Wait really!? What do they do? I honestly never expected them to work!

Breath of Fire 1 for SNES this week! Not only is it the first time that the SNES version has ever been re-released, but it is also technically the first actual western Square Enix VC release (on either Wii U OR 3DS) of this generation too! (Square Enix co-own the rights to the SNES version of BOF1 - which is why it has never been re-released until now) Now, if only we could get them to allow the same thing for Lufia 1 & 2 as well... (Like with BOF 1, they also co-own the rights to Lufia 1 & 2 on SNES...) Oh and 3DS gets treated to POKEMON MOTHER FUCKING PUZZLE CHALLENGE!!!! too! (pretty much all of you should know by now that I am a MASSIVE Puzzle League/PDP fan, so this VC release is a very big deal for me! )

Bit like Mario Party in general really :p

Welcome! : peace: I'm sure that I remember there being a welcome thread somewhere, but I can't seem to find it anymore for some weird reason... ) As for your problem... Hmm... I've never seen that happen before... Is the console displaying properly on the TV in Wii U Mode? Also, how have you got the console hooked up? HDMI? Component? Composite/Scart? (I hope not! ) It shouldn't be any sort of issue with your TV being incompatible, since the Wii U is upscaling the Wii visuals to 1080p before they get displayed on your TV - but maybe there's some sort of HDMI HDCP handshake issue messing things up? Have you had any problems with HDMI signals on your TV before? (While you're at it, have you tried using the Wii U on a different TV?) Oh and nice to see someone else eying the Australian version of the New3DS - as I'm eagerly (and impatiently!) awaiting my own one to arrive from Play Asia Either way, welcome to N-Europe!

Oh boy... Triple Groudon Rotation Battle is a go @Glen\-i
-
When have they NOT been on fire though? No really, the only time I could ever say that Nintendo as a whole was "off" was maybe 2002-2003, where they were rushing out their GCN games before they really felt they were finished (particularly Mario Sunshine and TLOZ: The Wind Waker). And even then, they were still amazing games! (Mathew Matosis when he referred to Mario Sunshine as "the most polished incomplete game ever made" :awesome: )

Bingo for the bolded. That's all you have to do. Just copy the full contents of your current SD card wholesale over to the Micro SD card that you want to use on the New3DS and continue to use it with your existing 3DS until your New3DS arrives. Then do a System Transfer and just take out the Micro SD, plonk it into the New3DS and away you go! Micro SD cards typically come with adapters that let them fit in standard SD Card slots anyway - so you shouldn't have to buy it seperately.

Do I smell DLC? @Glen\-i I TOLD YOU SO!! THERE IS STILL HOPE!!! hopefully it's just an unlockable though... Mystery Gift event or otherwise... Making that paid DLC would be really scummy...
-
I can only hope so. It'll suck something fierce if we have to wait till Monday before it even ships to HK from Australia... ... but I have a bad feeling...

Oh, never mind. Turns out that I was just following you on Miiverse. You are indeed gone from my friends list. You can actually make it so that Miiverse only shows posts made in your own language. It's an option in Miiverse settings (you can't do it from web Miiverse though, only from a Wii U/3DS console).

Aww, now I feel special because you kept me on it Miiverse can be a cool place if you go to the right communities. The Virtual Console game communities tend to have some pretty cool people posting there who actually have some nice insight (especially in the European ones, where lots of people are knowledgable about import games, version & localisation differences etc). The Japanese ones are cool too if you can stumble onto people there that understand English ). It's also really nice seeing people there playing these games for the first time (and they're usually pretty active too, so if you get stuck, people are usually pretty quick to help; which is pretty cool) and talking about what they like/don't like about classic games. It's also great for sharing high scores too! (The SMK and F-zero SNES communities have a pretty active time trial competitive side to them ) - or in the case of games like Advance Wars or Golden Sun, a nice way of sharing user made content like custom maps and passwords. The communities for the big games like MK8 are usually a waste of time though. Not only are they full of stupid kids, but they move so fast that you never really get much conversation going there anyway (though you do get the occasional funny caption - provided that you wade through the garbage... Unless you have the cool people on your activity feed, in which case you can see the good stuff without going through all the pap ) Then there are THOSE communities... Like Funky Barn and Life with Horses 3D (ALL HAIL WHITEHEART!!! WE BELIEVE IN YOU AND YOUR HORSE!!!). They're just plain funny

Or maybe he's being held prisoner down in the dungeons of NOA and those couple of posts he's made over the last 2 years are his cries for help? #FreeMikeybear!

