  1. sweet fucking Christ. I go away for two days and I come back to this! Gentlemen, please. This is unhealthy.
  2. Bitchin episode. and just when I was about to drop Lost forever.
  3. same here. He's basically like Rogue without the side effects.
  4. Listening to The Warning by Hot Chip Damn it's good.
  5. Pozition is for noobs man! get to Welly tonight instead and buy me a drink for being so awesome
  6. Airplane! hilarious. Airplane/10.
  7. I'd give it a 7 myself Gaggle. I loved the techno noir atmosphere to it all- black clad fem fetal, broken hero and corrupt society and betrayal all present, correct and accounted for. and the visual style really is gorgeous.
  8. is that at the cinema or on DVD?
  9. Just a guess. Hiro is already trying to get there, and Niki is in the same area as him. It makes sense
  10. I have a feeling the cliffhanger to this next episode is worth putting in italics it's going to be so immense
  11. yeah. Probably the weakest episode like booker said but It pretty much explains what the womans powers are, and her husbands.
  12. winner! I've always liked oddworld, even if I couldn't play Stranger because of the controls.
  13. Sawyer looks like a butt munch with a ponytail. that's pretty much what I learned.
  14. well if you override (or lack) that feeling, you're pretty much a sociopath like we've mentioned already. Obviously they have little or no connection to society as a whole.
  15. my point being that morality is not an alien concept to atheism. Secular morality is based on conscience/instinct and social conditioning. what you have to understand is that on some basic mental level, murder is fundamentally wrong because we possess empathy.Anyone with a lack of ability to do this is considered to be a psychopath. somebody who can, and will, kill because they simply lack the capability to see beyond themselves and how their actions affect others. Religion doesn't really come into it as far as I can see. It's true that they say 'thou shall not kill' and they certainly attach the ultimate punishment to such an act, but really that's just an extension of the human instinct to not kill rather than the cause of it if you follow me...
  16. I'm having trouble getting into your assumption that an atheist has no moral foundation to follow. You seem to be ignoring the fact that a secular legal system and all that implies is based on moral obligation. stealing is morally wrong and thus you should be punished for doing so.
  17. this story is starting to bore me. its too slow and quite frankly I don't give much of a shit about anyone. I hope it gets better, but to be honest I'm not bothered. Heroes is far more interesting these days. as is prison break for that matter.
  18. ah thanks for the heads up. I'll fix that..
  19. I wouldn't know. I never go anywhere else but in here :P
  20. OK, here's the crack. this here be a thread to name drop and inform the unwashed masses about the bands you've come across on myspace and the like- small bands that wont be that well known or don't have much material out. I'll start with two personal favorites I may well have mentioned Performance Performance are a Manchester based art pop electro outfit, mixing articulate lyrical style with punchy bass lines and sweeping keyboards. They owe elements of their style to the likes of New Order and The Human League while retaining a very modern edge to their sound. I like these guys alot- you can buy a four track LP and a single of theirs off itunes. Art Department These guys are good friends of mine from Sheffield. slightly reminiscent of early days radiohead and the like, they have a taste for the epic bombastic pop song. combining truly superb vocals and effects driven sharp guitars with thudding bass lines they're probably one of the best bands on the Sheffield gig scene right now. hopefully destined for greater things. They've certainly got the talent for it.
  21. I watched brokeback mountain the other day. This is, without a doubt, one of the best films I've ever seen in my life. Words can hardly do justice to the performances on display here. Heath Ledgers portrayal of the repressed and deeply unhappy Ennis is truly magnificent- creating a character on a par with Travis Bickle and Michael Corleone. Jake Gyllenhall, too, gives a brilliant performance to Jack Twist- deeply unhappy in a family that does not want him in their lives and unable to find happiness without Ennis, he constantly dreams of them having a life together, unable to bring his hopes to reality. It really is magnificent. A tragedy on societies inability to fight prejudice and the very human desire for love and how it can destroy us when we are unable to follow through with our feelings. truly incredible. 11/10
  22. well that goes without saying, really.
  23. good point. I'm growing particularly fond of the cop- he can read minds like a badass and has thus far used it to greatest effect to get some action. awesome.
