  1. that's probably true, but still it's refreshing to hear of other sides to you.
  2. wait-- Rokhed you feeling ok? Because that's the first post that I've seen in a few months where you haven't referred to your sex life. Much more interesting.
  3. I love your life. Everything is all SHINY and OMG WTF and shit. Mine is mundane as fuck. Today I raced CARS off a CLIFF. In my MIND. It was UNHOLY. I hate ESSAYS.
  4. roffles :P I was going to label it greenblackblackbrowngreybluegrayblackgreenblackbrownbrownwhitegreyblackbrowngreenblackbrowngreengreygreygreenblackblack... .. But instead I was too busy having WAR OF FURY with Mundi *tenses muscles*
  5. I'll sign up/join the group. Forgive me if I suck :P EDIT: Reminds me a bit of isle-wars.. not surprising seeing as isle wars is based to some degree on risk. Now to find the facebook app! EDITAGAIN: this is the right app, right?
  6. It's complicated to explain; if you read my previous 2q34 posts on the matter, you'll see a) The scoreboard in the first post was up to round six, but also included supergrunch's point for creating round seven before the round was over. b) Supergrunch posted his updated version of six[/b] scoreboard to include those who won points in round seven. c) Tom's round six scoreboard did not include the points the previous five round creators had earned for doing the questions. d) Thus we had one scoreboard not including quizmaker points, and the other not including round six[/i] points. In both counts I myself was missing a point. e) So I fixed it. It's stupidly complicated, but there you go. If you still have doubts then you can find links to each round's questions (and consequencely the answers and winners) to count for yourself. There are still two questions left! Let's get some more answers in before it's too late 8.) In the series expansion (1+aX)(4-X)^(-1/2), the co-efficient of x^3 is -67/2048. Find the value of the constant a, and show me your working! (2 Points) 10.) Name me everything in this pic!
  7. that's pretty cool thirtynine. You got an account? I've bookmarked it, will make a muxtape after me essay
  8. hhappy burthday to one of the longest surviving signatures, too.
  9. Killthenet and mundi; if you actually read the first post you'd notice the scoring doesn't include Fish's round, as it is not over. Shorty is the man with the common sense; yes! You are lagging a point *corrects* This round still has two questions up for graps guys.
  10. whee another win Sure, only 1-0 against the team bottom of the league... Going to miss my player-of-last-season through bookings, too... But it's a start.
  11. I wish to heck I knew one of the other answers, but I dont. Son instead here's teh correct and up-to-date scores so far. Yes, I rock. For a while, anyway.
  12. Gaggle; get your punk ass in the creative gallery and show off a bit. Stuck for inspiration or flow? Something that might help is to remember a short scene from a movie or TV show and just re-write it -- like the gimp scene in pulp fiction, or whatever... Just an idea. NO HATEZ!
  13. I lieks alexisonfire but they're not metal. I remember playing "No Transitory" to a metalhead mate and he was all like "hey this is a'ight..." then the dude sings "so this is what they call... un-der the weath-Errr" and my buddy's all *hands over eyes, sighing* :P Dude, Alexis~ is just screamo. Senses Fail, Silverstein, Eighteen Visions should all be your thing. The Used too (first album only or die) and, of course, mewithoutYou. I'm sure I've said this before - anyone here heard of Flight of the Jesus Dog? It's far from screamo, I assure thee.
  14. Spent two hours napping instead, though :/ Had some horrible, horrible dreams - one involved me getting a retinal detachment in my other eye and forever feeling like I was looking througha melted diamond. Really not nice. My mum developed that recently, she gets the occasional squint on for a while. Doc'll give you a prescription for some refreshing eyedrops-- aaah *WHIPCRACK* Stop being a doctor, james! back to work! READ READ READ!
