COVID-19 (The artist formally known as Coronavirus)
Londragon replied to bob's topic in General Chit Chat
And even before the WHO started towing the CCP line, Taiwan was closing down all travel to and from WuHan because their own experts had seen all that was necessary to show that it was being transmitted between humans. Why couldn’t the WHO ‘see’ the same evidence? The Director General of the WHO is from Ethiopia, a country that has been accepting massive amounts of economic and infrastructure money from China. He has shown where his loyalties lie, and he needs to go. -
Last shout out for anyone interested in voting for April’s Modern Metroidvanias. The 3 games are Axiom Verge, Ori and the Blind Forest or SteamWorld Dig. Voting closes on April 4th.

Ohh, uncles at Nintendo? I am really excited for all the lineup of the 2K games now. The more I look into each of the games, Borderlands included, I feel the necessity to purchase all of them. Probably not at once, but over the next year probably. Can't say enough good things about Good Job!, and I haven't played it. Basing all my enthusiasm from videos online. The more I think about Bravely Default, the worse it gets. That demo didn't gel with me at all. Even more excited now than I was when recording. A tentative 2020 release date needs to be clarified quickly. I'm one of those gamers with only a Switch and nothing else to play on, and that's not going to change. So, I suppose this Direct really was for me. Sad to hear others so downbeat, but who knows what's coming in the second half of the year? Hopefully, more than just those rumoured Mario remasters. No Transition Tunes guesses yet.

N-E Café [020] The Smallest Direct Ever is now available at all good podcast providers. Check out the opening post for more details about where you can get your ears around the N-Europe Podcast. The 20th N-E Café Podcast has Lee Davies, Gregory Moffett and Nick Lone discuss those games that need to return to Nintendo’s catalogues. They also discuss the recent Nintendo News, focusing on the mini Direct; games they’ve been playing, featuring Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikuniku and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer; and Ealdst’s Listener Question.

Quoting as it's now on a new page, and added all the votes up to this post. Is Axiom Verge making a late comeback?
-
We've had a couple of correct guesses for the Transition Tunes. Been keeping quiet on revealing the answer as the podcast we'll record later today will reveal who was the quickest on the trigger. A bit of Direct talk, and Ealsdt's listener question to tackle this week. Any more listener questions for future episodes, keep them coming, and thanks.

Just saw a cool little Musical chairs game being played with tree stumps. The host was playing the wind pipes, visitors have to move while music is being played, and they had 6 visitors, but only 5 tree stumps in a circle. When the host stops playing the music, all visitors run to sit down on a stump. The unlucky, and unseated visitor is out and coughs up a bag of bells. Then dig up one stump, fill in the hole and repeat until you have a winner. Winner takes everyone’s bells. Looked good fun

Gaming Podcasts: A Thread about Listening to Others
Londragon replied to Goron_3's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I didn't mean to big up our Podcast, but NVC has helped me. We are a 3 person podcast, doing it for the love of gaming, across 2 continents and numerous time zones, in our spare time, and the sound quality is quite literally fantastic. NVC over the last 2 weeks have had to record from home (COVID-19), have teams of sound engineers on their paylist, and they sound atrocious. Get your shit together. -
Indie World Presentation 17/03 5pm GMT / 6pm CET
Londragon replied to Nicktendo's topic in Nintendo Gaming
You probably heard my likes and dislikes on the podcast, but here it is in visual form. -
Great free update, will try it out this morning. Perfect timing for me, too. Just coming to the end of Adventure mode. Hope there’s a new game plus type situation, or I’ll just play through the whole thing again.
-
The smile on my face is real, so much to like in that Direct. Yes, I’ve heard the lack of first party stuff argument, but that 51 World Games is genius, loved the DS version, instant buy. 2K’ stuff, Burnout, Star Wars Racer, lots to love for me.

What!!

Ori is running away with it, votes up to here counted.

Go on Jonnas it's a good game. When there are good questions, we'll answer them. Thanks for the question. Keep them coming, please. I feel E3 will try to come back the same, but will fail in doing so, and have to revert back to what it was, albeit a little smaller from the major publishers who'll continue their Digital Events Thought Greg chose the wrong game as the masterpiece, what do I know? 🤷♂️ Fireworks - Any time of the day, this is Taiwan. Will check out Frame Trap this week. Thanks again for the fantastic feedback, both. And, to all. Any listener questions you'd like to see us tackle on future episodes?

Mental, and if it’s on the 26th as rumoured, it won’t be announced until tomorrow. Lots of angry fanboys tonight.

Disney can stick this service where the sun doesn’t shine. Allowing Liu Yi Fei to get away with what she said about the freedoms of Hong Kong citizens, is tantamount to endorsing that viewpoint. Fucking capitalist scummery at the highest level.

It feels like we've had a week off due to re-scheduling the recording time, but we're back on track. Every Tuesday we'll be dropping a new podcast and today is no exception. N-E Café [019] Scoring a Review is with us. The 19th N-E Café Podcast sees Lee Davies, Gregory Moffett and Nick Lone break down the pros and cons of review scores and hark back to the good old days of magazine reviews. They also discuss the recent Nintendo News; games they’ve been playing, featuring Super Mario 64, Nick’s sales picks and the Hotline Miami Collection; and HOT’s Listener Question. This is episode 19 of the N-E Café Podcast, an N-Europe Podcast. Enjoy!

Over in the N-Europe Video Game Club thread, we've been whittling down the last few entrants to the game we'll all vote on for April's community sharing event. @S.C.G came up with the finalised title of Modern Metroidvania's and the selection is based on price, accessibility and desirability. The 3 games to vote from are; Modern Metroidvania Axiom Verge Ori & the Blind Forest SteamWorld Dig Voting is to end on April the 4th, we'll announce the winner here and on the N-E Cafe podcast (episode 21) recorded on Sunday, April 5th. Gaming to commence for the full month of April, and I'll collect everyone's viewpoints on the winning game, and we'll record the PodPals podcast on Sunday, May 3rd (episode 25). You can stick your vote on which game you want to play either here, at our social media channels, or over here (Video Game Club Thread)
-
So, to give a finalised post for voting, here we go. Modern Metroidvania Axiom Verge (2) Ori & the Blind Forest (6) SteamWorld Dig (2) Voting to end on April the 4th, we'll announce the winner here and on the N-E Cafe podcast (episode 21) recorded on Sunday, April 5th. Gaming to commence for the full month of April, and I'll collect everyone's viewpoints on the winning game, and we'll record the PodPals podcast on Sunday, May 3rd (episode 25). @Nicktendo so, which one are you plumping for? Axiom Verge or Ori?
-
Sorry for the double post; Personally, I’d like to play through SteamWorld Dig again.
-
Yeah let’s vote, Sam’s suggestion of modern day Metroidvania’s is a good one. As for closing dates; End of the month to get your vote in, I can mention it on the podcast next week, for last minute voting, and then we’ve got pretty much all of April to play through the winner.
-
So, no more takers (apart from them 3). Whittling down the list to something short, on a few platforms and/or likely to be cheap. 1. The Room 2.SteamWorld Dig 3.Axiom Verge 4. Doom (Original) 5. Turok 6. Ori & the Blind Forest 7. Pikuniku (currently 89p on the eShop) Still a few too many for voting??
