  1. They all get free bus passes. A moot point :P
  2. NOOO MCJ BEAT MEEEEEEEEEEE
  3. DUDE! I am both angry at you for not demanding they call me in, but also ecstatic that my dream job exists! I must tell my job centre...
  4. I'll do it Side-query; wondering if there's any plan for a vb4 upgrade. They have some nifty hacks for it that'd help future awards, like you can 'thank' an entire thread which would make the 'best thread oty' award better, simply because people forget good threads from earlier in the year. I've always thought a monthly round-up would be nice too, but again 3.8 doesn't have the mods to do it. Anyway, I am the least busy person here! Me!
  5. They see me rollin' (40) Username in condensation in reverse (10) Snowangel (20)
  6. Dyson; MAKE IT SO! Shorty; SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS. Your birfdai/xmarse can be sorted with this game? :P
  7. Smeagol; I've noticed that you play very differently whether you're mafia or town. If you're town you heavily evaluate teh write-ups -- which is a great help to the town in general, but as mafia obv. your hands are kinda tied, so you show up a bit easier!
  8. Not heard of it. What's natto?
  9. I guess the argument is that the money is better spent on food and such. But actually if you're homeless you're very rarely starving. There are many established "soup kitchens" to provide that service. Water, again, is free, so the only other expendatures are shelter, and veblen goods; such a lifestyle removes transport and electricity, and leaves drugs - something to help pass the time, to help ease the stress of teh day. I'm fine with fuelling their booze -- but, tbh, if they stink of whiskey then it's a bit different. If they're pissed then... well they don't need any more!
  10. Don't fret yourself, mate That's all fine. You needn't've deleted your posts either (I'll still see them, or at least a placeholder for them, as a mod). Thanks for saying that you're retiring, though! Maybe next time, eh?
  11. The other week I heard the usual "spare some..." and as I turned to say "sorry mate" I realised that I recognised the guy sitting there. I squatted and had a bit of a chat. He was from my 'graveyard' days, and as such it wasn't a massive surprise. He told me how his current digs was a nice little squat he shared with 8 mates (3-bedroom place), and they took it in turns to come out and beg each night. He'd normally go home with £50ish for a 10-hour shift. He had a dog and a girl, but his mates sometimes just went by themselves (don't get as much without 'family'). They have their dole money for food, and their begging money goes in a shared kitty for booze/fags. It's strange when you know the person asking you for help, y'know? Gave him a couple of cans (natch), had a rollie with him, and went off on my way. He's always been a nice lad, just taken with the tide. The fact is for him, it's about acquiring a bit more money. He has a roof over his head and some good friends, but he's just not clued up. RAMBLETHOUGHTS
  12. Sorry, foreigners! I have no idea how to save this clip at all. Can anyone do it somehow?
  13. Yeah good point! if we had continued having two kills a night (getting ReZ was BRILLIANT for us) we would've had this baked and sliced. (another post!!) yeah, if anything leaving me and mr-paul was the 'best' our mafia could've hoped for. Neither could be investigated to be evil nor ever appear bad in the write-ups.
  14. In retrospect I think my self-made role could've been better. I couldn;'t think of a decent day-power to make up, so I went with having no role but having to keep my role secret. Really, that made it impossible to earn trust. If I could do it differently I'd probably say that I could get added info on the previous night, or something. Themed mafia games makes it harder to make shit up, and I do like that to a large extent. Maddog had a good mix of notable and 'cameo' characters.
  15. Which was why we had to kill marc :P we knew we had lost and out of spite we couldn't let him win! :P If you had targetted me last night, peeps, then today could've been different. My (real) role was that anyone targetting me would be roleblocked, and be absent from the write-ups. We immediately decided that I'd be the killer seeing as I was effectively invisible. I think my role was probably too powerful, and I hope maddog doesn't think marc's was too powerful too because honestly it wasn't THAT bad. Mind you, I'm assuming that other pages would've been less potent as the one he picked. Without checking, it's hard to really say whether it was OTT or not. Either way it certainly made the lynching fun. Just a shame the town got the lynch correct each time. Our tactic was to kill off the KNOWN good guys from that list. I kept avoiding killing smeagol (except the night we were too late with our targets, I think? Not sure) because I felt I could shade him with evil tones -- which clearly worked as last dayphase we were one vote away, a vote that, if we had achieved it, would've sealed victory. Good game Maddog! Sorry if I offended you in my anger. To make the last 4 players in any mafia game is an achievement, so I'll be glad of that
  16. We were MINUTES away from winning. Damn mr-paul and his social life :P At one point I was kinda furious at maddog, because he was annoyed at how people hadn't sent their roles in. I hurriedly sent mine in, only to see I was out of luck and maddog had posted the write-up already. We were quickly hard done by - having three mafias ousted so early on, me and mr-paul tried to keep the fight but smeagol was too sharp for us. A great game all in all - really went through all of the emotions for me!
  17. So it turns out it wasn't on South Today but on South East Today. Wtf. anyway -- http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00wcjsk/South_East_Today_02_12_2010/ 24 mins. I'm 2nd person. LOL FAMOUS!

  24. To satiate Maddog's primal cousin, Mad Monkey, here's a thread about cheese! I love cheese. Bill Bailey loves cheese. Mousetraps are at pain to part from their cheese - so do you feel the pressure from your peers enough yet to admit your guilt? Cheese is wonderful, wholesome, smelly stuff. I can think of at least two cheese jokes. My favourite cheese is Boursin. But I fear it's a cheat-cheese. A mascarphoney. Three jokes! Otherwise a medium-to-strong cheddar goes a long way. Blue cheeses are still a bit absurd to me, but otherwise I think a hearty grating of cheese on any warm meal goes a long way to making my taste buds orgasm. Which can be messy. Et tu?
  25. Got Crackdown (hello, 2007!) and just wondering what people's general thoughts/feelings on the game are? Currently I'm no good at getting around the city, and each time I get out of my nice, fast, practically-unbreakable car to chase a green orb I end up spotting another orb, and another, and another and-- oh, wait, where did I park my car again? The reason I'm so attached to it is because whenever I've raced in any other car, the car is either too slow, too fragile, or too hard to handle. So yeah. Roaming about a bit headless currently. Been playing it in 20 minute bursts. Never been great at sinking house into free-roaming games. Any tips for my focus... or anything?
