Miserable run of late. Praying to stay in the middle league but I've been sloppy with tactics far too often. Development is a problem as always but I may just focus on that for now :/

Recently finished Between a Rock and a Hard Place [127 Hours], after dragging myself through the film. The book goes into further detail about Aron's previous outdoors experiences, from white-water rapids to rock climbing 14,000 feet mountains solo during winter. He covers a lot of his previous 'near misses', and also towards the end of the book it stitches together some a posteriori detail about how his friends and family got some sort of rescue effort together. It was interesting enough to see how the movie dropped elements and combined others in favour of flow or narrative, but I was generally put off by Aron's "I learned from this experience that it is who you are, now what you do, that defines you, and it's about friends and family, not bragging about cool shit" moral of the story, which kinda countered his bragging about his outdoorsman lifestyle, excellent piano skills, job credentials... which is in a way fair enough to the guy for being awesome - but what bothered me most was how his efforts to write in third person about how his friends, colleagues and family went about noticing his absence was still remarkably self-centered. But hey - props to the guy. An inspiring story altogether. The book's epilogue grounds the whole thing into reality a bit more, and also gives away something that I either didn't notice from the movie, or wasn't in it at all;

I've already failed at doing anything on my list of Things To Do today. Miserably so.

What's the new role, rummy? I was given a mirror-type role on night 3, reverting anyone's power straight back at them, if they targetted me - OR become untargettable and track for a night. Used the 'defensive' power on night 4, where a switcher tried to mess with my room number, instead I knocked them upside the head and they went off to switch their OWN room number... but were redirected (presumably by jonnas) to another door altogether. Last night I failed to send in a PM. Just wondering if roles are getting switched entirely here.

There will be protectors in the game, so a detective should feel safe to reveal anything they have. The mnml essence means that we won't have target switchers, so protection should go down easily enough.

This middle league is really baffling me. Played a hybrid mental formation due to basically having only two midfielders available. Completely neutered Dyson's side, buuut unfortunately his only chance of the match ended up being a penalty, which he scored, thus 1-1. Still, coming from an away game with a point is a result, especially against Dyson - regardless of how lame he's gotten recently :P

My new power. I used what I call 'mirror mode' -- whoever targets me ends up targetting themselves. I thumped someone upside the head. They went on to be manipulated into switching some doors around so I don't know what the thumping was supposed to be. It does seem that someone else's power is to target someone to switch two doors around.

Done 'the impossible' by preparing for Oz at my own pace and getting shit done, despite lots of people shaking heads and tutting and generally not believing in me. I am finding that I am increasingly bothered by the amount, or lack, of faith that people have in me. It's merely reinforcing the whole "have low expectations and you'll exceed often" element of my psyche. Oh. Yeah. 'Good Stuff Thread.' Well, I suppose it's good that I've done packing, cleaning, delivering, preparing. Done with goodbyes. Going to be on a plane somewhere when it gets to this time tomorrow. I think there's an element of 'saving face' in not ganging up on Will, and instead letting Eddie have her say and allow him to clarify to her rather than have to feed the pressgang pack. I don't think the roosevelt quote is apt here. It is instead the rest of you who are criticising him, a man who has 'dirtied his face' and actually experienced the issue first hand, thus he is at the least a more reliable source of information on the matter. I do think it's not the most logical stance that he has taken, but I do not agree that it is an opinion that needs to be beaten into the ground simply because it is deemed unromantic in comparison to what others project or perceive.

The phrase "a bird in the hand is worth two in teh bush" is utterly apt here! I've voted for your mafia boy, I've openly said what my targets have been since the start of the game and I've vaguely pointed you towards the direction of any answers for your questions. Can do no more. You're better off lynching mr-paul now, then further investigating jonnas.

mr-paul you're confirming that you bound/gagged me and locked me in? Totes potentially true. But for me it's either mr-paul or jonnas today. Anyone else want to chip in? @dannyboy this is a mafia game with all sorts of madness going. I suggest you refresh your memory where I cannot.

Or perhaps another explanation that I offered at some point. also, to re-iterate, jonnas is definitely someone I'd love to vote for.

Just started SG-1 the other week - about 14 episodes in. I have to be honest, largely I've got it playing in the background while my attention is elsewhere, switching back when it seems a bit more interesting. I understand that SG-1 is one of those shows you have to watch the first few dross seasons in order to better benefit from the show when it gets gooood. Question is; when does it get goooood?

To clarify, I was afi (away from internet) for the majority of weds - NAOW. I was a target switcher i.e. anyone targetting x instead targets y, and vice-versa. Switched diageo and rez night 1, myself and jonnas night 2 and myself with mr-paul last night. Last night I was role-swapped (no langer a switcher), bound and locked in my room and boosted (which never happened due to lock-in). My PM suggests that I didn't switch targets last night, suggesting I was still in my office, about to leave, when Shit Happened. Some of you will know immediately whether I did switch (i.e. if you're the booster and you aimed for me and got me, then you know I didn't switch successfully! Vote: mr-paul. One of three I worry for. Well done yvonne for leaving the cryptic clue.

Back from a trip to sheff, lots of gooood tiemz - me and shorty being several shades of fantastic on MW3 spec op missions (troopers, go check your top score leaderboards and bow down before our first successes on vet mode). Just... yeah. Not bothered to write-up full-on report, but essentially I had a good few days seeing old friends. Dan Dare sucks at catan. Listen not to his lies. :P
