  1. so: rumor has it that Halo 2 is being shut down once ODST launches. this means that 'oldbox' XBL is pretty much over and Microsoft can expand the friends list past 100- an antiquated constraint from the service's younger days.
  2. God, it really doesn't warrant discussion, does it? the whole shitfest of the second two films collapses like a pack of cards under the most superficial of scrutiny. Do what I do: Pretend they were never made.
  3. Preview of Bendis and Maleev's Spider-Woman #1 Looks great. Alex Ross cover, too.
  4. Everything I've heard so far is utter shit, frankly.
  5. 1:1? Jesus, that sounds rank.
  6. three is ballbags. True fax.
  7. Hotmail is a dumb word. It sounds juvenile (and quite rightly, it's aimed at juveniles) Gmail is...far less loaded. If anything, it's a fairly cold, bland word. It's far more functional, only evoking it's connection to the well accepted Google name with it's clean G prefix. That reads alarmingly like total bollocks, but it's not
  8. my average is about 640/1000 I play for fun. If an achievement is fun (stand up Halo 3, L4D) I'll make more of an effort to get them. If it's a grind, they can forget about it (fuck you, Mass Effect. Fuck you very much)
  9. He was a big player in the Messiah War story that leads up to the x-men leaving new york. In Bishop's future, a mutant girl is so powerful that she kills a million people. This is what puts Bishop as a boy, and the rest of mutant kind, in concentration camps. in the present day, the child is born (the first mutant birth since M-Day) and anti mutant terrorists kill every child in the town in an attempt to stop a new mutant generation. They're too late though and Cable has her in his care. turns out the baby 'messiah' is the same as the one from Bishop's time so, given the opportunity, he attempts to murder the child while she is in Cable's custody. after various fisticuffs, Cable takes the girl forward in time to save her, and Bishop follows. As fare as I know, Bishop is the big bad in the new Cable series.
  10. Yes. but what I really meant was in comparison to '[email protected]' or something.
  11. He's basically Bishop :P
  12. he was actually in Alpha Flight? I know he kills them because I've just read the New Avengers where he does it.
  13. Definitely buying Invincible. Shall be reading wolf man :p
  14. Forgettable, but kind of informative. I'd forgotten who Omega Man is, for one, and I had only the faintest clue as to the characters of Dagger, Cloak and so on. One to ingest and discard. Of course, I didn't pay for it so you may be influenced by your dogged persistence in buying gash comics :p
  15. There's better on the cross album, for one thing.
  16. God I can't even remember that. Shocking. You know, since then it's taken Fraction to get me back in to X-Men. That's damage done!
  17. ah but at the start (Vargas attacks!) they were after Destiny's diaries trying to discover some prophecy stuff about the fate of the world etc. and because the diaries mentioned Xavier and several other X-Men, they had to go underground, effectively on the run from their own people if need be. precognition is always good. That's a compelling story right there. Good job they totally fucking dropped it and replaced it with a motherfucking alien invasion. And yes. The Arena. Somebody should have been executed for that.
  18. come again?
  19. haha yes. He also presided over the only compelling bit of the book when it kicked off and actually had a really good premise.
  20. usually a company email or something formalish. I have '[email protected]', for example.
  21. Yeah, Land blows pretty hard. It's really worth reading though for Fraction's writing. For like...the polar opposite of The Land Effect you should totally read Invincible Iron Man. Salvador Larocca is on pencils and, by Jehovah, he's incredible. Even his X-Treme X-Men run pales in comparison. (for all it's considerable faults, there's no doubt it was a gorgeous run)
  22. you probably don't. depends on your taste for the macabre, one imagines.
  23. I don't get why you'd want to damage your ears like that. It seems monumentally stupid to me.
