For Bjork I would say start from her first album Debut but as for her best album? Homogenic is widely regarded but for me they are all good in their own ways, still though I would say getting hold of her first album is a good starting point and then if you decide you want to listen to more then carry on chronologically. Forgot to say this earlier... thanks JonSt, I've ordered all their albums recently so I'll be sure to give Dear God a listen asap.

It's not quite that blunt but I think a lot of people maybe feel alienated when the thread is mostly populated by posts of say two or three of us mainly talking about one artist such as Bjork... people may well be aware of the artist in question but possibly have not given them a proper chance or plan to listen to them just not at the same time as others happen to be. And so when people then start warming to said artist a few months later after maybe posting saying that "it's not for me" several months before, it can come across that they have maybe been deliberately not listening because of the frequent recommendations, but that's not necessarilly the case; some people just like to discover music for themselves... Take my recent listenings of PJ Harvey for example... now I know that she had been mentioned several times in this very thread before but it wasn't until I happened upon a couple of her CD's in an independant music store that I actually actively started to show an interest in her, as I had made no effort previously to get into her despite the recommendations. However now I'm glad that I did of course... ultimately people aren't going to listen to every recommendation that's posted here but it is nice when they get acknowledged but I think that recommending music that might be new to others is a good thing but it's up to the individual to then decide whether they like it or not. I think making the effort to listen to different things is good every now and then as it gives you a chance to broaden your musical tastes and you may even end up surprising yourself in the process I actually decided at the beginning of this year to listen to more varied music, I've taken on-board the suggestions of a good few people who have posted here as well as choosing a few different artists for myself and personally I'm glad that I did because its made me realise how much more there is out there to be discovered. So to anyone who's thinking of trying something different in music, take that chance because sometimes it can be very rewarding indeed.

Please don't be offput by the fact that a handful of us - including myself - keep talking about her, it's all good I assure you. Army of Me is indeed a great song, one of her best and I'm glad that you like it I won't recommend any other of her songs - I've done enough of that recently - but if do want any suggestions then let us know.

Right! after it was revealed that a shocking amount of people on N-E have yet to play the original Okami yet... *shakes head in dissapointment* And then this was suggested... So seeing as no-one else has started this off I've decided to get the ball rolling... it's time for me to also admit that I hadn't played Okami... But! I am now repenting for my sins as I'm now five hours or so into the game and loving it. Who else is going to join me? I think it'd be advisable otherwise we'll incur the wrath - or at least dissapointment - of Moogle... And I'm sure none of us want that, so let me be the first to say... "Please forgive me Moogle!" As for everyone else who's yet to play this stunning game, you know what to do.

Fair enough I guess... Now I preferred my Cube likewise but overall the PS2 had a lot going for it and I must've missed out on a bunch of games for it after 'changing' systems a couple of years into the generation. I think that statement is a bit blunt and probably not just. I preferred my GC too and yes the PS2 had a lot going for it but it was more that a lot of people just bought one because it was perceived as 'cool' because it had 'GTA' and I think that was for many the overiding reason of why it was so successful but for the wrong reasons. Of course the PS2 had other stunning games though... Ico, SOTC, Okami, GoW, DMC but is seems many bought it just for Rockstar's output sadly... anyway I just prefer the exclusive games that the GC had to the PS2's.

It's exactly as it's always been as far as I can remember, maybe it is slightly faster but I doubt it.

I'm not deying that it's my opinion, normally I would post "Imo" at the end of each relevant sentence but it does get a bit tiresome is all... :/ So anyway, just to clarify my post was not intended to be read as fact, everyone has their favourite consoles and always will and no list will ever change that.
-
Oh sorry... I clearly forgot to put "IMO" at the end of it of course it's just my opinion, I don't expect it to be agreed with, just stating things how I see them. All consoles have their plus points and people will have their favourites based on how much enjoyment each console has given them, for me I've got more enjoyment out of Nintendo's consoles than Sony's... With that said I've also got a load of enjoyment out of the 360 but the PS3? in terms of exclusives titles that I've actually enjoyed, it falls short... there's no need to post a list of exclusive titles because I allready have the ones that I'm interested in, the fact of the matter is that I've enjoyed more exclusive titles on the Wii and 360 than I have on the PS3, that's all.
-
All three are excellent games so why worry about it? Just enjoy them!
-
It'll most likely come to 360 as well though? GTA did so people will be expecting this to as well I'd imagine.
-
I dislike her for the same reason, the warbulling is bad enough in her own songs but when she covered Run she bloody wabulled it to death! I seriously don't get what people see in her... but each to their own.

