I'm with James McG here folks. There is no timeline, there never will be one. The only reference that are made to the other games are far too vague to actually mean one in particular. It is a general formula that plays out using different themes and ideas. The only things that I could say are linked are LTTP and OOT.

Yeah les face it, people will likely prefer to make games for the 360 if they are that similar as I've heard that again Sony have made the hardest machine to program. PS2 lost a lot of its head start due to this too.

Bah, this is all meaningless tosh really. In the instance of the GCN the balanced hardware and fantastic architecture meant that it whooped both the PS2 and Xbox in efficiency and I am totally confident on Nintendo having better architecture again this time around. The simple fact that Matt kept on comparing the specs to the Xbox just tells you how badly the original Xbox was designed. I look forward to getting a system that I have as much fondness for as my GCN and my DC.

Its about having the game made for YOU, you see. Also it is a long ongoing stigma really, which is based on the fact that if you do things that children do you are childish. I think it stems from kids TV, as these shows are actually aimed at children. Therefore people think that any animated feature is a kiddy thing, thats why most people discounted Anime originally (a notion that makes me want to go a bit homocideal!). What really gets me though is why some people think that middle of the road games (genuinely for everyone games) are kiddy, like OOT! It just becomes about it not being adult rather than it being kiddy. Which is a bit dull in the head.

I just think HD is too expensive to justify buying it. I still don't get why people fork out so much for an iPod or something similiar... I know the technology is expensive to make but jesus! Thats a lot of money to be able to listen to music as you walk around... Guess there are cheaper MP3 players though.

At Mike-Zim: You never really state any reasoning for your loathing of Sony either so it makes you just as bad. Plus you are posting crap all over this forum and annoying just as many people. Most people like the fact that this is a fairly balanced forum in the fact that although it is Nintendo based you CAN appreciate other consoles and talk about that. Pah... i've said that I think that it would be around £400-499, I know thats very round about but it doesn't surprise me really. It's a stupid price and no I would not buy one. It's a joke that even second hand PS2s are still expensive enough. Only pay back is that PS2 games get recycled frquently in the 2nd hand bin so the games can be really cheap. But honestly over £400? Thats a hefty chunk of a grand! Don't forget you'll have to pay at least a grand for your HD tv too (and you'll probably get the Sony one too, you sucker). People are really ready to give up a lot aren't they just for a console? I could feed myself for over 4 months on that kinda money... Mike your fanboyism isn't exactly that much better... the only reason you get away with your blind statements is that this is a Nintendo based site.

Ahh I dunno, you guys are probably right. It's just that the talk around the Rev is very different to that of the DS. Nintendo were making their full attempts to grab people back then by constantly talking about the hardware and the possibilities. Now it just seems as though they can just say "innovation work well, look at the DS!" and that will make everything ok. To be honest though we don't know what he is saying to Devs in private. Pah, guess we'll just have to wait to see the games...

True that bit is good but he in no way does he actually addresses the fact that publishers see Nintendo as a niche marketeer. The only hope is that he can get the Devs excited enough to convinve the publishers.

I've actually read more than one developer discounting ports totally because of the controller though. Not hardware, just the controller. Nintendo need to make them aware that the shell exists, not to mention a few people on this forum as I remember

Is anyone else getting annoyed by the fact that lotsof developers are totally discounting the possibility of porting their games to the Rev solely due to the pad. Have these folk never heard of the controller shell?

You can't patent the concept itself just the technology used to make it with. The rumble used in the DualShock is quite different to the one used in GCN pad for instance. But as you can see in Sony's case they kinda ignore patents and copyright, just like most of their customers!

Microsoft don't have much to gain I think. The PSP is kind of a success but the handheld market is pretty much saturated now. The have probably forgot about the GBA2 by the sound of it.
