Anyone else forgotten about Revolution?
knightendo replied to Hal_9Million's topic in Nintendo Gaming
took me only a few days to realise Wii is perfect for this console's name. like it's been said, it took us longer because we were used to the codename for so long (which yeh, sounds so wrong now!). all but one of the casual people that have come into GAME where i work and asked about the pictures on the counters haven't reacted immaturely. one guy called it the nintendo piss, but he also called the 360 the "three-shity" and said the ps3 was gonna walk over everything etc etc etc yaawwwnnnnn...... and he's been the only one to react badly to the name, but i think no matter what it was called he woulda done the same. anyone else has heard the name and been intrigued. they may not have placed interest (pre-pre-orders kinda thing) but i'm sure once the marketing starts we'll see a good reaction in general. nintendo have come up trumps with the name, we'll see that this christmas. -
personally, i think the world is in more danger with that man in charge. no joke.

with bebo you can choose from dozens of backgrounds, or create ur own, no need to be garish lol. like mine at http://knightendo.bebo.com, chose the background from the massive list, suits me personally plus i didn't want bright headache-inducing colours like a lot of my friends have :S and you can choose to lock down your site to just those people you wish to see it if you wish, personally tho i like to keep mine open. even then people are restricted to what they can do, and you can refuse or block anyone you wish. requested to add you by the way UZiT.

here here. america has had to sacrifice some freedoms already, and blair is following suit. to me, george michael's music bideo for "wag the dog" or whatever the song was called, was spot on! and yes bush is pally with the sauds, so it's all hush-hush that their people were involved. i hate bush's administration, i'll make no secret of that, they're money and power hungry, feeding their investors first and foremost, the rest of the world coming a distant second.
-
no no, i'm not saying they're in cahoots. i'm getting picked up all wrong here, i'm being picked up as a crazy loon lol! look recently here in the UK how the interception of those terrorists led to people panicing that their planes were gonna be attacked that day, all because of how the press reported it. the press hear a story and run with it, and word things to create much more exciting news than it really is, and drawing conclusions half the time. same here with the bin non-confession. i'm not saying there's a big conspiracy with bush (he's too thick for that lol jk) just that they aren't being 100% truthful. they DID take advantage of the situation afterwards which makes them untrustworthy in my book too, never mind the fact they're hiding stuff. we do know they are hiding the stuff they pulled off the air, and details about the attacks but i'm not saying they were involved!! nor am i saying that bin laden deserves to be left alone! he deserves to be hunted down and shot! but after years of not being able to find him, they shouldn't have gone looking for another target to make up for it (iraq) and lie about that too! come on, we all know it was for the oil, that much surely we can agree on!
-
ofcourse they do! europe's position has strengthened significantly since the launch of the DS, and i think NOE's position with the company has done so too. it's not fair to attack someone and his branch of the company simply because he can't tell you anything new. neither can NOJ or NOA!! it's nintendo as a whole's strategy, it's been working so far, just wait and see...
-
i think it's more to do with the fact that he's simply not allowed to say, and the "should be should be" is simply a way of answering the question positively without giving anything away. if he was to say he could lose his position within the company remember folks. the interview asked about the conference which lacked confidence... which one was this? surely not the one at the START of e3? as it goes on to ask about ninty's confidence SINCE then... i thot the e3 one was brillilant! very confident!

yeh but at the end of the day, people prefer what they prefer. just because there's more than one social networking site (there's a lot more than these two!!) doesn't mean we all have to go with myspace. it'd be like only watching casualty and never watching er ok, i know i know, it's a highly exaggerated point, but you get my drift lol. besides, i simply prefer bebo, much better, and all my friends are on it already. each to their own added all those beboers from above, be good to have a network going on within revo-europe beboers here's mine: http://knightendo.bebo.com (hard to guess wouldn't it be?! lol)

there are two threads right beside each other at the min... "the war on masterbation" and "something big is coming" ahem...

