Slaggis Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I love all the songs from "The Choirgirl Hotel" you linked. I may have to buy the album. Thanks for the links! I'm going to buy Garbage's greatest hits cd next time I'm in town, if I can find it.
Paj! Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 From The Choirgirl Hotel and Scarlet's Walk are my favourite albums by her. I can't beleive I forgot to post links to some of those tracks! Beekeeper is pretty bad, it lacks any edge, it's just her going on about being a mother in forgettable songs. American Doll Posse from last year is fucking cool, but it's concept of her playing 5 differnet characters can't hide the amount of blah songs on the album. Scarlet's Walk Highlights; 2 of my fave Tori Songs, Mrs. Jesus and I Can't See New York (About 9/11) are also on SW. Check them out if you want. I know i'm throwing a lot at you at once! Tori is enjoyed best one album at a time.
Slaggis Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Haha. I feel so stupid. I have "A Sorta Fairytale" on my ipod, but I had no idea who it was by. Now I know. I need to buy one of her albums!
Paj! Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Joke. Her biggest hits are Conrflake Girl, Crucify, Winter, Silent All These Years and A Sorta Fairytale. Yeah, I mean it is good to start at the beginning, but I didn't bother, lol. I went; American Doll Posse (This didn't do much for me at first, had it for a few months) (2007) Then I bougth her greatest hits and loved it! (2003) Then I bought Boys For Pele (1996) and From The Choirgirl Hotel.(1998) Then Little Earthquakes (1991) and the Beekeeper (2005) Then Scarlet's Walk (2002) Then Under The Pink (1994) To Venus And Back (1999) is more expensive in stores as it comes with a live album too, so I just Dl'd it (off iTunes!) I finally managed to find Strange Little Girls (2001) in DisneyWorld, or all places, and it was the last one! So yeah, I spent a good 6 months getting them all.

Haver Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Ah yes, New Town is a classic. But, if I may correct the lyrics. It's "I've been feeling neato" not "neo". You should definately check out the album though Haver, it's one of the greatest ever made (second only to "Neu!" by Neu! IMO). And if you can track it down the 7-inch version of New Town is a fucking corker too, possibly better than the live version (though without the extended ending.) Ah, neato makes a lot more sense. I have Any Other City now. I think I prefer the live version, not sure why yet. I will get back to you on that.
Intensity Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 C.R.E.A.M - Wu-Tang Clan. Very good urban choice, that I didnt expect from you Paj.
Mr_Odwin Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 http://ghosts.nin.com/main/order_options Trent Reznor fighting the good fight. I've downloaded the free tracks and will probably pay the $10 for the double CD set. Any other NIN fans?
thirtynine. Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I forgot about clapyourhandssayyeah. They are excellent
Paj! Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Very good urban choice, that I didnt expect from you Paj. I could claim it's a favourite of mine, but to be honest, It came on some urban anthems compilation my sister threw at me. I don't think I've ever listened to it. I only wanted the album for Turn Me On by Kevin Little. ---- Bought The Cardigans Best Of today. I felt I needed to know their true musical lives outside of Lovefool.
Noodleman Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 While hes a massive ****, Colin Murray played the Portal end credits on Radio 1 last night.
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Gallhammer - Ill Innocence Black Metal Vs Crust Punk Vs Doom Metal. Ouchie! I'm fucking hooked on the chicks. And they're hot, too!!! This is what true metal girls are like. None of that goth faggotrie.
Intensity Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQtc4BAtjqc summer pop anthem?
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I can't stand Kanye... never really knew why, I just hate him. And I hate that he's called the saviour of hip hop...
Intensity Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Amazing producer though. His actual rapping is hit and miss. I like him cos I just admire his ego and the character he puts across. Think he puts his heart into stuff and that makes his technical faults as an mc more barable.

chairdriver Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 We were discussing what we should call our band today, and here are some ideas we came up with: - A variety of names starting with "Rory P and the (x)s" (I dunno about this - seems like a copy of Siouxsie and The Banshees / Antony and The Johnsons, or any other of those bands with a name formatted like that) The Satyrs (I didn't really like this idea - reminds me of a shit rock/indie band thrown into classical Greek times) The Jingle Jangles (I don't know if this was a joke or serious - anyway it's far too gay, and reminds me of the Ting Tings - too onomatopoeic) The Harwells (Harwell is my surname, and my friend likes it as a word. I would be really flattered if the band was named after me, but I just can't get the image of the Brady bunch out my head. Like singing family syndrome) The Bored Cynics (could be a laugh) The Lovechildren of Victoria's Secret Other crap ones which I can't remember All of those could be stand-alones, or as suffixes after "Rory P and -" - FUH-Q (You need to say it out loud to get it - I didn't get it at first) - Fuck You John (Lol, I'm John. I think this one came up after I made a really crap suggestion. I think it could work lol) - The Lustful Creatures Of The Mellow Forest (I could love - I just immediately thought of the scene in Snow White where shes like raped in a forest LOL - it's probably too long, but it's a laugh) - Lesbian Warfare (Totally random since we're all guys, but I think it's cool) - Quote Of The Century - Routine Checkage There's probably other suggestions that I forgot. Anyone any thoughts?
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Quote Of The Century That one is great. Anyway... suggestions? Rory P and the rest of the band. Rory P and the quest for a name. Rory P and the yellow-brick road. Rory P and the magnificient vulgars. Rory P and the bulgarian department of shellfish. Rory P and the intellectual retards. I have no ideia... this is just random shit.
Gizmo Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Call yourselves Various Artists, just to fuck with people's iPods.
Paj! Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Drop Rory P. Sounds shit, and it's not like he needs more ot boost is ego. Siouxsie isn't the same as Rory P no matter what he thinks... I love Lesbian Warfare and The Lustful Creatures Of The Mellow Forest Lesbian Warfare demands Crystal Castles/Northern State music, while the other one fits dull rock, which is what your band is, isn't it? Like typical "school" band. If you call yourselves; Lesbian Warfare And The Lustful Creatures Of The Mellow Forest I'll pay for yout first single to be pressed and sold. I don't think the others would be brave enough though, except Mavor.
Dante Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Does anyone like One Night Only? My fav song this week is: GoldFrapp - A&E.
Calza Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Good taste there Dante! Song of the moment to annoy my friends, good times...