Let's face it... PS2 is only higher up in the list because 'everyone' had / has one but just because it's the choice of the masses doesn't make it the best... Look how the tables have turned now... the Wii is the main choice of console atm and although it has some truly stunning games, the 360 mainly - and to a lesser extent, PS3 - consistently have a lot more to offer, but then again this is mostly because the same games get put on both, whereas the Wii has more true exclusives... we just have to wait longer for them. It's a trade-off basically and it always has been, each console has its exclusives and people will buy whatever console they like, it's not a problem and no 'list' will ever be definitive, it's just down to choice.

That sucks *mahoosive hugs* I would have thought your family would be more careful... if you have a cold it's just common sense to carry around loads of tissues for when you inevitably sneeze, then bin them after use and wash hands immediately after otherwise it just spreads... >.< I hate it when people at work cough or sneeze into their hands and then wipe it on their clothes :/ - what good do they expect that to achieve? - and this is in the staff room ffs where there is food - eugh! sometimes people just don't think and it's frustrating so I completely sympathise with you Raining and I really hope that you'll get better soon.

I know but... it's just that after hearing both ESOE and Uprising and not really being blown away by either I was starting to long for the days of old once more. Well I know it won't reclaim former glory but... Unnatural Selection is close to being inbetween OOS and Absolution in terms of song quality Imo and it's the first track from their new album that I've heard that has shown promise. I do agree though, I'll reserve full judgement for when the album is actually released because I'm sure that I'm still gonna like it either way.

No, the album Volta by Bjork... it's her latest one chronologically afaik, I've been working my way through her discography, there are many tracks of hers that I find immensely enjoyable. ----------------------------------------------- Relistening to Medulla again... fuck! Where Is The Line, Who Is It, Oceania, Ancestors, Mouth's Cradle and Triumph of a Heart are all amazing tracks. ----------------------------------------------- Also are there many who are into Avenged Sevenfold here? I really like a lot of their music - seen them live once also - but have only now got around to buying their CD's... anyone got any favourite tracks?

Oh yeah, I'm not denying that it's brilliant, just that track in particular creeped me out a little kind of unsettling but in a good way... but yes the way that it's almost entirely composed of just vocals - quality vocals at that - is amazing and it's indeed an achievement in itself. I can't wait until Monday when I'll be listening to Volta...

Today I listened to Medulla by Bjork... and I did like it a lot, some very nice tracks on there indeed but one in particular while I enjoyed it I was also thinking 'wtf?' inside because it really is one of the strangest tracks I've ever heard, even by Bjork's standards.

Thanks, it was as much a pleasure to review as it was to play I'm just glad that I've now hopefully done one of my favourite series the justice it deserves in reviewing it.
-
Small changes... they added an excellent unified intro that covers all games and changes to reflect your progress in each game which is a nice touch indeed, the visuals in the first two have been sharpened up a bit, Morph Ball 'hop' move has been retro-actively fitted, a couple of bosses in Echoes are now less frustrating, the word 'damn' was removed from Metroid Prime 3 anndddd the 'Credits' rewards system is now in effect across all three titles. Plus thanks to the new control schemes which works perfectly these are now the definitive versions of the games, so yeah a few changes but all for the better.
-
Indeed, his vocal work is pretty impressive even if the lyrics in Unnatual Selection aren't the best, they are still better than the ones featured in Uprising and they are delivered really well easily the best track I've heard off their new album so far.

This happened... But seriously, don't worry about it... the tin case would have been a nice extra but it's the games themselves that are the most important part of this package and they are now better than ever.
-
Wow... while it's still far from their best, that's the first song I've heard off their latest album that sounds somewhere inbetween Origin of Symmetry and Absolution in terms of quality, so I'd say there is definitely at least some hope for the album yet.

Shit seriously? I didn't realise it had got that bad :/ I mean that's almost the price of what a film will cost when it comes out on Blu-Ray... In Cornwall ticket prices are about £6 - £9 I guess but like I say some cinemas down here are - afaik - still using crap projectors so it really isn't worthwhile for me going to see anything very often. At least in central London they will have the newest equipment but even so... £13 -£15 per ticket? that is a lot just to see one film once.