i'm not a mad conspirator, i just don't believe everything the US government tells us. especially over this. surely the very fact that they DID exploit it afterwards makes them corrupt???? and u'll notice that not once did bin laden say he was actually behind those attacks. in those videos he praises those involved, says they are blessed by allah, and that the towers were righteous targets etc. the US and British press surround his quotes with things like "Bin Laden admits responsibility by saying" etc., but he doesn't actually say it. he supports it. and yes he is an evil terrorist who should be destroyed but the press bend his words to make us believe he did it, and we play into Bush's hands. if all but a few of the terrorists were saudi arabian why was this hidden? it can not be a coincidence.

yeh Wii is certainly garnering a lot more 3rd party support than the cube, and (probably more importantly) a lot of very INTERESTED 3rd parties rather than just the usual name-checks when i console is about to be released. to answer the original question (even though it seems highly unlikely GTA will ever become an exclusive to any format again) you'd probably find they wouldn't care which platform it was on. they'd see the usual combination of violence, swearing, graphics, and wouldn't really care (the majority i have to say, but not all) about what new gameplay elements and all there'd be, so most would probably blindly follow it anywhere.

longest i've ever gone was six days when i was 24! hell on earth! i was doing one of those medical thingies to make a bit of cash when i was a student (which annoyed my christian year lecturer enough let me tell you!) and because i was locked away in a dorm with a bunch of other grown guys and girls there was no privacy whatsoever. i was seeing a girl at the time, but when i got out did i wait till i saw her? helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll no!!
-
you'll noticed he never accepted the blame. i'm not trying to pin this on the government, i'm not believing any old conspiracies, i just have my doubts surrounding the bush administration's handling of it afterwards and the real culprits. i don't believe it was bin laden, but i'm not saying it was bush. just that either the government knew who it was but if it came to light it would cause hysteria, or more likely that the US government weren't sure at the time who it was and needed a scapegoat for the people. and blaming bin laden was handy, just like the whole weapons of mass destruction thing.

ngamer is brand new, so ofcourse it is going to have a general round-up of the last few month's news, but i too feel they are being harsh for the sake of being harsh, rather than just being honest. i think they are trying too hard to differentiate themselves from ONM. instead, they feel more like Gamesmaster, a lot of info squeezed into too small a space. that said, it was still enjoyable but i found the most enjoyable bits being the random stuff near the end, so that's kinda worrying for its furure. ONM still rules! i love its design, its subtle humour and its more mature outlook on the world of nintendo. and it seems to have a nice personal "feel" in its writing with regards to its staff (like in the recent Wii feature), although maybe that's more to do with the fact that they're more relaxed now with each other, and ngamer is still in its early days. we're always gonna get most of the news first online, but it can be covered more in-depth with a magazine that can have access to places and people the net sites can't, and then there's big exclusives too. ONM site is rubbish tho. if its forums were run by the magazine staff it would be cool, but that is unfortunately impossible due to the obvious amount of work they have to do already. however, they've given mod status to a bunch of p****s and so the forums are absolute rubbish. i've tried giving them time but they still suck. to me, personally, revo-europe and ONM the magazine perfectly complement each other.

that's ur personal opinion. we may never know the truth, butthere are too many questions regarding 9/11 that the american government just won't answer, why? (rhetorical, i'm not expecting anyone to actually know) why did a building next door fall first and why was the footage of this taken from Fox and attempted to be kept secret? same as the interview footage of the firemen who heard bombs going off inside the buildings, and who stated categorically that the buildings would not have collapsed from those planes the way they did. what was underneath should have remained upright, and the way the floors went "pop-pop-pop" all the way down was impossible without internal bombs. also, there was close-up footage of the first plane that identified the plane as having no windows along its side and a large red target on the front. why were all these reels taken by the US governement?? i'm not saying this is proof, and i'm not saying this is all there is to go on, not by a long shot. all i'm saying is that i have severe doubts about bin laden's involvement and the US government's actions afterwards. it may have been laden, it may not. i'm not saying i 100% believe it wasn't, i'm always ready to be proved wrong, just that if you read enough and watch enough about it (reputable sources, not mad rants and ravings), you can start to have doubts. i always believed it was bin laden until the iraq war, when bush really showed himself (to me anyway) as a liar and a cheat. then i began to read up... i'm not saying he was directly involved, all i'm saying is that i believe his government are covering up the real culprits for whatever reason, and used bin laden as a handy excuse to plunder afghanistan. each to their own opinion...

