Mine's still stuck in Germany! This is bollocks!! FUCK!! At this rate, I'll be lucky to even get it by Monday!!! FUCK YOU FEDEX!! Guess I'm playing ORAS on my old 3DS after all
-
So... Who wants to bet on me getting a Link Amiibo with a lazy eye? Knowing my luck, I'll probably end up getting one with a missing leg, or some other "special" birth defect :p
-
Yup, same here. Bloody annoying, such a stupid limitation (hopefully one that they'll iron out later on with future games...) At least my physical copy with the GCN adapter has shipped, so it's not ALL bad luck for me... At least I'll get to play it tomorrow with my Wavebirds
-
See, that's what I would expect to happen normally. But I've been suffering nothing but chronic bad luck for the last week or so, so I'm expecting my unlucky streak to continue through the weekend... Edit: Like just now! There was a glitch on the PSN store for a free copy of Trials Fusion and I literally just missed it by seconds. Typical
-
Oh, never mind. Looks like it literally JUST arrived in Germany a few seconds ago!! It's still taking an eternity though... I get the feeling that it's not gonna arrive till Monday now... YOU HAPPY NOW @Glen\-i!? LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!

The Evil Within - Mikami (360, PS3, PC and Next gen)
Dcubed replied to bryanee's topic in Other Consoles
Oh don't worry. That's the first thing I intend to do, I've heard all the nightmare stories about how it supposedly runs (didn't know there even was a demo till just now tonight!) As long as I can get it to run at at least 1080p @ 30FPS, I'll be happy Not too bothered about removing the bars or anything like that and I don't really care about ultra graphics settings nonsense :p -
Great. We WOULD happen to get a Steam Sale when my wallet looks like this... And it's even filled with stuff from my wishlist too... *Sigh*

The Evil Within - Mikami (360, PS3, PC and Next gen)

That Steam Sale price is more insane than the people in this game!! That's just nuts!! It's only been out for a little over a month!! At £11.99, I can't really say no. Gotta give it a go! -
I wish mine was... Mine spent an entire day "In Transit" in China seemingly being used in a roundtable game of pass the parcel It seemingly has only just finally been shipped out of Guangzhou a few minutes ago... to be sent to Germany, then France, then Stansted, then finally to my local Fedex facility... *Sigh* I CAN hear you you know... Way to blow his cover :p (Sorry @Glen\-i you'll have to try something smarter than that now - oh, and if it's any consolation, I already knew about the New3DS working like a network drive. It would've been a nice surprise if SOMEBODY didn't spoil that for me...) Don't worry though, I have another really neat surprise about the New3DS (that I'm not telling till I get it!) that I'm sure that you of all people will truly appreciate... Edit: It STILL hasn't arrived in Germany!? WTF!? WHAT THE HELL!? WHY!? Why am I the one who's getting screwed over!? What the hell did I do to deserve this!? How the hell can it take more than 9 hours to fly from Hong Kong to Germany!? HOW!? Are they even TRYING to deliver it!? Are they just taking the piss with me!? Someone please tell me that the FedEx tracking site is just lying to me, cause there is NO way that this looks right... (that latest update was over 9 hours ago!!) ... My other delivery just last week went through absolutely fine; it should not be taking THIS long!!!

Considering how strict Nintendo are being with Pokemon games and street dates, I wouldn't be surprised if Shopto's hands were tied here...
-
Yeah, I'm hoping that the Wii U stages have more dynamic elements than the pics of the day seem to let on... I also hope that not all of the new stages have actually been announced proper yet... (please don't tell me if they have or not because I've gone out of my way to avoid finding out one way or another!) I can't really see them topping the new 3DS only stages. They're all utterly fantastic!

Well yeah, that's true. The Oracles games are far more grandiose and wider in scope - to the point where they spread themselves far too thin really. Minish Cap is the polar opposite. It's small in scope and highly compact, crammed to bursting point with secrets and surprises in every nook and cranny - it's the same design philosophy that would go on to inspire Skyward Sword (which, incidentally was directed by the same person as who directed Minish Cap - Hidemaro Fujibayashi - and was also joined by most of the same staff who used to work at Flagship on the "Capcom Zeldas" before Flagship was shuttered and most of the staff absorbed by EAD and HAL), with the two games sharing a LOT in common! It's the difference between having butter scraped over too much bread vs having a single crumpet slathered in it! (ok, maybe not butter per-say, because the latter is just gross - but you get the idea :p ). The Kinstone system is also a little stroke of genius as it encourages you to explore, provides ample supply of worthwhile rewards for exploring and completing side quests (of which there are many, MANY of them! ) and is always exciting because you never know what each one is going to make happen! My only real disappointment in it is the somewhat over-reliance on existing characters/enemies/tropes from past games and the lack of difficulty overall.
-
Yeah, Minish Cap is really underrated! A massive improvement over the Oracles games in every single way! It's a shame that it doesn't get the dues it deserves really. Just like the DS Zelda games, it gets forgotten amongst the other games in the series and that's just not fair!

