I have this sitting on my shelf still untouched it came free when I bought uncharted off ebay and even though it looks awesome my shooter fatigue means I have never been tempted to start it.

Really tempted to get Pikmin when I get paid next week is only £22 in asda...

I think this is the most casual game I have. Whilst I would love to be able to make awesome levels I have long since given up any hope of actually being good at doing it and instead just prefer to pop on every so often play some user created levels and have the odd game online.

oh well won't be picking this up anymore...nevermind...will stick with megadrive collection on PSP and the Sonic Collection on cube.

Day one purchase for me...

Where'd you hear that from? Just wondered cos i'm a subscriber and not recieved my copy yet... I don't get the EDGE bashing on here. I don't think they are anywhere near as spot on as they once were with reviews. I think this is for a number of reasons. I still think though their scores are up there amongest the scores that people wait for with baited breath. tbh as well if they gave it a 7 that is still a good score for a game in a very overcrowded genre.

I prefer it high though...anyway just had a quick run through of it, with the sensitivity up to the next to top notch, top is too fast... first thing I did when I got home and found it easier this time round with standard controls. I think one problem I had before was how I was using the cover system. You either have a choice of how to come out of cover, push the left stick up or fire and that brings you out, when pressing the left stick forward I get too confused and end up pressing the wrong stick in to aim, but if I just fire whilst I may waste a few bullets unzoomed at least I get there. I dunno it does control different to shooters but when your getting there and its working it feels great.... I really love how visceral the game is and think it is one of the best what I would call finesse shooters out there. When I say finesse I mean the way the gunplay plays out, a real art to it and real sense of skilled soldiers fighting it out against one another. its not just like you a walking turret. One thing I also really love for some reason is the way the character jumps over objects, seems like its half way between the usual floaty jump of FPS and the more fully realised Mirror's Edge.

I'm gonna play again and do that cos kinda dismissed them. I had the sensitivity turned up quite high but gonna go higher for next run through...

My tips on weighlifting don't bother....although I would say that I am still suffering from shoulder pains since I tore the muscle across my collar bone months ago...although physio should be sorting that out soon. It takes me an hour to walk to work, so that twice a day is enough exercise for me. Although doesn't help with stomach toning.

yeah thats what I found...any chance the controls will change before the final version? Personally don't think there is was listening to Rebel FM earlier and they said that they had played the final green disk review versions and they commented on how the controls take getting used to and that it doesn't feel like any other FPS but once you nail the controls it is great.

Yeah can see myself playing through the campaign a couple of times. Also love how you can go into each mission and pick specific parts....
-
So which control setup you using? Yeah one main and the pistol is abit annoying, would prefer halo's system of just 2 outright.
-
Yeah the standard set up will perhaps be best for multiplayer owing to the lack of cover mechanic, but for single player don't like it. Gonna play it again when I get home from work.
-
Get it for that price...for a 4 month subscription that is a great price.

It did and it didn't. They put it up but it was the demo by mistake so people buying it actually paid for the demo (which should have been refunded) its not gone back up since? Is Lumines really that great? It seems the sort of game I might prefer to play on PSP... Anyone played the 3 on 3 NHL demo, its simple and easy but hell its a ton of fun, at only 6.29 I am thinking of paying for the full version.

Played it again really wish they let you alter the controls...There doesn't seem to be a set up that is spot on each has its problems.
-
I tried alternate 2 and found that worked quite well only problem with it is whilst being in cover you have to hold the triggers in quite an awkward manner to pop up and shoot.
-
Yeah same here with the cover system it works amazingly well but you need to get used to it as its a bit different to a lot of other FPS. One thing that did annoy me about the cover system was if you zoomed in and then have to reload it goes back to the default view I'd prefer it to stay zoomed in. Agreed that is my biggest bug bear about the controls. Got my good old jabra headset that most of the time works just fine, until it breaks or stops working gonna hold of getting the official headset. I think I will have to try out all the different controls as I didn't think much of the default setting. Also like you suggested will defo have to speed up the axis controls the turning and aiming speeds were way to slow. Same here lol...was well confused.

I am up to 125th as of last night...just happy to be in the top half so for me anything above 450th is a bonus.

my steam user name is flameboyne

I still hate the fact you have to pretty much empty a clip with some weapons to kill them in this game. Like hearing that Killzone 2 is different.
-
Yes I was going to come on here and post about it. Loved it amazing....

I'm a steam user...mostly for casual stuff though. Team Fortress 2 is actually quite cheap on steam and can you run it? says I can play it on my Samsung NC10 bit surprised to be honest not sure how playable it will be though, might need a proper keyboard and mouse or a controller.
