Odd that the PR mentions nothing about Gamepad integration outside of basic Off TV Play... I swear to God, if they drop the ball on Gamepad integration after all this time... I mean COME ON!!! It's the most obvious thing in the frickin' world!!!

And practically nobody ever will. The unlock requirements are insane!

What's new there? Nintendo have always been weak in the UK :p -
Crazy that we're getting both FAST Racing Neo and Steam World Heist on the same day! What a great week! Oh absolutely. Just be prepared for a long game that isn't afraid to kick your arse repeatedly and chances are that you'll enjoy it

Well yeah, the rendering style is obviously totally different, ignore that. Just look at his character design alone, outside of the more cartoonish/plastic looking rendering style...

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1152128 Less than 76K for Rainbow Six Siege's first week in the UK... Oh boy... Ubisoft have had a terrible year... Things are not looking good for them right now... (but very good for Vivendi!) -
Well it's not just the outfit, it's his proportions, his face (particularly the dark shadow around his eyes), everything that makes up his look; the two are surprisingly similar... The hair is probably different for technical/gameplay reasons (The Smash Bros character hitboxes are probably tied to the length of his hair, so they want it to be consistent all the time). It doesn't seem crazy to think that some collaboration was involved here (it gives them a reason to go over it in a special video as well, hence the Smash Broadcast?)

In this case, it is probably more of a necessity than anything else... Seems like a pretty sensible compromise, if they intend on getting anything out within this decade. It helps that the original game was already "episodic" in a sense, by virtue of being split up into 3 discs. Edit: More words from the FF7R Staff... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1152062 Hmm... I like the sound of the bolded But still, we'll see how tactical it ends up being...

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1151954 Ahh, looks like FF7 Remake will be an episodic game of sorts... Sounds like they plan to release each "Disc" separately... If it means that the game might actually eventually release one day, maybe it's not a bad thing here

Ahh! I love this game! Boxing is a brilliant little pick-up and play G&W title! : peace: Never played Polarium Advance, but I've played the DS original. It's ok, not bad. Not amazing, but not bad.

I can already see the merchandising machine whirring away... You know you'd buy the hell out of all the Tardis Diner toys they're gonna make
-
So... that FF7 Remake trailer just came out... Remarkably similar reinterpretations (hair aside) and neither of them went for the Advent Children design... I wonder if there was some direct collaboration with the Smash 4 team and the FF7 Remake team? Perhaps this is something they're gonna go over in the Smash Bros Special Broadcast? Perhaps it hints at FF7 Remake for NX? (We know it's not PS4 exclusive )

Yeah, I really was hoping that they wouldn't make it an action RPG. I've never seen a remake with such a drastic shift in gameplay before! I'm also really surprised that they seem to have lifted the combat straight from FF13 Versus, it's almost like Nomura reskinned his version of FF15 into this when he was taken off the project! But I'm not gonna comment one way or the other about whether I think it'll be good or not. I will say that if the combat is as braindead as the Kingdom Hearts games, FF13 or FF15 though, I'm not interested. I'm really hoping that despite the similar look it has to FF15, that it is much more tactical in nature... They've impressed me enormously with everything outside of the battle system so far... I was totally expecting them to ruin everything about FF7 and copy the style of that terrible Advent Children movie, but I am very pleasantly surprised to see that's seemingly not the case! It has been a long, long time since I have been genuinely interested in an internally developed Square Enix game (the last one was FF10 and no, that doesn't count games like FF3 DS or The World Ends With You, which were all made by outside developers) but they have my attention here. The jury is still out on the gameplay though...