for heaven's sake it's NOT a screw up!! a magazine is finished a week or two before it is on sale!! at the time of writing they probably were not informed about the german show! we only knew about it after they had probably sent the issue to the printers. i hate the way some people here trounce the magazines because their news is "slow". that's the print trade folks! how can you expect them to print about it before nintendo released the news?? besides, if you read certain phrases in the issue, they are dropping hints about something that could be this show but they are obviously bound by NDA's!! leave off them, they are doing a sterling job at their in-dpeth news stories direct from nintendo and the developers. we may hear about ceratin stories first online but you can be assured the ONM articles will be more in-depth, that's the way of the world.

i know at end of the day it's all down to personal opinion because we'll never know the truth, but i just think it's absurd to believe the american governemt so readily. no i don't think bin laden had anything to do with it. there's too much convenience to be had in invading afghanistan and blaming him just fitted in too nicely (same with iraq). i'm not necessarily saying bush is directly involved, but it wouldn't surprise me from what i've read. also, ten out of the total terrorists on those planes were apparently from saudi arabia, why was that kept quiet? america's connections there perhaps? why, when no americans were allowed to fly post 9/11, were members of the bin laden family flown out of the country to safety? perhaps because of america's connections there too? and there are plenty. and bush IS pushing forward some absurd anti-terror legislation, like the one (can't remember the name but the book that i read it in is at a friend's annoyingly) where the FBI can raid your house while you're not even there and leave it without even giving reason. and isn't britain trying to push forward some type of jail-without-trial law when it comes to anti-terrorism? bush is power-hungry, his whole family is... oprah for president lol!

i'd never played any of these games until AWL, and i have to say i loved it! was so relaxing and took over my life for a few months until AC arrived on the cube. in AWL, every 22 minutes equated to a full day (but longer if you didn't sleep your character) in the game did it not from what i can remember, so i don't think that's too slow for a home console version. i can understand a handheld moving faster but i liked the pace. the second one of the GC games doesn't appeal, looks like a step backwards if you ask me, but this one looks great! the wii is shaping up as a real power horse compared to what they made it out to be!

that's what bush and blair are good at. scare-mongering. because while everyone is frightened about people from other cultures our governments can do just about whatever they want and "justify" it by saying they were doing it in the war on terror, which has "new rules because there's never been a war like this before". and you're right, there will be no fair trial, i'd wager there won't even be a trial. ever seen The Siege"...?

where have i seen her before? what's she been in? -
pork pies rule lol love them either cold outta the fridge, or warmed up in the micro, then lift off their tops, throw on a lil' potato salad and close them up again and eat with your hands. can't beat that now

people still believe it was bin laden...?! and BGS, all this "war on terror" is just a way for our government and the US government to arrest who they want when they want, and they don't have to have a reason, or give a fair trial. and our press jumps on this. basically, you're right, they aren't necessarily guilty, but as far as the goverment and the press are concerned it's guilty until proven... well, guilty! (cause let's face it no one in this "war" is ever gonna be "proven" innocent!) and shorty, since no one else is saying so, i understood you when you said it the first time mate

haven't eaten lunch yet, only just crawled outta my scratcher to be honest (trouble sleeping recently), but i have to say the nicest lunch i've had recently was a boots meal deal! it was their turkey and stuffing with pepper mayonaise sandwich on wholemeal, was gorgeous!! such a nice surprise since i was nearly for going to kfc that day not to mention the chocolate cake and the vanilla and honey smoothie... hmmmm..... sometimes pays to experiment i suppose

well i think bringing in record figures of around 10m every week proves he's bringing in new fans somehow... doctor who is excellent. i only ever liked the last coupla years of him when i was younger in the 80's, and the movie was terrible!! russel davies has done an excellent job though and i love the new show!
