Havn't played MGO for ages....is it worth getting back into?

I love it am hooked...if I was you get signed up ASAP the servers are filling up thick and fast and a lot of the leagues start this week. You can download the client off the site and subscribe that way but also can use the code out a boxed copy to extend an already open account. It is really good. It is very different to your conventional FM game. Like I said it has some very MMO overtures to it. You have to pick skills to learn and acquire and these take time and improve your options as a manager. At first the tactical changes you can make are limited in some ways as to acquire them, almost like leveling up. You also have to pick a different classes like you would in an RPG, depending on what kind of manager you pick affects the kind of skills you start with and how quickly you can acquire others. So for example being a track suit manager makes it quicker to get the coaching skills. Being a blackboard manager makes it easier to get tactics skills. It adds yet another element to it. The transfer system is a bit confusing at first as there are two systems of selling players. Putting them up for auction and simply transfer listing them. There are a few new rules that have just been implemented to stop players from profiteering and selling players for ridiculous prices. For example if you buy a player in an auction and sell him the same day you will pay 100% tax on the deal and make no profit however the % will drop everyday up to 7 days where the player will be yours. It's because in the beta players were fleecing each other and it was making the game economy unstable. New players are unlocked everyday, so the world super stars are not out there yet to buy, not that people could afford them. It helps make it slightly fairer for new players. When you join a gameworld you need to make a squad of 18 players. When you enter a game X number of players are added to the game so there is a good mixture of the good and the bad for you to sign. The greatest aspect about it all is the sense of community. There are plenty of friendly competitions going and loads of banter between people and also plenty of really helpful people who are out there to help you. Join and try and get in the same server as me if there are still spaces.

I'll be on multiplayer. It's out on a friday right? Have to hope it arrives the day before otherwise I won't get chance to play until Sunday.

You don't really need to though do you? unless you wanna collect it to sell it once you can carry it easier.

Isn't that kinda what Rachet has become now though? I havn't played Tools of Destruction but played Size Matters and that felt very much combat orientated.

I've said it before perhaps even in this thread but Sonic 3 with Sonic and Knuckles was without a doubt the defining single player experience of my youth. I still rank it up there in my top 5 games...

cant actually load the game up...not tried compatibility

Playing on a samsung nc10 netbook with my resolution set to 1024x600 (which is the maximum) when I try to load up FML it says error unable to load as resolution needs to be 1024x768 or whatever it is I know people who have it on netbooks how the hell do I get it to work? Found how to change resolution higher through unhidding settings. But then that obviously screws up everything else...is there no way to get a specific .exe to run at heightened resolution? I tried a programme called powerstrip but that only lets change resolution for everything, I want it so when I run football manager live it runs at the higher res but then when I switch apps to say the net it stays back at the default. otherwise have to scroll down for start button for example,

The boxed version of this is finally out. I got an email offering me half price subscription for being on the beta so I decided to go for it. Is anyone else getting it? I have FM Handheld and fancied a change from FM PC so decided to go for this MMO/RPG take on the football management genre. Downloading it is so easy, get the client subscribe and away you go, just trawling through the player database trying to build a half decent squad. If anyone joins I am in gameworld Greaves....

Just downloading the demo now, although doubt it will do anything to change my mind that all my gaming time should be going into Killzone 2.

See I don't see it as the currency being dead just in need of a very big revival! The problem with being the Euro is your choices about what you can do to help you economy are very much tied with the rest of the EU and limits how much you can manage things. This of course falls down if the euro gets stronger and the pound flounders, but I have little doubt the euro will soon drop we are seeing a domino effect across the world.

Glad to read Jav's very positive comments. It doesn't surprise me that it perhaps have cover issues as very few games get it truly spot on. Resistance 2 could have done with a cover system I reckon

Tried that didn't work. Did a System Restore and it worked. It did also say the Ipod was damaged so had to repair and fix it. But its sorted now so can leave my step mum to listening to it.

Unknown Device.... It just seems odd as it was working a few days back I am trying a system restore to the last saved point.

As good as Resistance 2 is there is little doubt in my mind that Killzone 2 will be the definitive PS3 shooter. I havn't played it but from the footage and previews knocking about it is plain to see it is on another level.

Stepmums ipod has worked fine for god knows how long now whenever I plug it into the computer to sync it, windows says USB device not recognized! wtf! plugged it into my laptop to see if I could get it to work and it says its fine, but obviously need it to work on home computer so she can use her library. Also looked at this; http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 tried all that and clicking to update drivers but it says they are all in working order so what can be wrong?

I hope liverpool-everton ends 0-0 doing wonders for my fantasy football team with jagielka and carragher in my defense.
