Blair Witch Project Aaah! :P Home alone in the dark... The ending still gets me. I mean, I know it's all fake but the fact that the directors fucked about with the actors through the film makes it believable. It made something like a 1,000,000% return (ok my math sounds wrong here.. every dollar invested they got 10,000 back. one dollar back is 100%, 10 is 1,000%, 100 is 10,000%... I think it works out), and I consider it a classic in horror :P 7.7/10

I don't think all americans are like that.. I mean imagine Jade Goodie answering that question? She wouldn't know.
-
Ok, well I'm being pretty speedy with the parts but fuck it :P Here's the last part I've written, it's a lot shorter, and a lot more dialogue.
-
.. ok yeah that's a lot of money... Damn. America better be worth it.

I mean that you've tagged each category with colour/size/bold tags individually, when you could've just had the tags open at the start of the list, then close at the end. Quote your first post and you'll see what i mean.

Just a note; your tagging of each category individually mates it a right effort to strip them off and post a reply... Zell; sign up anyway. The game will still be on after then.
-
go on, DOUBLE BLUFF! Dare yaaa...

I was just about to suggest teh same thing :P Maybe a personal title? I mean he's the reason at least a dozen people come to this site regularly - I certainly know these threads are a massive reason for signing on each day. Big C, you too cool.

yeah it does feel like that. Only You Can Save Mankind is part of the 'Johnny' trilogy by Terry Pratchett, and Snow Crash is by Neil Stephenson, i think. OYCSM is about Johnny getting sucked into the game world be cause he's so good at it. Haven't read it in years but it;s the same sort of teenage-adventure type thing. Snow Crash is about how the virtual world's really taken off, with 'avatars' existing in a massive environment - plot revolves around an in-game virus crossing into the real world. Both good reads

ok, I'm in.

Well then... bring the Sign-Up thread! -
ok, that's cool I also liked in the second chapter how the character looked at the door, tv and games console. Made me think he must've been dreaming of a game. Ever read Only You Can Save Mankind? or even Snow Crash? books involving an immersion into a game world are always interesting, so good stuff.

ok, i wasn't too keen on the idea to begin with... i mean being anything might mean that there'll be a whole bunch of characaters running around that I won't understand... Also is there not a danger of characters being a bit 'see-thru'... Like, everyone's going to pick their favourite character? But hey, it's the mafia thread. It'll rock, whatever :P -

Oh, i knew his role, but I didn't know what his goal was. As the Football Manager, me and my team would have won once we had outnumbered the evil in teh town. I was killed because I had acquired 4 (or was it 5?) people to my squad and had leads on two others... Would've been easy :P Plus I'd already been killed in this game, and I have to say kudos to cube for bringing me back to life too! So much potential in this game. -

lol :P Woo it's over! I like to think that I had a large influence on the game, despite my death -- sorry, my dismissal because i was going to win. I thought that haggis and strider were evil and i was going NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo you guys are crazy! whenever you lynched the goodies... But hey, that game certainly was interesting. I'll win one of these games. Well done again Chairdriver! -
Intriguing! So this typical school kid is some sort of warrior at night times? New kid, too? Nice. Alright. Although it was in different chapters, you used "swallowed hard " twice. The way you described the kid at school I could really visualise - kind of imagine him scanning the playground with his eyes. Your main character had to pluck up all his courage to open his eyes, but surely he wouldn't be sent off to kill the Big Bad if he's a wuss? Also, the beginning of the first chapter made me think it was going to be a comedy... "your mission, should you choose to accept it".. :| And I think you shouldn't have the king personally hand him the portrait. your hero sounds as if he doesn't really like the king, so make him arrogant - clicks his fingers and a guard hands it over? I look forward to seeing more! I want to see if my theories are correct or not! Are they the same person? is the realistic kid awakening some sort of psychic, inter-dimensional link with the other guy? oooh..

Yeah i've been getting very mixed responses about the little italy. Most people haven't noticed the cheeky "nobody goes to chinatown"... I think I'll leave it as Little Italy and try and work it into a nice, slightly clichéd mobster-esque place... And yes, the next two parts will be mostly dialogue. I see what you mean. Thing is i want to say that basically, you didn't know that most people weren't trustworthy, i want to get the sense of scale in there... maybe "you thought you could trust everyone" instead of all the negatives. And yeah, Little Italy will need to be shady... Chinatown was going to be the most mysterious place, and there's going to be strange goings on in the Old Village too... But I have a few ideas for Little Italy. At the moment the more I write the more scenarios keep popping into my head that I want to write about... Haven't written this quickly in ages.

I rediscovered irony today. Like an apple, infected with blades. I tried not to choke to hard because i didn't want to wake the others - but i swallowed as hard as I could, and spat the blood into the plant pots and hoped nobody noticed.. I mean.. er.. This tutor at uni was all "omg DON'T USE CLIFF NOTES!" and i just googled her name and she wrote one on romeo and juliet. That is all.
