The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess

Hmmm, i'm not far through the game, just about to finish filling the second light vessel as a wolf and thus far am dissapointed. I thought the first entrance into Hyrule field would be breathtaking, but it was bland, and the textures were really blurred. Kakariko village was also rather uninspired and dull. I'm sure the game will start to pick up, just not what i was expecting.

I was like that too when i first got to the field, but once you get past Karkariko then you will find the map is bigger than you could have imagined

I'd like this game a whole lot more of you didn't have to bother with the on horse fight scenes. I'm trying* to reach the 3rd temple but thanks to the escort the caravan part of the game I can't progress any further. I've been stuck on this part for the last 3 days now. I HATE the Wii controls for Zelda and I'm so annoyed I'm thinking of just buying the GC version to be more suited to the standard D-pad style of control. I'm beginning to think Nintendo has dropped the ball on this one. Maybe the Wii controller is nothing more than a gimmick...........

When you said D-pad style, what do you mean?

Have you had any other problems with the game, or just that level? I thought that level was pretty good, and it reminded me majora's mask (where you take the cart to the ranch and have to fire off those 2 guys).

Plus, you can put out the flames on the cart. So, that makes it waaay easier. I didn't know this the first time. :)

Agreed! You know you can put the fire out on the caravan with the boomerang? That might make it easier if you don't know!?

Well, I'm just about to go and get the master sword, after 20 hours... :heh: Yes, I'm taking it slowly.

Anyway, presumably the boss of the third dungeon was purposefully reminiscent of shadow of the colossus...

Yeah I know you can put the flames out, but I still suck at it. Too many enemies and flying creatures dropping bombs. DEAD annoying.

Yeah, a few people have said that in here. I've never played the game, so I can't comment on that.

However, that boss was awesome. :D

How do you go about fighting off the enemies? Do you use your sword, or do you use teh bow/slingshot?

I think I did a combination. Z targetting helps as well. :)

Personally, I found it easier doing this than on Majora's mask where you had to aim using the analogue stick. That did piss me off a bit.

Stick at it, dude. You will prevail.

What is the touble with the escort task?

Your item setups should be: Arrows, the Gale Boomerang and bombs.

Fire arrows at the ogre's body on the bridge and turn around repeat it again.

Lock on to the orges with Gale Boomerang and used your sword as well.

Lock on to the birds with the bow to kill them.

If the caravan gets set on fire, use the boomerang to put

it out.

I hope the next game introduces magical elements to the franchise, perhaps Zelda could be a playable character, and her abilities are all magic based (rather than weapon based).

Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a Zelda game where you had an option of playing the whole story as Zelda, then the whole story again as Link, but both would have a different adventure (that overlapped), giving the game twice the replay value.

In the Wand of Gamelon and Zelda's Adventure you play as Zelda.

Thanks all for the advice. Finally managed to clear the caravan escort and reach the Lakebed temple. I HATE water temples. :(

Out of the frying pan, into the fire!

I mean a modern 3D game. Maybe the next Wii game will incorporate Zelda more, and that's what Nintendo meant by TP being the last of its kind.

I think this Zleda being 'the last of its kind' also means they are going to change the structure of the game i.e. how Link interacts with with the world, maybe icluding some kind of WiiConnect24 feature akin to Spore...but hey, thats just my guess!

Done the 6th dungeon.

Great dungeon, imo. Very nicely designed. I love the 'weapon' you get, too. Quite a cool boss fight. Took me a few minutes to figure out what to do, but then it was plain sailing.

People said earlier that there is hardly any time between the next dungeon. I've been playing for a while after completing that dungeon, and I think that there's a hell of a lot of time until the next dungeon! There's a lot of traveling need to be done. Going to that secret village and then back to kakariko, and then back again. Plus, I've got to move those statues around Hyrule.

That scene where Illia remembers who you are and you get taken back to pre-hero of time link and Illia for a second almost made me cry. Was so amazing.

Do you think there is too much problem solving in Zelda and that more "snowboarding" type "mindless" gameplay would be fun?

I think the fact there's so much problem solving is what makes the more lighthearted segments more enjoyable. Snowboarding was awesome in Twilight Princess.

Played a lot yesterday and am now at the Palace of Twilight. Although Snowpeak Ruins and the Temple of Time were probably my least enjoyed dungeons, I loved the Sky Temple and am enjoying the final one (although it could be better). Going to try and complete it today, last day of 2006 :heh:

Ye, and both were the greatest games ever made. I would, however, never want to play as Zelda. Zelda is a character that should remain mistical and not known. I would love to see a game were you can play as different races again, like Majora's Mask. It was great zo swim as a Zora, roll as a Goron and, euhm, shoot like a Deku? Ah well, Zora and Goron was tremendous fun...

I'm in the last dungeon now (dunno if it really is a dungeon, though), defeated Zant. Great boss, I loved fighting him, though the first fight is quite odd because you don't know quite what to do. Trememndous fun, untill he start his spinning attack - wich only could be evaded by rolling, and I always noticed his spin a little too late. Ah well.

Yeh thanks for the spoiler -.-

Spoiler? I don't think you're imagination can think of it like it is. Really, what I revealed isn't such a great deal. It's just one of the things. Sorry if I did spoil it for you - didn't want that. Yes, use spoiler tags, but I tried to be as vague as possible about Vaatti's appearance in the ending of the game.

Uhm, scratch that last, will you? It's not in there, anyway.

It's unlikely - it was probably all designed way before SotC was out. Still, I loved the way the boss was revealed. "Oh....It's just another morpha-like thing......OMG!!!"

And I love the character development. Poses like:

Really add a lot to the character development. Also, like I predicted, Wolf Link seems to have a lot of personality.
