Mario Kart 64 didn't get a FIGS translation back in the day (it was English only in Europe) so it's almost certainly the 60hz version that we'll be getting here

Not necessarily... There have been a good few 60hz VC games where they failed to mention what version it was in the PR... I don't see this being 50hz when games like SM64, 1080 and WaveRace have all been 60hz. Hell they all have more text than MK64 anyway!

There's a few comparison videos out now that compare the game running on a normal 3DS VS a New3DS... Not looking good for the old 3DS here... (and bear in mind that S3D isn't available at all on the old model, so the comparison in person is even less flattering to it than these videos would suggest!)

Agreed. It has gotten some pretty remarkable support from smaller publishers and independent developers; much more than I had ever expected it to get. It's light on exclusives, but it has done very well in terms of multiplatform smaller scale releases. They would be wrong of course. The 3DS may not have been the juggernaut that the DS was, but it does shift sizeable amounts of software still and in terms of hardware sales, it'll probably end up topping the GBA when all is said and done (the hardware sales wont stop when the NX handheld comes out either...) It has done remarkably well considering the market factors involved.

Everything on Wii Ware and Virtual Console has been archived and is freely available on the internet via illicit means; so they're safe no matter what happens (not that I think that the Wii Shop Channel is going anywhere any time soon). DLC is a trickier matter, but worse still are the many updates and various versions of games that are available. While I'm sure these companies are archiving each version (I know that Nintendo do at least, they're released many different versions of games on the VC; Majora's Mask on the US VC was actually an earlier version with specific glitches like the Fierce Deity's Mask anywhere glitch being intact, while the UK VC version was a later one), they're unlikely to give out each and every single version when re-releasing them. So what if you want to roll back to an earlier version because it had a cool speed running glitch that you like? (I'm looking at you DKC, with your map warp glitch that was removed in Ver 1.2; the version that is on the Wii U VC), you can't! These companies should be making every version available and all the DLC available at every opportunity, but that's just not happening; let alone dealing with licensing issues... Again, we have to turn to pirates who keep this stuff all archived and that's not right!

Wow! That's awesome! Cheers for posting that! : peace: It was probably the prototype for Mario Paint (which in of itself is kind of a prototype for Super Mario Maker and Wario Ware DIY ). Cool to see the SNES Dev Kit as well! (Four controller ports? Guess they had that in mind well before the N64!) Had no idea that they were developing a SNES keyboard and Microphone as well! That patent is a real treasure!

Oh, my bad. Then it's the opposite then. You need a Step Up Converter or a US N64 power supply. Again, travel adapters do not do any voltage conversion, so your N64 isn't currently getting enough voltage to be powered. Also, the fact that it's PAL also makes things complicated... Generally speaking most US/Canadian Standard Definition TVs do not support PAL video signals, so you're probably only going to get it working on a HDTV (which would likely support PAL video signals). You might get lucky and get a non HDTV to work with it, but they're generally pretty rare... -

Oh, you're using a US N64 in the UK? Well no wonder it's not working! You need to use a Step Down Converter if you're using a US N64 with a US PSU in the UK. Travel adapters will not work because they don't perform any actual voltage conversion. Alternatively you can actually use a UK N64 PSU on a US N64 with no problems at all (I currently do that myself) -

Sounds like the cartridge/slot just needs a good blow... A proper cleanout would be better of course. Otherwise, I can't think of what it could be other than a damaged N64 You say that you've tried other cables... As long as it's a SNES/N64/GCN composite/compositeScart cable (not RGB Scart, N64 doesn't support RGB - you use one of them and you'll just get a blank picture), it should work fine. -
It depends on how it's implemented... If it's something that requires repeated use, like say for example there's a pattern on a wall in the new TP dungeon that you absorb with the Amiibo and then paste onto a corresponding wall in Zelda Wii U to solve a puzzle, then it wouldn't really work via traditional save file sharing means... We are kind of jumping to conclusions here, especially with a series like Zelda that is known for crazy stuff that fully utilities Nintendo's unique hardware like this

The new dungeon is probably where the main links between Zelda TP HD and Zelda Wii U come into play in terms of transferable data, so I reckon that the new dungeon's gimmick probably wouldn't work if you didn't have the Wolf Link amiibo anyway. Until we know exactly how it works, we can't really say that it's "DLC in disguise" yet... They're obviously using the writeable storage capabilities of the Amiibo for something here, so it's not just unlocking stuff in Zelda TP HD...

The Amiibo use is interesting in that it allows you to share data between this and Zelda Wii U... Just what data exactly ARE you sharing... What from TP could be transferred in particular... (it wouldn't be something stupid like Rupees or something like that, it has to be something specific to TP...) Maps? Puzzle completion? (maybe there's a puzzle that you solve half of in Zelda TP and the second half of in Zelda Wii U? - imagine if you had to jump back and forth between games repeatedly to solve it! ) Rollogoal making a return in Zelda Wii U?

Wow! They're actually adding new areas to the game!? Seems that the changes may be more extensive than we first thought TP is a game that could do with lots of little tweaks and additions... Seems like they're trying to flesh out Hyrule Field and add more stuff to find and do within it I noticed from the scans that Link can now hold up to 2000 rupees now as well, so hopefully that'll put an end to this... Here's hoping that this new dungeon makes extensive use of the Spinner!