Unless Nov 24 is the day that it gets sent from Australia to Hong Kong...
-
FUCK!!!! I BLOODY KNEW IT!!! There HAS been a delay at Play Asia. It's not gonna get shipped out until Nov 24 GODDAMMIT!!!!!!! Edit: Beaten by khilafah - as if I need anymore reason to be upset Now I'm gonna probably not get it till December

https://miiverse.nintendo.net/users/mikeybear/posts He's this creepy looking guy using a generic default looking Mii and with a whole whopping 2 posts made... (and a yeah!) Spooky...
-
Of course it was a good recommendation :awesome: It's even more fun in 2 player BTW! Do make sure you try multiplayer if you ever get the chance!
-
The C stick does work with MH3U AFAIK... Also the new 3D screen will be less likely to give you headaches because of the moving sweet spot...
-
DAT Super Stable 3D! DAT C Stick for Smash Bros and Monster Hunter! (and the aforementioned speed up for everything OS related like downloads, the 3DS Menu, Miiverse etc on top of that). Plenty of reasons to get it now, even before the actual New3DS exclusive software hits
-
Is anyone else ordering a New3DS from Play Asia? Has your console shipped yet? My face plates and charging cradle have shipped, but I'm getting really annoyed looking on Play Asia and seeing that my New3DS console is still awaiting shipping...
-
Hey! At least Nintendo have achieved one major sales milestone during this generation!
-
Pretty sure that's all on by default. I think they're linked though, so if you choose to disable the Miiverse screenshots, then that disables all screenshots (don't think you can allow them separately - why would you allow one but not the other anyway?) I know that by default with the Wii U SDK, screenshots are activated and the Gamepad is set to mirror the TV display (so any game that doesn't support even the most basic form of Off TV play has done so deliberately). I also know that you can selectively disable screenshots on Wii U games as well. So you can disallow screenshots in certain parts of the game, but allow it in others (The Pikmin short movies does this. It allows screenshots of the title screen and menus, but no screenshots of the actual shorts themselves; for obvious reasons really :p )

Miiverse screenshots are on by default. They actually had to put effort in to disable it
-
Yup, you clearly do I'm just a guy... A slightly insane and crazy guy who's a bit of a whore for good games and anything Nintendo, but ultimately just a guy :p Hell I don't even have enough time to play everything I've already got, let alone even more lol! Most of these classics will come eventually... In the end, I'll get the last laugh cause I'll be getting the best first time with them possible :awesome: Best not tell him that MHTri was my first Monster Hunter game and that I only went back and played the others afterwards...
-
I still have that replay BTW... I haven't updated yet... Nothing stopping us from recording it the old fashioned way (Plus I'm gonna be archiving it along with the version 1.03 patch in a few days - I mean, I have to do it anyway for when my New3DS arrives and I go to copy everything over :p )
-
Yeah, I've never played that one myself (always wanted to though! Come on Konami! Pull your finger out and get it on the VC already!!) but it does give me a similar vibe as what Wild Guns does for me! Very different type of game obviously (and of course SR doesn't pit you against giant robots either!) but it had that same kind of cool but quirky vibe I only got the chance to play Wild Guns when it first hit the Wii VC (it's another obscure, rare and expensive SNES game ), but it's really great! Really underappreicated and pretty dang unique! (It's also secretly one of the best 2 player games that the SNES has to offer too )
