In terms of the games themselves, the only one that disappointed me was Screwbot Factory (AKA Fillbots clone) It's almost identical in every single way to Fillbots from the DS game and it starts the game off on a rather sour note. Thankfully that feeling goes away quickly Oh and Packing Pests/Packing Pests 2 are my favourites of the bunch. Dat music!

Considering that the original GBA game never got a release outside Japan either...
-
Well technically it's only 2/3 of 2D Boy working on this (Just Kyle Gabler and Allan Blomquist - Ron Carmel is not involved with this), alongside the director of Henry Hatsworth devs (Kyle Gray) That being said, I get a definite World of Goo vibe from this (and that's a very good thing!) Can't wait to see more
-
That would be pretty hilarious, but I think it would be even funnier to see the two washups appearing in a bootleg Smash Bros clone Snake making an appearance would just be the icing on the cake (especially since they've already stolen his final smash for use by another character!)
-
One problem with Prince/Katamari though is that there has never been a Katamari game released on a Nintendo console and one of Sakurai's main rules regarding 3rd party characters is that the character in question must have starred in a game that was released on a Nintendo console... Anyway, as far as NB characters go, I think that the safe bets are Pacman, Tamagochi and at least one Tales of character (probably Lloyd Irving)

Meh. You don't play a Tales game for its story, you play it for its fuck awesome gameplay, its hilarious skits and fabulous (often literally!) characters!

This week's DLC... http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/07/nintendo_download_12th_july_2012_europe Matoya's Cave and FF3 Battle 1 get!

This week's Nintendo Download http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/07/nintendo_download_12th_july_2012_europe 3DS Download Software Sparkle Snapshots 3D (Nintendo/Atlus, £4.50/€5) 3DS Add-On Content Sparkle Snapshots 3D — £0.90/€1 each: Mario Core Set Mario Kart 7 Set Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy — £0.90/€1 each: The Archylte Steppe (FF13 — FMS) Matoya's Cave (FF01 — FMS) Battle 1 (FF03 — BMS) The Final Battle (FF05 — BMS) WiiWare Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition (Konami, 1000pts) DSiWare Topoloco (Abstraction Games, 500pts) 99seconds (EnjoyUp Games, 200pts) It's basically the 3DS equivilent of those old DS Download Stations. Free WiFi, game demos, videos etc. There is one big difference between it and the old DS one though... You can actually access it from home simply by changing your home wireless connection's SSID to "_The Cloud" and removing security completely. It'll trick the 3DS into thinking that it's in a Nintendo Zone hotspot! There's nothing really interesting on there ATM though, outside of those exclusive Mario&Sonic cards.

Status quo for the MMO? No?
-
Nah not really. There are much better FF battle tunes (Hexadrive, Force your Way, FF4 Battle 2, FF3 Boss Battle, Birth of a God etc) If you want to play FF11, I think they have a free 1 monh trial period...

This game has given me a new appreciation for FFXI's OST. It's really underrated! Wish I gave it a fair shake before! FF5 and FF12's OSTs still suck though (outside of a select few, most of which are actually included in Theathythm! - Home Sweet Home is FF5's best song!) FF6 has the best OST in the series, but ironically has the worst choice of songs in this game. Soooo many good songs they could've picked and ignored ( and Dancing Mad being cut to just the last movement only is a crime!)

They'd have to remake every game from scratch to have it work (and two different versions of every future game would have to be made). It's a ridiculous and ludicrous suggestion to make, end of. Capacitive Styli are not the same as Resistive Styli. Your typical Resistive Stylus has a very fine tip, with pixel perfect accuracy; Capacitive Styli on the other hand all need to have very thick and wide tips (almost like a crayon) in order to work and they're not accurate at all (owning one myself, there's no way you could use it to play a game like Trauma Center or Kid Icarus Uprising!) I'd feel the same way... if Eurogamer (and everyone else) hadn't been posting these kinds of anti handheld articles for years now...
-
Yep, it was an utter disgrace. They're treating it as if it were a successor to a smartphone... It's a shame that the media feel the need to resort to slander, in order to fit their typical "handheld gaming is doomed"/iOS future narrative. They should know better, especially when it's going to enroach on their precious AAA console games soon... Oh BTW, finally settled on Blue as my 3DSxl colour of choice (though I really wanted the white one but eh, what can you do?). Looks gorgeous in photos!
-
I thought the same at first too, but they're not 3D. It's probably the smoother framerate that fooled me at first, but they're still 2D. The way they handle video in this is weird. It's 2D placed onto a polygon and pushed forward and backward when you raise or lower the depth slider. It's also a good showcase for how the field of view actually increases when 3D is raised or lowered! (making the 3DS screen's visible aspect ratio actually 16 x 9 when 3D is turned up to full; that's why they chose such a weird aspect ratio for their screen!)

Considering this quote that came from Ghostlight's Blog recently... and their past history of localising Atlus US' titles, I think it's safe to say that it's them.
-
It's Code of Princess (check the game's thread) So that leaves Nano Assault and Sakura Samurai as the only games that's available in the US and not the EU. Of course that's all on Majesco and Nintendo's respective shoulders and not Ghostlight's there. Shame that there's still so much left as Japan only
-
Excellent! Here's hoping all goes well with Ghostlight closing the deal!
-
About damn time! Feel sorry for that poor girl who tried to get her game signed and got rejected So I guess that means that we'll be getting TOX2 in 2014 here in Europe? Ahh well, maybe the US will get it before PS4 come out
-
The Wii sequel is a piece of shit. A travesty compared to the original game.
-
Probably a port of the PS2 version, so it'll be missing a few bits (including 2 player!) and feature a few minor mechanic changes as detailed here: http://www.scoreattack.net/gameoverviewps2.php Also I bet you guys any money that they'll rip out Christmas Nights and sell it as DLC (just like the Sonic Adventure DX content) Most people probably wont care about these minor little bits, but because I already own NiGHTS and Xmas NiGHTS on Saturn, I'll pass on this one. Gimme a VC release of the original Saturn version on the Wii U VC and then we'll be talking!
-
Not impossible. Japan got a Theatrhthyhm promotion around launch where the DLC was offered at a reduced price (As did Fire Emblem Awakening with it's limited time free DLC) I bet when they do a promotion, it'll be for all the songs I already own...
-
That's of course assuming that Nintendo aren't still hiding a trick up their sleeve. We haven't had any QR unlockable courts yet...
-
All DLC songs are played in Challenge Mode (alongside all the other songs) There's a button on the title screen that brings up the DLC shop, that appears once you've beaten the tutorial. You can't miss it!
-
Oh yeah, I forgot he moved over there for Big Huge Games. Lol! that's a bit of a cockup on my part there! There's still plenty of brits floating around out there though. The UK industry is in a shambles right now