  15. Eenuh; if you're doing a lot of drawing perhaps try and track down some padding/cushion protection like this to try and reduce the pressure/rubbing. My old shoes made some weird calluses arise on the joint on the tip of my big toes. DIdn't hurt, was just weird. New shoes that fitted better did the trick. SO yeah - you're going to be exposing your finger to that sort of experience a lot, you need to protect it and perhaps look a little silly while doing so Once when I was younger I cut my hand open and a small stone got stuck in it (or at least my 5-year-old memory tells me), and now in that same spot I've got this weird callus on the palm of my hand. I'm pretty used to it but I can imagine it looks weird.. PIX LATAR! Er, yeah Read 10 pages! Miles behind schedule!
  16. Operation Thursday: Read Heart of Darkness and The Moonstone by 9pm. Only 648 pages. Theoretically it should be manageable with a bit of page-skimming... but I need to take notes, too, so I imagine I'll get 1/3rd through Moonstone before 9. FINGERS CROSSED PLZ. Lend me your time!
  17. is it true that you can put euro notes through the wash?
  18. That's what I saw on wiki somewhere, but how is that defined? by literally there being more notes/coins of one currency, or more people in the world using them, or simply just demand/supply? As I know the numeric face value isn't what you go by. http://www.x-rates.com/
  19. Ah, sorry all I was trying to point out was that Warandchaos saying that we already have AI that does that, when we don't. Sort of on topic... I have a friend who studies cybernetics and artificial intelligence, and he believes we'll integrate technology into ourselves before the machines ever have a chance to rise...
  20. there's a difference between "learn" and "discover". AI doesn't learn any more than what you programme it to, right?
  21. Aha! It was black wednesday, not monday... Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Wednesday Interestingly the UK has since done better than the EU countries, averaging a growth of 2.7% each year compared to EU average of 2% and germany average of 1.3%, and some economists dub the day "white wednesday" I think my economics teacher interpreted Germany's interest rate fixing as the reason we phailed. 10 months down the line the limits were altered to an extent where Britain wouldn't've had to leave but still refused to join up again.
  22. ok found a cite for the situation, but not for the blame It's all to do with those 5 stages of integration to become a monetary union... Source: http://ec.europa.eu/ireland/general_information/ireland_eu/eu/index_en.htm Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Monetary_System .. unfortunately none of what I've found mentions anything about the germany-crazy moment. I will have to blame emotional bias of my tutor at the time for the gap between truth and LIEZ. I will keep looking for a more detailed overview
  23. Sorry, I don't have a citation. Wiki told me that Black Monday (or, one of them) was in 1987 which conflicts with my memory of what my economics teacher told me at A2. Vague summary; I think there were 9 countries in europe attempting to align fiscal policies; exchange rate being one of the main ones, along with inflation and such. They had agreed on keping their figures within a higher and lower boundary, and each few months/year they tightened the boundary. IIRC the date they originally planned on doing whatever it was they were doing someone objected (they all had to agree) to the next stage commencing, and that put the countries out of whack a bit as they hadn't really planned farther. Then something else happened, germany panicked and started selling their foreign currency stock in order to keep their own afloat, which was interpreted as a "fuck you" and all the other countries panicked. As I say; I have no citation, nor do I know precisely what I am on about :P Apologies while I keep searching!
  24. Tis true; but with the expansion of the EU, eventually those countries will attempt to align their fiscal policies to be considered eligible for the Euro - and then the lack of currency exchanging will mean more demand for the Euro from our own country, let alone others importing from the eastern bloc. You can blame Germany for us not being in the euro, circa 92 (i think) they fucked us all over with "black monday" (i think, again. It's been 2 years since I was taught about it).
  25. I'd say the new shapes of the £20 note and the recent pound coins with bridges on were subtle ways of aligning with the euro-feel. We were supposed to have a referendum on the topic "in the next 4 years" two years ago, but Blair left and now Brown says he's having none of it. Considering this is the first time in 40 years we've changed the look of our currency to such a scale, it might be a while. That website was interesting; the 1/2 penny coin was only removed in 1984. *hums to himself over such trinkets of info*