I have to say that, even though the gameplay is obviously nothing like the original at all, I really like how it mostly sticks true to the original in terms of characterisation and story/cinematography (the dialogue seems pretty faithful as well ) and the voice casting seems on point too! Overall it's an amazing trailer that does feel magical (though I'll refrain from commenting on the battle system, because we really do know nothing about it at this point and for all we know, it may well be more tactical in nature than the likes of FF15 or Kingdom Hearts). That being said, I'm still not convinced that it's coming out during this decade, but I suppose that gives me a lot of time to watch the trailer over and over again :p

Interesting how a lot of the announcements at the PSX conference all carried an interesting title of "PS4 Console Exclusive", or "PS4 Console Debut" instead of the others that said "Only on PS4"... Me thinks that we'll be seeing the likes of FF7 Remake, Ni-No-Kuni 2, Yakuza 0 and NiOh coming to PC as well

I wasn't a huge fan of the original, but I'm glad to see the series continue! This is gonna be weird without Studio Ghibli's involvement... (I wonder if any of the SG staff are involved in this one, despite the studio being mothballed) It does look like they've done a good job recapturing the original game's look though! ... Still, at least Jo Hisaishi is providing the music, which will of course sound amazing

This game is nowhere near as far along as the trailer would suggest... Look closely... You notice how the trailer is made up of about 95% FMV cutscenes and a tiny amount of actual gameplay? (also notice how the gameplay portions currently run very poorly...) Also notice how they only show sections from the first 2 hours or so of the game? Visual Works will end up making the cutscenes well before any of the actual game itself is even remotely finished. Their work schedule has nothing to do with the actual game development team's. There's a reason why very little actual gameplay is being shown here... It looks like they're straight up reusing the FF13 Versus gameplay engine (the graphics engine is probably UE4, given that Nomura is directing this and KH3; the latter of which is currently running on it) The music is OUTSTANDING though! The orchestral mix is amazing

So I finally got a chance to play this recently... It's pretty fun actually While it is mostly pure luck as far as the board game goes, the Turnip price mechanic is what really makes the game. It definitely gives it somewhat of a Boom Street vibe, as you end up playing a game of chicken; wondering whether or not to take the risk for the chance to earn a ton of bells later on, or cash in now before a potential price crash happens. One thing that is pretty scummy though is that the players who are not using an Amiibo are at a straight up disadvantage because they don't earn that 1 extra happy point every time they roll the die. It's straight up bogus and there's no good reason for it as it effectively puts them at a potential 32 happy point disadvantage against every other player for no good reason Other than that though, it's not bad. I've yet to try Desert Island Escape, but I have tried the AC Quiz... It's HARD! It really does put your AC knowledge to the test! (I hope you're up on your Gyroid names!)

Reggie's tribute speech to Iwata at the VGAs... Pretty touching stuff, but what the hell is up with his voice!? He sounds like he's been given the Smash Bros 4 Fox voice treatment
-
I agree. It's very possible to work a full time job and still give yourself good time for gaming, without having to sacrifice everything else to do so. It's just a matter of priorities, personal habit and time management. I used to play more than I currently do, even when working full time and even when working part time while going to Uni, but I'm just getting old and my personal habits have changed in recent years as I demand a long stretch of time to enjoy playing now, rather than in smaller chunks.

Hey guys! Who else here is going to the Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions concert on December 20th? (@Serebii, I think I remember that you mentioned that you were going at least ) I was just thinking that it would be nice for some of us to meet up and hang out for a bit before the concert starts? (would also be a nice chance to trade/battle Pokemon as well for some of you Pokemaniacs out there ) Perhaps meet at a nearby bar, like The William Morris Wetherspoons a couple of hours or so before the show starts? Anyone here up for it?

Next week's Jimquisition will be a fun one! -
People calling it cheap because it reuses the Dream Team engine are idiots. Where were these people when Bowser's Inside Story came out? It's the same thing! Or what about games like Majora's Mask or Spirit Tracks? Same thing again! Or even games like Gears of War 2 and 3, or Metroid Prime 2 and 3, or Uncharted 2 and 3. They're all using enhanced versions of the same engines as their predecessors and tons of assets from them as well. Why WOULDNT you re-use them if you can? Yup. Dream Team does not mess around at all! It gets face punchingly hard very quickly! I take some issues with the game (mainly with the lack of platforming challenges, slow pace and the very easy puzzles) but the battle system and the battle difficulty is not one of them!