So if we were to do a regular Smash tourney, I was thinking that what we could do is split things up by mode and game. So what we would do is have 4 different tourney brackets that are kept track of separately, with the four different ones listed below... 3DS: For Glory Wii U: For Fun 3DS: For Fun Wii U: For Glory ... the idea being that each bracket would run for a week before swapping over to the next one (each overall tourney being monthly - If we can't really find a single day to play together on, we could just have the bracket run across the whole week; with the final happening on a set day.) That way both games are covered, people get to play the modes they want and there's less pressure for people to try and find time each and every week, as the four brackets would be counted completely separately (though they could choose to take part in more than one if they wanted to). We would have a set ruleset that we use across all four brackets (like say, 2 stock, 5 minutes, best of 3, set stages etc), which would be open to special theme nights/months. To keep things relatively short, we could limit each bracket to maybe 8 or 16 players? Players who don't get round to taking part against their chosen opponent within a set time would automatically forfeit the match. At the end of each month, we could have the winners of each bracket play against each other to decide this month's overall winner (if one player ends up winning more than one bracket in a month, then the other finalists could play each other to fight for a position in the monthly final) Maybe we could also have a general leaderboard keeping track of each player's total wins, total 2nd/3rd/4th places, average places in each bracket etc. The biggest challenge with doing a monthly Smash tourney thingy though is that it's hard to keep track of, since you can't just have big groups of 12 people like in Mario Kart... which also means that dealing with adding people to each other's friends list is also a giant pain in the bum... I suppose that we'll have an actual built-in tourney option in Smash Wii U come next year anyway though, which will hopefully simplify things greatly, but that would exclude the 3DS game; which would be a huge shame really... What do you guys reckon?

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/11/25/pokemon-omega-rubyalpha-sapphire-message-fans-pokemon-original-games/ That's awesome! I was hoping that they'd include something special for doing that!
-
Why do I get the feeling that the Wii U version is a port of the 3DS one and not the original Wii game... That cursor in that trailer doesn't look pointer controlled...
-
Those numbers are expected. Smash is always much more front loaded than Mario Kart. The real question though is what it's legs will be like. I get the feeling that ultimately, Kart will be the one that wins this race BTW, have we really discussed the possibility of a regular N-E League Smash tourney thingamajiggibob? You know, considering that the online net code doesn't suck donkey balls this time around? I dunno if anyone's really come up with any real plans, but I have some ideas about how I would like to see it work if you guys are interested... (Can't share them till later on tonight mind you) Oh and before I forget to mention it, great work on the banner @RedShell Looks brill! : peace:

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. My New3DS charging stand and coverplates took 4 days to come from Play Asia in Hong Kong (but that's because there was a Sunday inbetween. They were shipped on Thursday and arrived on Monday). So even assuming the same again, it should rightfully arrive on Saturday at the latest of course, that's assuming that no nasty customs shenanigans get in the way...
-
Nah, I just happen to have three days off in a row this weekend anyway (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). No booking off needed :awesome:

Once again, Jim is right on point here... for the most part... He says that they haven't ever stopped to build upon what they have made before... But that's exactly what they did with the modern Sonic sections of Generations - they're basically new Sonic Unleashed daytime levels with a few new tricks thrown in for good measure (though the Classic Sonic parts do sort of fit in with what he's saying), while Sonic Colours is clearly based off of Sonic Unleashed's gameplay, but does go a bit crazy in adding new stuff on top of that. So again, Jim is sort of right, but not completely here... They have had a base that they've worked on top of since Unleashed, but they've constantly kept throwing new shit left and right alongside it to see what sticks. That being said, he's absolutely right when he says that they should just stop and build off of Lost World. There's a great foundation that they've already laid down here! It's by far, the best set of core gameplay mechanics that they've ever had in a Sonic game since the original MD trilogy! They just need to sit down, refine them and fix the obvious flaws (simplify the controls a bit, probably do away with the Wisp powers and oh god please fix the player guidance/signposting issues with SLW! That's the game's number 1 problem; the core gameplay is really fun and there's a great set of mechanics used throughout, but they're just taught incredibly badly to the player - to the point where they just don't know how they even work!) and they'd have something really special on their hands!
-
Nice to see that the game origin/release date info is in the Wii U game's trophies Always bothered me that they were missing in the 3DS trophies section (guess it really was for lack of screen resolution after all :p )
-
AT LAST!!! IT HAS SHIPPED!!!!! Now the second waiting game begins... Looks like a Friday delivery might be possible but we'll see... Really don't want to start ORAS on my old 3DS when my New3DS is literally on its way...
-
Yes, this is indeed relevant to my interests This seems like a crossover that could make a lot of sense... ... but I wouldn't take the lack of a platform listing to mean anything. Of course it's gonna be a 3DS game - the New3DS only just bloody came out for goodness sake They just don't have anything to actually show yet.

Pokemon Puzzle League was an N64 game (incidentally, there WAS actually a Puzzle League game released on the GameCube, in the Japanese only Nintendo Puzzle Collection though - and incidentally, it's also my favourite game in the Puzzle League series ), Pokemon Puzzle Challenge is a GBC counterpart to the N64 game (and personally, I actually prefer it to the N64 game myself. Despite the technical limitations, and the lack of many of the N64 game's modes - it's just much more polished overall; plus it introduced the Garbage Mode, which is a lot of fun despite the unfortunate name ). The 3DS game you're thinking of is Pokemon Link Battle, which is completely unrelated to the Puzzle League series and not even worthy of being featured in the same sentence as Panel de Pon/Puzzle League!
