  1. Lovely trailer, makes me want it now!
  2. https://nintendosoup.com/nintendo-has-caught-the-culprit-behind-the-pokemon-sword-and-shield-leaks/ Whelp! Looks like they did indeed find out who did the deed... You are already dead...
  3. Just finished watching it, completely agree on all fronts. The lack of transparancy is completely purposeful and it's absolutely designed to trick you into continuing to engage with a game, even (no, especially) if you're not having fun; and to promote the idea that spending money on microtransactions is the social norm. Shame on Nintendo for stooping to this low with Mario Kart Tour; I would've thought that they were above this... sadly not... Iwata would be spinning in his grave
  4. https://www.resetera.com/threads/ed-bryan-artist-on-banjo-kazooie-dk64-viva-pinata-joins-playtonic-games.151082/ Nice
  5. Sure, why not? Just let me know when you guys are recording, how you're setting up the room and such. I'll see if I can capture the gameplay footage for you guys (alongside Sam's go at it) and we'll take it from there
  6. I use the Elgato HD60 myself. It's a bit old now (there are some newer versions out now), but it still does flawless quality 1080p/60FPS and does a fab job of capturing video/audio via HDMI. The newer models seem to be about £150 on Amazon, but the older models are probably cheaper if you shop around. It's the device I used to make all of the NEShow/MK Highlight/Smash Bros Tourney videos for the site, so that'll give you an idea of the level of quality you can expect. Other than the Elgato, you'll need a PC/laptop to connect it to and that's about it really! It has a HDMI passthrough, so you don't need anything else if you're just looking for a basic HDMI game capture setup (If you want to capture older consoles, or integrate it into an AV Reciever setup? Then it gets a bit more complex...) BTW: If you want to do this show as a Smash Bros tourney, I still have all of the graphics and material I used to make the old N-E Smash Bros Tourney highlight videos that I can give you guys as well! I might be able to chip in as well with some editing duties as well, but that's all dependent on how much time I end up having on my hands when you guys happen to be recording anything.
  7. Right, watched it. I actually think you guys gelled pretty well, especially for a first crack at it; not bad, would listen to you guys more. The footage situation is unfortunate though; it did end up harming the video cast as a whole. I do think that it’s a good idea with some potential though; I can see how having matching video of you guys playing while shooting the breeze can work and I reckon it could make for a good show. These things do happen though and sometimes things just don’t go to plan with the recording (I’ve been there, it really sucks when it happens); so I think you guys should look to get a few of you capturing video feeds individually, not just one of you. It not only gives you insurance if one person’s video feed buggers up, but it also means that you have additional footage to splice in and play around with in editing. Though this isn’t as useful in Smash as in other games (since all the action is confined to one screen), it would be very useful if you guys did decide to play other games as well. If you're doing this from a room created by @Glen-i; I can actually set it up to capture the footage for you guys as well from my end, giving you another chunk of footage to make use of! (How are you guys sharing files?).
  8. In non-leak news... https://nintendoeverything.com/game-freak-on-why-pokemon-is-finally-implementing-auto-saves-with-sword-and-shield/ Autosaving is optional and can be switched off! You can also still use manual saves, even if you have autosave turned on. So fear not, you can still endlessly soft-reset for perfect natures/IVs @Glen-i
  9. 6 million by the end of March!? No way. As great as that would be? I think that's overly ambitious. I do think it'll outsell LM2's life-time sales by a fair margin (8-10 million is very doable), but not that quickly. Yeah, I cracked a big smile when I saw that Was nice to see that Metroid Prime Federation Force got included too.
  10. That's exactly how I felt when playing it. It feels like the Zelda Wii U game we never got and that was the kind of feeling I was trying to get across in the review (without being too explicit about it); the boss battles, level design and puzzles feel like they were ripped right out of a long-lost Zelda game and it's amazing!
  11. That was great! I didn't even spot the piece of cake before! BTW, I meant to ask earlier @RedShell, how the hell did you make that Halloween stage work!? How did you make it only sometimes kill you? That stage is amazing!
  12. That's only the Screampark minigames that are available from the get-go. The main Scarescraper multiplayer mode is only available after you unlock Googi in single player (which makes sense... or else you'd have no idea of what to do in mutiplayer when you actually have to use him!)
  13. Ultimately there's nothing they can really do other than blacklist and take legal action against those who do end up dumping and distributing review copies of games. That's if they can even figure out who did the deed in the first place. The only alternative is to just not give review copies out; and that's not really much of an alternative is it?
  14. I've always wondered why they didn't do this with the 3DS titles. It seemed like such a no brainer thing to do when data-mining and cheat devices are basically targetted squarely at the mainline Pokemon series
  15. I don't think that they literally give out review copies to anyone lol. They do give out review copies to people who run moderately popular Youtube channels though... and surprise surprise, look at just how many Switch games get leaked out before release all of a sudden! This isn't a new phenomenon though. GBA games were notorious for this happening; Sonic Advance 3 is a famous example, where a review copy cartridge was dumped and uploaded three months before its release! Likewise, The Minish Cap was leaked early; as were many other titles. It has become a lot more common with Switch though... I don't recall leaked copies like this being so common with DS and 3DS...
  16. I don't think it's the streetdate being broken, but rather someone getting a review copy and proceeded to make an illegal pirate copy available for download. Sadly this has become very commonplace with Switch games as Nintendo seek out coverage from Youtube "influencers" and the like; people who have proven themselves to be often less than trustworthy. Speaking of which, GoNintendo/Contra Network are well known for downloading pirate copies of games and using them for early press coverage/tech "analysis". I suspect that all of the major Pokemon fansites have also done the same... so best keep away from them until the game comes out...
  17. No, you have to first unlock Gooigi; which is about 2 hours or so into the game.
  18. I'm coming for you Glen-i!
  19. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
  20. Wow! Wasn't expecting them to announce it for Switch alongside the other platforms! Legit surprising! Times really are changing for Nintendo it seems!
  21. The show must go on with Fallout 76! It Just Doesn't End!
  22. On the bright side, Pokemon US/UM is now officially the best selling 3rd version of any Pokemon game in the entire series; it just beat Pokemon Black2/White2.
  23. Wow! Wasn't expecting the reviews to be so mixed! (Guess Sony's check must've bounced ) Very unusual reviews for a game like this.
