Explorers of Sky Remake Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! (and not the Let's Go kind of remake!) -
Elden Ring (25th February 2022) | Shadow of the Erdtree (21st June 2024)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
I mean, it's literally the most reviewer friendly game you could possibly make. It was always destined to review incredibly well. Souls + From Software + Open World + Game of Thrones + Early-Generation "Next Gen Experience". It literally can't fail. Will be an absolutely rip-roaring sales success for sure. -
Oh snap! That's massive. Huge, huge blow for Activision and the traditional AAA console gaming sector as a whole.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (19th November 2021)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This is a joke! The game has been out for 4 months and it STILL isn’t finished! GTS might as well never get added into the game at all at this point. What a complete shitshow! -
I think it’ll hit within this fiscal year, but maybe not until March 2023.
-
Well that’s fair enough then. Remember that save files for physical games are stored on the 3DS game card itself; so you should probably just move all of your digital games over to the fully working 3DS and just use the Zelda one for retail games that don’t use the shoulder buttons then.
-
Why do you need two seperate 3DS consoles? Why not just have everything on the one machine?
-
It's all or nothing. Everything gets moved over to the new system; including DSiWare, 3DS games, save files, Miis; the lot. You cannot split them across two systems.
-
It stayed in bed.

For those of you that are interested in the Egret 2 Mini? Strictly Limited Games have started pre-orders for the unit now!

Well, Nintendo have never really been huge proponents of the moneyhat strategy in general. They generally try to avoid it unless they have no choice (like on 3DS, when they basically paid for all of S-E's localisations from 2013 onwards because they were desperate for 3DS 3rd party support outside Japan). It's also a big reason why they lost Capcom's support with Switch. Nintendo paid for the publishing and distribution of ALL of Capcom's releases on 3DS and Wii U up until Ultra Street Fighter 2. As soon as they stopped paying, Capcom dumped Switch like a lead balloon... all the way up until Nintendo paid for MH Rise timed exclusivity. The Moneyhat Strategy is a bit of poisoned chalice in the long-run. As soon as you show that you're willing to pay and play the game? 3rd parties will expect you to keep on paying their racket to keep getting their support. Microsoft for example get literally zero Japanese games now unless they pony up for each and every single one they get.
-
Oh defo. All of the big 3 play the moneyhatting game; it's just that Nintendo is typically less willing to pay than the rest. I'm just surprised that Nintendo were willing to pay S-E for Live A Live of all things! But then again, that's from Team Asano; and they're basically a Nintendo studio by proxy at this point
-
It's also a fantastic example of the Colon Cancer trope!
-
Agreed. Reverse mode in Wave Race 64 is super awesome! Way more interesting than Mirror Mode! Would love to see that happen

26/08/2022 in the west? Nice! Much earlier than I expected! The gameplay is literally just TMS 2 lol. I don't know why they're pretending that this is a sequel to the original Soul Hackers, it doesn't even remotely resemble the original Soul Hackers whatsoever. This is Tokyo Mirage Sessions 2 with a non-copyright infringing skin.
-
Nah, the only reason it's coming to Xbox is because they're paying for the port. There is no way that it would be getting an Xbox release (especially not in Japan!!) if MS weren't footing the bill. Sony definitely paid to block the Switch release, just like they did for Monster Hunter World. I am willing to bet money on this being true. The platform choice is absolute suicide in Japan. It's even the same team behind TMS working on this one (probably even the same engine; which already runs on Switch); I cannot believe that this platform choice is not a political one. Definitely. We'll probably get it early 2023, and it'll probably come to Xbox Gamepass on day 1.
-
Coming out 25/08/2022 in Japan on everything except for Switch (Sony moneyhats strike again!) There's also a Playstation version specific Special Edition pack as well... I'm surprised that Phil's cheque cleared in time for this one though... Will look forward to playing this one on Gamepass in 2023 when it comes out over here Platform moneyhats aside though, it looks good. The Tokyo Mirage Sessions (TMS) influence is strong with this one! Edit: Looks like I was right! It is indeed the TMS team working on this one!

Yeah, that post-launch update is well overdue at this point. It's pretty crappy that we're 4 months out from launch and the game is still not finished! Where is the damn GTS!? Where is Home support!? Where are the Link Battles!?!?
-
So... I guess that means that we're not getting a Pokemon Day Direct this year then? Bummer So much for us getting that Explorers of Sky remake any time soon...
-
Crappy logo, very sweaty video, Hot Ryu is IN. Overall, nice teaser. Will almost certainly be PS5 exclusive as Sony won't be able to resist buying exclusivity, especially with them now owning Evo. What's much more important than any of that junk however... is this... Yusuke Hashimoto (Director of Bayonetta 2 who left Platinum back in 2019 for unknown reasons) is now back at Capcom and is working on this game!!
-
They would have to modify quite a few tracks to make them work in reverse; adding cannons, jumps etc to get you back. So it wouldn't be an insignificant amount of work (which is probably why they dropped the idea during development originally). That being said though, the MK Tour tracks have already been designed with Reverse CC in mind already... I certainly don't think it's impossible to make it also happen with the existing MK8 tracks (they do have 2 whole years to make it happen after all!). Would be a great way to give MK8 a real send-off!
-
Random speculation... I wonder if Nintendo could be planning on bringing back MK8 DX's previously scrapped Reverse Mode with this upcoming DLC? (Yes I've been browsing TCRF again!) I mean... Mario Kart Tour did actually steal this concept and actually incorporate reverse variants of many of its own tracks... With all of these new DLC tracks all coming from Tour... I could see them pulling this surprise out of their hat at some point (perhaps with the final DLC pack) with a new Reverse CC Mode!

Speaking of Mario Kart 8... https://tcrf.net/Mario_Kart_8#Totaka.27s_Song Totaka's Song has been found in Mario Kart 8!!!
-
This isn't new news or anything, but Dolphin Shoals is the single best piece of music in the entire Mario Kart series. Just spent the last hour listening to this absolute AURAL SEX! Oh that sax solo is just absolutely GLORIOUS!! Man, I think the Wii U/3DS era might well be when Nintendo's musicians were at their absolute PEAK!
-
Ahh, fair enough then. I wouldn't pay that much either.
