last night I got....remarkably hammered. gARRY gREATIE's 21st occurred and featured copious quantities of free booze. lots of fun was had, though I lost my coat somewhere in the house and couldn't think to look properly. bit annoying as my keys were in it and i had to wake my parents up. oops. looks like my day is a write off though. one of those deep, fatigue hangovers that simply have to be dealt with in a dressing gown

but Sheffield is better (seriously though- depends what you want to do. Either are pretty respectable and don't really compete on common ground)

I've got the item fanfare off super metroid as my text tone. It's completely baddass.

so in other news: I hate my life! I've just been put on a mandatory scheme with jobseekers to go on a 2 week course to 'work on my CV and apply for jobs'. My CV is perfectly written, thanks I already apply for jobs, ta. I can't bare this much longer. I'm going mad. I'm surrounded by fucking morons who's lives revolve around tick boxes and the shapeless void between their ears. I can't deal with them- they don't work like humans. fuck fuck fuck fuck. fuck them. fuck it all. I need a hug

Much as this amuses me, you're clutching at straws there.

Another thing that strikes me: the entire song is about having an orgasm. This, surely, is not what they're looking for

got this. very nice. the animation is fucking amazing. When you string together a few moves over longer distances and it just flows and flows with no pauses, no glitches and nothing even close to a transition issue it's nothing short of astonishing. Enjoying this 'no death' smoke and mirrors lark too. Functionally exactly the same as the previously titular sands gizmo, and a far, far preferable experience to a YOU ARE DEAD screen (um, note to developers: no I'm not. Look, a continue button!) Combat is sweet too. Not sure if it'll ever be particularly tense but it's spectacular, full of character and the atmosphere of an old school, mythological adventure is a perfect fit for the whole shebang.

ooh we're still on the beard. Good: go for a proper goatie. It's a commendable beard, but it would look better on a smaller scale. so...yeah go go fence sitting.

Well for starters I plain disagree with that, but that's not what's so bad about this news for me. What they're doing is turning quite possibly the song which has had the greatest impact on my life and turning it in to a soul less, saccharine load of shit for a quick buck. I grew up on Grace. It's the album that, above all others, means something to me. It made me love music. I listen to it when I'm down, I listen to it when I'm happy, when I think, when I've loved, when I've been broken hearted. I've owned a copy since I was 15 and never stopped listening to it. Every nuance, every note, every blissful vocal touch, every beautiful note is ingrained on my mind permanently and I know I'll never, ever get bored of it. This is one of the greatest albums ever made by an artist who's untimely death is, in my opinion, a greater loss to music than Jimi Hendrix; and here we are: Simon Cowell and his band of fuckwads are going to introduce thousands upon thousands of people to one of the best songs of all time with a half baked cover version thrown together to exploit public interest in his god awful shitfest of a show. What a fucking insult.

Happy Birthday. also: yes, that pun was practically stale (yeah I did.)

It's been bought to my attention that a cover of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah is, this year, to be the X-Factor number 1. God, can you imagine that being the first version you hear with one of those vomit inducing photo montage videos? uuuaarrgh! fuuuuuuuuck! Man it's got me so furious! is nothing sacred?

You're supposed to sneak past them failing that- organised, prepared gunnage from really far away works.

I've heard of it. Sadly, looks like the 360 version has been hit too. I'm psyching up with a bunch of my regs for No Mercy extreme mode next week. We're going to be butchered.

console RTS games do work: Endwar and RA3 have proven that.

cod4 was OK, but Halo was still the daddy. Gears 2 is the first real alternative game that's grabbed my interest online from Halo. CoD was too easy, I felt.
