S.C.G Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 This article has me worried about the new Muse album now.... Contemporary R&B and Timbaland influences? Football style chanting? Uh-oh.... . .. ... It's gonna be either really good... or really bad :/ I don't think there will be a middle-ground for this one. However this is Muse... I trust that they won't completely fuck it up.
chairdriver Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I've spent the day with Calum, and he was playing me all his fave music, and I actually love: Literally stunning to hear.
chairdriver Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 No. No no no no. This time I'm using it correctly though. I was stunned that they were so good.
Ashley Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Yeah I was literally unstunned. Listened to the first half and it was just...noise. Maybe it was the poor YT quality but overall it was, to me, an unengaging tune played in a rather monotonous manner.
Razz Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 On the pop side of things, Enrique and Ciara's Taking Back My Love is fun to hear. It came on at work today on the radio and I was humming it for ages. I like inoffensive stompy pop stuff like that.
Ashley Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I'm just going to rewatch a film I love that has this great song at the end: Audio Very much holiday music. Come on Raz. Tell us what it means :p
Jon Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 So a few guys in the chat were up for hearing some tracks from probably my favourite band, The Goo Goo Dolls. These are all off their latest album - Let Love In. Better Days Audio Let Love In Audio Stay With Me Audio Feel The Silence Audio And from the first Transformers Soundtrack... Before It's Too late (Sam and Mikaela's Theme) Audio
Razz Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I'm just going to rewatch a film I love that has this great song at the end: Audio Very much holiday music. Come on Raz. Tell us what it means :p "Seems like an angel fell from the sky..." so far so cheesy. I'll let you know the rest if it's killing you that much lol. EDIT: I take it back, I love this. It's 80s gold!

EDIT: I take it back, I love this. It's 80s gold! Haha yes, it has a very 80s quality to it. Such a harmless song. At the end of Mio fratello è figlio unico when he is just weirdly dancing/swaying to this song...its exactly how the song makes me feel. Plus if you watch the vid, great 80s hair.

CoolFunkMan Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) Well, no new Muse single today, I'm a tad dissapointed, but perhaps it's too soon. I have a feeling it's not long till we all hear it though. But Zane Lowe still talked about it, here's a lowdown of what he said: Special thing about the release coming up. Listened to it twice in lake como studio. You are going to absolutely love it. IMO muse made most focussed and complete record yet, no record yet not lvied up to expectations. One of best brit bandsAll components fit Journey from start to end, wont stop til the end Exogenesis most ambitious and incredible thing ever attempted, and it works. No small feat to conduct something of this magnitude Spent and emotional Huge riffs, massive riffs Quirky pop songs 10 weeks today Well worth the wait. EDIT: From the show... His optimisim has restored a bit of my faith in the album. All that does sound epic! Edited July 6, 2009 by CoolFunkMan
Dyson Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 One of their best rock songs on it, one of their best pop songs, and if you're a Muse fan you're gonna love it? Can't wait.
Would be something like this in English, bearing in mind it's hard to not make it sound stupid: She's like an angel fallen out of heaven When she walks into Sassofono Blu dressed like that But she's bored leaning against a mirror Between the overzealous people in leather Who peer at her without poetry She's losing, losing, losing, losing She's losing, losing, losing, losing time. One evening she met a gentle guy He was a lightining bolt and just looking at him was almost a shock She's coming, coming, coming, coming She's coming, coming, coming, coming home. She'll dance among the flaming stars And she'll discover, she'll discover Hopeless love. After that night she lost sight of him Desperately she waits for him every evening at Sassofono Blu One night, like a wolf she was crying That night the phone rang like mad He's calling, calling, calling, calling He's calling, calling, calling, calling. Like an angel fallen out of heaven When they meet again and touch it's a real shock And shaking, shaking, shaking, shaking Shaking, shaking, shaking, shaking hard. She'll dance among the flaming stars And she'll discover, she'll discover love Hopeless Love. Again it's hard to make any song directly translated sound good, but as many go that's not so bad lol. Yay for 80s love songs.
Ashley Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I thought I'd heard it somewhere. This is going on my summer playlist. I'll post the lyrics in a spoiler tag for you in a bit :p EDIT: It reminds me of this: Audio And whilst we're on the subject of Italian classics, this is my childhood summed up in an Italian Playdays-esque form: Audio The first song is indeed great. Probably a lot different if you understand but as it is to me it has that nice laid back holiday feel to it. The second...I'm presuming its like a childs song aimed at teaching...stuff? Paj! Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Songs that are a-whirling around the pool in my head; Both lovely have shoved into your ears.

These are all off their latest album - Let Love In. Better Days Audio Let Love In Audio Stay With Me Audio Feel The Silence Audio And from the first Transformers Soundtrack... Before It's Too late (Sam and Mikaela's Theme) Audio Thanks for posting those JonSt, I really loved listening to them last night. Songs that are a-whirling around the pool in my head; Both lovely have shoved into your ears. I love both of those tracks, listened to both Little Boots' and La Roux' albums on my iPod for the first time today, I've heard them before through speakers but in portable form they are something else entirely. The main La Roux track that's been doing the rounds in my head today though is... It's actually annoyed me slightly that when ripping the album there is still no album info for La Roux so it won't scrobble but nvm... :/ And from Little Boots... Also recently I decided to go back to the one Kate Bush album that I have - The Whole Story - and I appreciated it a lot more this time, so much so that I decided to track down her full albums and got a good deal on this... It contains her first six albums plus a further two 'albums' packed full of what appear to be b-sides and different versions of exisiting songs, I shall be giving each album a proper listen in the next week or two.

AMG! You bastard. I NEED the bonus stuff in that boxset (I have all the albums though), and have never found it at a decent enough price to buy, for JUST the bonus stuff.
Ganepark32 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 New song from Paramore from their forthcoming album: Ignorance - Paramore Sound quality isn't great but if you go to their Myspace, you can hear the it in much better quality. I know not many will give two s**ts about it but I do so :p

Tbh I didn't really expect to get it for the price that I did, I found out after though that others had gone for similar prices, allbeit not all in the same condition though... if you like I can keep a lookout on eBay for you in case any more get added? when the no reserve ones are listed it seems there is always a good chance that you can get it for a good price, but all the Buy It Now ones are around £100 + it seems which is way too much Imo really. In other news, I managed to get the info on La Roux' album to register properly oh and btw, I now agree... I love Bulletproof though Tigerlily is definitely my favourite track off the album atm.
Davey_T Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Brand New will release And One Head Can Never Die on September 22nd. So excited
Slaggis Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 (edited) Ciara as a slutty builder. Brilliant video. I fucking love this to death at the moment. I hated it when I first heard it, but now I can't stop listening. It's the hilariously abysmal lyrics (like with "Kiss Me Thru The Phone) that make it amazing. With lines such as "Better shake that thang like a donkey" and "better eat that boy like you're hungry" and then the freakishly catchy but incredibly lazy almost one word chorus. "Work, Work, Work, Work, Work...BITCH YOU BETTER WORK". -- I'm making an 80's playlist for a party on saturday that I'm throwing. Any recommendations for some well known (As in, classic 80's) 80's tracks? (I've got a fair few, but I'm guessing I've forgotten loads). Edited July 8, 2009 by Slaggis
