  1. I think a lot of people frequently think that other people are flirting when they are not. They are judging a situation with their own rules; only u know ur feelings and intentions. I get this frequently and it really annoys me. I've found out that i dont like that many ppl and so its just irritating that some ppl think that me just being nice is flirting. Its not flirting, im just practicing not being an arsehole which these ppl obviously think is abnormal behaviour.
  2. Hmmm, interesting you should snipe the word philosophical considering that it infers thinking before opening your trap. Spose i can't talk tho as i botched the title.
  3. Right. There's been a lot of discussion recently about the reasonning behind the Wii, it's direction and its market philosophy. It seems that lot's of people are confused as to whether Nintendo are catering for them anymore or whether the Wii-remote is all it was cracked up to be. So here is a clean space for your general Wii thoughts and discussions about the phenomenom know as Wii. I'd like to point out a few observations to start with: The whole reason that Nintendo created the Wii was to appeal to a broader audience. Therefore the console was designed with new or returning gamers in mind, as well as more conventional gamers. So, in my mind, if i extrapolate that concept and apply it to how things have panned out from the release, I see these consequences (or symptoms as some ppl may prefer :p ). Nintendo have always been their own work horse. It's been a long time since Nintendo had a console that wasn't, by majority, driven by it's own software. So now when it came to expanding their audience, the armada of dev teams had to spread themselves extremely thin to cater for these markets. Therefore it is natural for us more conventional gamers to feel a little left out because we are getting a reduced amount of attention by comparison. Think of us as an upset child who has just forceably had to accept a new little brother or sister into their lives. Mum and Dad get to spend less time with you but it doesnt mean they love you any less! In the long run it will be up to 3rd parties to make up the lack of attention we get (and not to mention bolster that given to the casual or new market). And this will take time. I think due to Nintendo's recent success with winning the trust back of many devs and publishers (more importantly) it is easy to get impatient in terms of waiting to reap the rewards of these ventures. We should all bare in mind that from a buisness agreement being made and a game being produced from that agreement can easily take a year and a half. And here's another reason to love your "little brother or sister". Their affections have sold so many Wiis that 3rd party are having to make games for the system now. Publishers (not devs) often decide which platform a game lands on and not producing games for the Wii now is just downright folly. -Another reason not to worry - The combination of market share and inexpensive development makes financial risk low and potential rewards high. Publishers couldnt ask for a better deal. Anyway, welcome to the thread!
  4. Thanks. I can understand why people find it difficult to understand how the Wii works. It has a whole new rule book and because it still caters to more conventional gamers as well, it can get confusing when Nintendo dont play to the standard form (not that they ever did do ). I was thinking of starting a thread on this subject soon. Problem is that ofen people don't run with the discussion. I'd like to see ppl like Caris and the people who don't like the Wii in on it plenty aswell because their views are just as valid. Hmmmm.... to the create thread button!
  5. Nice to see that the trend of criticising the successful members of the gaming industry never changes. Where's EWJ now eh Perry?! It's not gonna get onto VC with an attitude like that is it? Or do you recon that he's bitter cos he doesnt own the rights to it anymore so won't get any money out of it? Anyway... I think that many ppl here are criticising the Wii becuase they are failing again to remember that this console isnt entirely designed, marketed or developed for with us, as the type of gamers we are, in mind. So yeah, maybe the Wii controller seems like it maight wear off and yes a lot of that factor weighs on the devs. But what a lot of ppl here are missing is that to us the Wii-mote is a replacement, we get this instead of a conventional controller. However for a lot of people who own the platform this controller is their route in to gaming. Without it, they just would play at all. Its not about whether the controller makes the gaming more immersive its about making it easier and more accessible. This will not change. Back at you Mr. Defensive. I think he's atlking about the comments made by EA in the past week about the need to stop making recycle-ware and concentrating more on making fresh, new IP for the Wii. Chill out dude.
  6. That particular save point was the biggest gripe everyone had with the game. Oh yeah.... apart from the multiplayer!
  7. Oh god! I remember the horrendous pop-up on Body Harvest. Great game though.... wish i had it.
  8. Damn you! One of my favourite games of all time.
  9. Wow that only a corridor of like 15 months! :p
  10. Hey happy Bday to the both of yaz
  11. QFT Stop whining about it. Many of us here have job which earn us money. We have to pay for things which are often made more expensive by ppl like YOU not paying for them. And another thing. This thread is report worthy.
  12. I dont pay my TV license and i dont watch my TV! Simple! They try and give you flack about it but if you have "recieved or recorded broadcasted television" then they dont have anything on you. I even have a tv.
  13. Does anyone know a game which features a "beanstalk" castle? There have been loads of castles in the sky....unless, maybe Mallow is gonna be in this?
  14. Nope, thats a BAD IDEA. Anyone who actually cares about their idea would NEVER post it.
  15. Nor me. (Yeeees I saw it in the Empire in Leicester Square in all its digitally projected glory!) Was really good. Totally enjoyed myself but it was in NO WAY like the original. There was almost too much to put in the movie and it felt rushed in places so I hope they put in some of those missing nit in the next film. Strangely, the plot for the second one is not that obvious...
  16. Hmmm... tbh I dont see the PS3s future looking so good if Epic can't pull their finger out of their ass and get U3E working on the platform. Too many games are becoming time exclusives for the 360 because of it so I think they should be more worried about things in their own camp.
  17. I might get this to supliment my exercise. I notice that a lot of it revolves around held moves and a lot of core body exercise (for those who actually know what im talking about). The type of things i do dont have much of that in them so I'm quite game for this. But yeah I also agree with Fresh, whether it's worth buying is another matter. Also Dave mate, could you elaborate on what you mean by non-traditional gamer?
