is/inspirational to electronic music in the last however many year.
